At 74 years of age, I have heard and watched this group from the very beginning. The " Animals " always had 4 things going for them that kept them on the top of the charts. A killer baseline, drum kit, organ and Eric Burden vocals. They were instantly recognizable and were so easy to dance to.

One off most underated bands ever in history... Eric Burton's vocals made this bad for sure !! Without him they wouldn't have made it !! He's the most versatile singer of all time. He was so young when he started singing at "The Beat Club". His father let him sing there as long as he was home by 11pm. That was before the band The Animals. He was more of a blues singer before anything else. Love ya Eric, still !!

@@dcarts5616 Looks like it was a live performance later enhanced by reprocessing the audio. I saw Eric live at the Satsop River Rock Festival when he was with Jimmy Witherspoon. Eric was a great live performer and the Animals did many non-lip synced performances on TV in the sixties. Whatever the full story is of this video, The Animals were a great live band. Their early records were done like The Beatles; the whole band playing together doing a whole song with several takes of the whole song, and then picking the best take. All the British invasion bands of early to mid 60s were great live bands because they had to be that way in the studio too.

Had massive distortion on House of the Rising Sun, but it still sounded fab. Happy days racing around on a motor bike without a care in the world. The tall, baby faced bassist is Chaz Chandler. After he left the Animals in late 1966, he was in NYC the following summer of 1967 as a talent scout. Keith Richards suggested a guitarist that he had seen play at Cafe Wha. Chandler took him back to London to produce his first few albums. Oh, the guys name was Jimi Hendrix.
