- Let me introduce you to what is probably my favorite pasta of all time, brought to you by clams. It’s briny and bright, filled with garlic, lemon, and a generous pour of white wine, topped with spicy olive oil-fried breadcrumbs, and finished with parsley (my #1 favorite herb, sorry 2 dill). The clams do the heavy lifting here, giving up so much of their liquid to be soaked up by al dente pasta. It’s saucy, it’s delicious, and I hope you love it as much as I do.

1:25 Boil water and prepare the clams
2:25 Toasted breadcrumb topping
3:34 Build the sauce with garlic, lemon peel, clams, white wine, and seasoning
5:16 Season your pasta water and start boiling the spaghetti
6:07 Chop parsley for finishing the pasta
6:30 Stir the clams in the sauce until they open then transfer to a bowl
8:14 Add the nearly al dente pasta to the sauce and add the clams back to serve
9:30 Plate and finish the Clam Pasta with herbs, garlic, oil, and lemon juice

Made the shrimp scampi on Sunday and noted that the clams looked great at the store, I think this recipe will convert me to the clam life!

So glad to see a clam video. I love clams so much. They not only put me through college, but bought me my first car. Turns out, a college girl in some Daisy Dukes can make A LOT of money shucking clams on the boardwalk at the Jersey shore. Shrimp scampi, while delicious, never gave back.

I have to say I love panko in my pasta, with a TON of olive oil and garlic! I mean, come on!?! If you are going to have garlic… just load it on!!! I love clams, but usually the bellies are a little too gummy. I am going to have to try your way of cooking them. I love clam pasta too but I've never been brave enough to make it using fresh clams...I've only used canned clams. You made it look so easy though, I might have to give it a try!

My recipe is basically the same but I add scallions whites to the fried garlic and lemon zest at the end instead of frying the rind. I add the scallion greens at the end instead of parsley.

I was looking for a way to make a decent pasta dish with the pre-packaged mussels I bought. I found this site and voila the plan just fell into place. While I did not have fresh clams, I did have the pre-packaged mussels in a garlic mix so I did limit the amount of garlic from your method but followed most of the rest of the process. Since I was not sold on the idea of toasted Panco I decided to forgo that until another time. My go-to choice of wine for cooking is normally a decent Chardonnay. Other than for cooking my go-to is a Cab but since I only needed a little more than a cup of Chardonnay I did not waste the rest...trust me on that! I prefer angel hair pasta for all of my pasta dishes so that is what I went with and with a little bit of modification of your recipe with my pre-cooked mussels that needed less cooking I turned out a very delicious meal. I love your video and the way your personality brings more interest into a mundane cooking lesson. Thank you!
