I used to own one of these (XLR250R same year and same as this xr almost but had rear cush drive and no oil in frame) Ran it low on oil many times ,it smoked and i thrashed it almost to death it but it never died-It carried me round the Greek islands of Crete and the Peloponeese with my then girlfriend, up difficult off road mountain tracks sometimes 2 up with my female friend sat on the mudguard (she said it was more comfortable than the seat!) It completed a vintage motorcycle tour and was one of the fastest bikes on a narrow road section-with 12 year old bridgestone trail wings and a almost non-functioning back brake.It was light, fastish, easy to handle, easy to pick up, very safe as you can flick it about easily.I now own a big Husqvarna but i will never EVER forget it! These bikes deserve their place in history-well done sir!!!

This makes me wish I fixed up a 250r with the hot pink graphics I had a few years ago. Sold it and the guy blew it up somehow. I had a original show room 96 250L at the time in Uranus Purple so I dident care too much about getting rid of it then. One of my favorite bikes.
THX you like it. My very first XR600R was a 93. Now I just found this 93 in Italy and 2 94 600's here. We just fitted a 650 cylinder to the 600 engine - hope to finish the project in winter.....

Where did you get the plastic guard that goes between the rear tire and the swingarm and also protects the rear shock? Can't seem to find it online anywhere.
Hallo Tommy. At the moment of buying it several years ago, we did nothing to the engine. At the moment we're looking to rebuild the engine this years. I just made a 600 XR and the engine was no Problem. We re doing the complete engine with all beratungs and stuff. You never know how good the pre owner was to the Bike. Have a good day. @@egger2500 I will for sure. Its restored but I would say not to spec restored. It looks good. To be honest I'm probably going to invest a decent amount of cash into any bike I get. My budgets like $9k so if I can get a decent starting point for $2500 or so I should have a killer bike at the end. I like the Xr400's as well. Like the early 90's style.
