    This recipe is fantastic. I add a little more white wine (1 cup) as I like it a little saucier (and let's be honest, booz-ier), absolutely delicious! Don't skip the bread crumbs, it imparts an amazing texture and flavor with the lemon zest. I've made this recipe two weeks in a row.

      Cozy Bogie did you actually use the sourdough, cut it and process to crumbs? Or just used prepackaged breadcrumbs? I'm kind lazy on that to be honest

    Not gonna lie, the more recent style of editing is so much better in my opinion. No corny music in the background and all that. Just feels so much more authentic and involved

    This is an amazing recipe but one key tip DO NOT SALT YOUR PASTA WATER as you normally would. Reduce the salt by half, or even less because once you add in 1 cup of the pasta water that's like liquid salt, which will also reduce and get even saltier.

    Made this last week! My family LOVED it. It ended up being a little too salty as I didn't have kosher salt on hand, but I added a splash of water to the final dish and it was perfect. Didn't have the anchovy and I also just used a good knife for the garlic slices. Toasted some dutch crunch rolls for the crumbs which I LOVED the texture of with the pasta. Will definitely make again!

    I love Claire and I love linguine and clams!!! Fabulous video with great tips! I always order linguine and clams if a restaurant has it on the menu, it's one of those dishes that, to me, tells me if the restaurant is a winner or a loser... because it's an easy dish to make, but can be easily be screwed up if you don't have chefs that care for the food properly. Going to have to try this dish with breadcrumbs now!

    OMG!!
    The butter with the fish .... The wine in the oil with a ton of garlic. The toasted bread that makes a delicate dish an authentic DOG MAST !!

    I've been doing some recipe hunting on RUclips for this dish and this one looks the best! One thing I'm wondering - do you typically need to wash + scrub supermarket clams to keep any dirt / sand grit out of your sauce? I saw that in another video and am not sure if it's universal knowledge or if that person sourced clams that needed it.

    I used seasoned and toasted bread crumbs way before I ever say this on here. But I also use a bottle of Clam Juice for extra zing, cause pasta water only adds salt, not flavor.

    How much water for how much pasta? I've found the amount of water you cook the pasta water in is important when using the pasta water for sauce development. The amount of starch is intensified with less water

    Why have I heard hundreds of times (from professional chefs) that if a mussel or clam hasn’t opened that it isn’t necessarily bad, however some people keep saying it? I’m confuzzled.

    Liked the video more than the dish. Been making Linguine & Clams for years with caned clams & cooking wine, and love it. But wanted to know what I might be mission. After viewing many videos on RUclips, I chose yours. With laptop on kitchen counter and pausing after each direction, I was ready to go. First time in my life I bought fresh clams at the seafood counter, $7.99, an first time in years I purchased real wine, Sauvignon Blanc, $10.99. Fresh not dried parsley $2.49. Sourdough roll, $.95 Fresh garlic $1.69.. and of course linguine $1.00. It was full of flavor. Nothing tasted bad. But the breadcrumb idea did not work. I followed direction EXACTLY pausing between steps. It just didn't hit it at all. $26.11 and I already had the olive oil in the house. The bread crumbs stuck to the clams and I got clam casino over pasta. The clams were perfect by the way! I don't know.. just a lot of work and way to much money for one dish when the store bought caned calms & cooking wine work for about $8.00 a dish. I guess if I keep any part of this it might be the wine. Other than that, I could have ordered this at a restaurant for $12 to 15 dollars without the work. What am I missing????
