There is no other phone with better audio than the HTC!
+Ilhan Ryustem The V10 and G5 have a 32 bit dac while this one has a 24 bit one, but we will have to wait for the comparisment i guess.
+ZombysZ anything above 24 bit DAC is useless, most movies and songs are mastered at 24 bit / 96khz

Just keep your m8 in case you don't like the 10. I don't see this phone hanging with the m8 & m9 on sound, but we'll see.
+ELiTE_OpTiic Jup we'll see, i like the looks though pretty solid phone with awesome specs everything seems perfect but the sound needs to amaze me like my m8 did because I'm a huge music lover hahah that's why I got myself the m8 2 years ago and still use it this day :)
+Dani Yes i like my m8 also. Can you believe they're claiming the 10 boom sound is better? I find that hard to believe Without the bottom front facing speaker.
Good news. The m8 has dropped down to $399 and the m9 $499. These are the last of the "true" boom sound era.

I'm curious to see whether the isolated subwoofer will solve the problem of speakers eventually distorting that I've seen on my M7, M8, and M9 - always used with moderate audio levels.
I'll probably be picking one of these up this year.
Why won't you bring the Black & Silver variant to the Netherlands, HTC? That version is perfect for me, because of these contrasting colors. I also can't understand why you won't anyway because the more variants available the more you will sell I'd say.
I am a very loyal HTC customer, and refuse to purchase any other smartphone. Was very eager to upgrade to the HTC 10, but after listening to it (side-by-side with my HTC One M8 Harmon Kardon Edition), I was extremely disappointed. Please consider releasing a Harman Kardon (or something related), where the sound can truly shine. I will be waiting!
Yes, We expect great sound. But you removed the front facing speakers?? Good job HTC. That was one of your main selling points you just killed there. Bravo.
people forget that if they had the front speakers they need to put in the big Ass bezels to support the speaker modules. lol. people complained like hell about the bezels
The m9 looked fine to me. And I would take a millimeter or 2 more bezel any day for sterling speakers.
+Tony Atzen You would, but i don't think you know how stressed people were because of that 'htc' black bar. It's better this way, it still has quality speakers, but without the black bar.

And besides, look at the nexus 6.

You are familiar with 5.1 and 2.1 audio?
This would be similar to 1.1.
It's like having only 1 speaker on the left side of your computer monitor, and a Subwoofer on the right. That will never beat the fantastic audio the M7, M8 and M9 had.
And look at the nexus 6. That doesn't have those big black bars, but it still have stereo front facing speakers.

Marshall London has real 2 stereo front facing speakers AND you can use 2 headphones. Marshall London is how it should be done. No gimmicks like subwoofer. Quality of audio is often matter of opinion so normal people won't be quite good judges of the real technical "Hifi" quality of audio equipment. More boom suit for dance music etc. I like real Heavy Metal. As a drummer i really like the sound of the speakers on the Marshall London. Also the WAV/FLAC format makes it a portable audio recorder. I can capture low bass of thunder and chirping birds. Most surprising for me was that because Marshall London is VR compatible the audio quality in VR videos sound way better in Marshall and actually adds to the immersiveness. I can't stand any laptops or any other smartphones speakers audio but i really like to listen Marshall's speakers. It is not muddy, not too treble but somewhere middle. Still there is excellent equalizer if somebody wants to get more Boom.
Every android phone can play flac and wav.. Every android phone can support a splitter for multiple audio jacks.. Those are meh.
But you're right on stereo.. That's much better. Somebody said that you can switch between subwoofer and stereo though, so that's good at least.

image if they had done these "Enhanments" and still kept the speakers in the same position... but they didn't so the sound will flow Flawlessly though my hand ...
I don't care about the speakers, I only care about whether the DAC is better than that of the S6/S7. (Please someone reply to this, if you know any of the details, thanks!)

Above the screen is a tweeter and on the base of the phone is a subwoofer which provides a stereo experience.
I wonder how it's sounds without front facing speaker. Hurm!

they should have place the audio jack on the bottom of the phone. A big turn off for me like thousands.

Samuel Asencio its not a speaker its just a subwoofer(htc calls it) at the bottom, main speaker is just one.
Bullshit! Technically (acoustics / physics) it's not possible to have a full bandwith (= full quality) sound on a mobile phone size speaker.

Well, it's unsual that advertisment is not lying... and that one is really telling true! Well, HTC, please, improve your marketing, you really deserve for better sales. I can see Samsung everywhere in my country, but HTC? It wasn't even in the market, only way to buy it was from the operator of cellular networks. And I bought it only because I hate Samsung and their overrated phones, but their marketing works too good for the rest of the market :-( And people listening them :-( I have to friends with S7, both admit HTC 10 is better after comparison, but I am the only person who know before it about HTC 10... from internet comparisons! Where are true advertisment, in newspaper, at billboards? I really wish you all the best, please, stay with your great quality and wisdom in creating phones (e.g. I really appreciate S-LCD 5 screens, much more than amoled), but also improve your marketing. The world should hear little more about your company.
M8 still tops in sound. Trust me..

+David James What about graphics? Because there is this Dragon Ball z game that I play all the time and the m8 graphics and front speakers are perfect for this. I got a few gameplay videos posted if you're a fan.
Any instance of comparing front facing speakers, the M8 (or M9) is better.
However, The M10 is faster, smoother, better screen, better colours and better screen size for gaming.
I loved stereo speakers too. But there is no way I want to use an M8 or M9 over this. It is that simple.

Anyone can explain me about the difference of upscale 24bit and native 24bit ? why htc dont support native 24bit, but they upscale 16bit to 24bit =.=!
+Vaanres Vaanica i think its a native 24 bit DAC, and it upscales 16 bit files to 24 bit....just like upscaling 1080p content to 4k in a 4k TV......
