Some want I-49 routed on the Inner Loop Expressway and paired with I-220. I don't know whose idea it was, but they built a public housing complex right at Murphy Street/Pete Harris Drive intersection as if that will stop 49 from coming through the city. I personally think 49 will go through Allendale because it's a straight shot through town and it will give more options to access downtown besides I-20.
Latest proposal I’ve seen suggests an alternative that curves closer to downtown to avoid most of the neighborhood. I have a feeling that they might go with that one.
Best solution would probably be curving I-49 west just before its interchange with I-20 and following the railroad right-of-way out to Cross Lake before curving north to the northern section. Leave the existing interchange as a spur; probably don't need any other interchanges between I-20 and I-220.
Greetings from windy rainy stormy nashville tennessee.gotta tornado watch in effect till 1.00.yep.im pacing.scared.we got big trees behind us.were right below em.sitting in a low lying area.prayers for us please.my bf lives in a travel trailer with his nephew.in worried.nice ride.
I think they are going to route I-49 around the west side of Shreveport and make the remaining segment between the beltway and I-20 a spur, like I-249 or I-449.
@The032387 If it does become a spur route, then the first digit will begin with an odd number (such as 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9), not even numbers which usually constitute a loop.
From casual examination of a Google Maps view of that area, Louisiana will have a hard time developing a good route for making I-49 continuous through Shreveport. I-20 and I-220 actually slant away from where I-49 travels for both of its directions, so that appears to make even marking them as concurrent routes impractical.
They should just reroute I-49 via the Inner Loop Expressway. No reason to build it straight through Allendale neighborhood as there are houses and they are building a housing complex that will be in the way if not already. Plus, the neighbors in that area has already said they do not want I-49 cutting through their area.

I think they should do it on 3132 and 220 considering those routes need upgrading any way

Nice ride along interstate 49 north and I didn't know that interstate highway continues from interstate 220

9:09 Never would have expected that sound from Louisiana
Yea, that bridge is new

Interesting sign at exit 201. Adding the word "To" Dallas/Texarkana seems redundant.
Nice I 49. I 49 go on I 20 and I 220
so they ever plan on continuing i-49?

Why is the road so rough and bumpy in Louisiana
Cause of the heat and weather
Hurricane damage doesn't get this far north
