100%, some people can pull off the baggy look, but they're few and far between. Most of the time those people end up looking like they have no clue how to dress (like a child wearing their dad's blazer)

    My general principle is this:
If I’m going to a place or meeting with people that aren’t very into fashion, slimmer look is usually the safe bet.
But if I find an outfit that is equally good looking between slim and relax, I will usually go with relax because it’ll win on comfort.

I’m gonna be honest, slim is my default go-to about 90% of the time. However, whether you go slim or baggy, one thing you always gotta keep in mind is the construction of the pants and how they drape over you. Loose pants, in order for them to always look good in my opinion, need to have a clean silhouette throughout, from hip to ankle. Otherwise the look gives off a sloppy vibe. I feel like your look with the gray bomber illustrates my point the best

Your fashion sense is great, Marcel! I think it is a matter of personal preference, relaxed or slim fit. For me right now I prefer the relaxed look. It is more current. I am slowly transitioning to it. For the past decade, the slim or even the skinny fit was the trend. It comes and goes and come back again. Thank you for all your presentation. While i definatelly prefer roomier fits than slim fits, truth is you dont have to choose, because tapered fits exist. I think is the best of both worlds. Gives you a bit of extra room if you have athletic legs, but still follows the line of the leg beautifully but not tight. Relaxed tapered, loose tapered or regular tapered is the way to go for me.

Hi Marcel, I prefer Slim fits, but in terms of pants/jeans... it has to be cropped when it comes to both fits due to the fact that I prefer the cleaner look, I don't like my pants stacking or having any type of break at the bottom because to me stacked/breaking just throws the whole look out of proportion as with cropped you get that clean line running down to the shoe. Thanks

I tend to go for a slim fit for two reasons. 1. I have a slender frame so looser or baggier outfits tend to make my look lost in the outfit (like I lost weight and never bought new clothes). 2. I have small feet so wide leg pants swallow up my feel and hide them or make them look even smaller. (Horrible 90's flashback😂).

Not all the people have the luxury options to choose both slim and baggy. I'm a slim dude and recently found all of my outfits are slim fits and want to spice it up a little. Relaxed fit creates a less aggressive vibe and if you do it right, it also creates a luxury feeling. However, I just don't have many clothes to go with the wide fit and I do realize after trying them on a couple times I start getting eye fatigue and I still like the slim tapered fit a little bit more. It's also easier to walk and move in those pants that are more fitted (given the pants can stretch). Relaxed fits do look different, but I think the outfit requires a bit more thinking. Most mornings, I just try to throw something on my body real quick.

I wear both loose and slim. My first thing to consider when buying pants is that it should hug my butt first. There are days when I want my balls to breathe so I would wear something loose but not too baggy. I like the slim stretchable jeans and chinos at times. I want flexibility and not stuck with one silhouette. For me, dressing up is an adventure and am open to get out of the box at times and wear something different just for kicks. Love your black Chelsea boots. I just bought one yesterday Hugo Boss on sale at Saks Off 5th.

As you say it's important to consider both slimmer and more relaxed fits. Many of the guys now wearing ultra baggy stuff would have been wearing spray on jeans 5 years ago. There's a balance to find.
I think looser items are a bit harder to style, but if you get it right can be much more interesting. All slim outfits are hard to get wrong & very safe.
But I disagree that slim & relaxed pants can easily be interchanged in the same outfit. This is likely to throw off the proportions of the fit. Especially between the pants & the shoes. A chunky boot or sneaker with a slim, cropped trouser rarely works

The baggy trend is terrible and should be stopped. No body looks good in it. I don't care what Justin Bieber is doing we achieved a timeless aesthetic with the slim/skinny trend, not the emo 2007 stuff, but Lenny Kravitz, and the base level skinny jeans and boots or sneakers and then build from there. Everything from tees to over sized tees to button ups and sweaters. Coats and jacketa galore. It's the best base and gives every body type a solid starting point. Baggy looks lazy, sluggish, and zero form fitting.

I feel like you're underselling the importance of footwear in these outfits. When you're wearing the chelseas and converses, the outfit can flex baggy or slim, those are pretty versatile.
But the platform docs are suuuper chunky for a slim outfit, and the leather sneaks get lost in the baggy suit, not as contrasting as samba/onitsuka slim and not chunky enough to stand up to the suit.

People need to stop hating on skinnies. I STILL see guys that look fantastic in skinnies, it really depends on what works for your and your confidence. I just feel the hate for skinnies come from a mixture of a lot of guys either 1) not being comfortable with the look, 2) peer pressure to conform to trends, and also 3) (unfortunately) homophobia. Heterosexual men get uncomfortable seeing other men in tighter fitting clothing (or even sometimes get secretly aroused and want to repress those feelings) so they react by bashing or clowning.

Marcel, your video is the best example of optical illusion and visual perception. Yes those jeans/trousers were close to each other in colour BUT all the topwear were either oversized or cropped or puffer fit in nature. Almost all the shoes had chunky sole. Both commensurate well with the baggy fit. So, knowingly or unknowingly, U just gave baggy fit an undie advantage. Yes you may pull the theory tgat if Ur topwear us oversized then Ur bottom wear should be in slimmer fit. But I think honest comparison would had been if Ur topwear had been in contemporary fit. Neither baggy nor slim and not even comfort but contemporary fit. Please treat this as MY VERY PERSONAL OPINION ONLY

Skinny fit is for skinny people. Where men go wrong is when their top shape is boxy, then too slim a pant looks like two sticks hanging down from a box. The fit of your pants should match the fit of your top. The tapered from knee to ankle just look like you should be on a horse or have German jackboots for your tapered pants to go into.

Relaxed fit looks much better on you. Slim fit looks a bit outdated

Much prefer relaxed, and wide fits. Slim fit is boring. Glad skinny fit trend is over.
Classic cuts are always going to be straight and, tapered fits.

I hate baggy look, it’s for kids not grown men 😂…wear clothes that fit you men ‼️, rn it’s a “trend” that will die soon again

Baggy looks bad on me (slim, fit body type, workout everyday). I don’t wear them “anymore”. I believe we should wear by the body shapes. I don’t follow trends.
I could easily buy baggy clothes. Most American brands are very baggy for me since many American are (very) big (I am an Asian). I don’t wear fast fashion clothes even though they fit me better. I only buy high quality clothes (cost a lot more) which will last for long time.
Even the luxury high end Italian men brands show baggy clothes in their fashion shows last few years, most of their online outfits are still slim fit.
The baggy pants do not look too good on you.
