Don't let the mic situation bring you down, it's not ideal but at least you made it work somehow. With the brake pipe its best to use a brake pipe spanner, which is like a normal open ended spanner but shaped like the nut. Also may need to use some heat to help free it off (maybe a heat gun rather than a flame burner as it is close to the body of the car). They are usually 11mm with the exception of some cars. Also you might need to be patient with it as you don't want to end up twisting the metal pipe whilst trying to undo it. Use mole grips at the bottom just to stop the bracket twisting as well.
Just to let you know for a proper MOT you will need to replace the windscreen as it’s an instant fail a crack that size. Love the content keep up the good work
If there is damage of 40mm in size, anywhere on the windscreen, your vehicle will fail its MOT. The crack will need to be fixed before being re-tested. However, even a 10mm-sized damage on a cracked windscreen results in MOT failure if it falls within what is known as windscreen Zone A
