- Hey guys, what’s happening? Niyat here with film comics explained, and as requested, today we’re diving back into Attack on Titan. We will be discussing the Armored titan and how it ties into the ultimate ending of the series in the manga, so be warned, spoilers at the end of the video.
Featured in the amazing series, The Armoured Titan is one of the Nine main Titans and a tour-de-force. Currently in possession of Reiner Braun, the biological tank is covered in armoured plates of reinforced skin across its body.

Isn't it interesting that the Armored Titan, as well as Reiner himself, started out at the beginning of the series as a villain but as time passed he became more of a hero while Eren, the hero of the story, became the villain. Quite a role reversal.
Isayama is a true genius of writing.

I used to Hate Reiner with a burning passion. I'm talkin' Shou Tucker hatred for him. Then Hajime Isayama takes a step back and shows us why Reiner made his decisions. He's a victim of the war against Eldia. It was a major shocking moment, but made me think about the Story from a different perspective. Hajime Isayama has truly created a masterpiece.
I’ve been a big fan of the series from the start, and actually didn’t hate the ending like many fans did (no spoilers) thank u for covering more of SnK/AoT Mr. Niyat

The ending felt very rushed, felt like three chapters were crammed into one at the end.
All the other characters going: "thanks for genociding everyone Eren, we're okay with it now because you did it for us!" really rubbed me the wrong way.
@@ForeverTraitor I was hoping to avoid spoilers in the comments for the sake of anime only watchers. I think many people were upset that eren had a “lelouch” type of ending, but I didn’t mind it. I can agree that things felt a bit rushed, however

@@HarveyMeadowlark The Lelouch ending doesn't really work in this case anyway as it's shown that a nuclear war happens and the cycle of violence and titans just continues. All Eren accomplished was delaying the cycle to give his friends peaceful lives.
The weight of the armour really did hampered the speed of this titan but it does provides protection. However, I think his human intelligence, experience and awareness retained while in titan form are far scarier when used in battle
starting watching this series and it's waaayyy deeper that I initially thought it was going to be 😅

This show is the best story I have ever experienced. No hyperbole.

When Reiner and Berthold first revealed themselves to Erin, I HATED Reiner for what he had done. But by season 4, that hatred turned to understanding and sympathy and then to admiration. He became every bit the hero as Armin and Levi, and then some. Tragic villain-turned-hero, actually. Reminds me of a supporting character in Star Trek Deep Space Nine, the Cardassian Dumar played by Casey Biggs. He started as a bit character, who became a hated one after he murders Dukat's daughter, but by DS9's final season, he had become a tragic hero after finally realizing he had just been used and discarded like scrap paper.
The show being able to transition from a horror mystery to political thriller and recontextualise the actions of the characters is really unlike anything else in fiction.
Attack on Titan is seriously one of the best anime and Manga in the past couple decades! It's THAT good! I would love to see a season by season break down from you! Especially with the way you really delve into the lore of whatever subject you are covering, I feel like a season by season breakdown would be amazing! Not to mention the views and attention that it would garner!

Reiner went from an actual threat to quick down from a few precise thunder spear or a hardened fist
Reiner is the least threatening out of all the Titanshifters, he has too little self-worth and would almost always rather throw himself in the line of fire to protect someone else.

He's like the juggernaut from the xmen movies. Especially when he charges. He's basically a giant battering ram. It is said ounce the juggernaut is on a full charge with enough momentum nothing can stop him. When Reiner charges almost everything behind him gets destroyed like the houses in shiganshina when he destroyed the gate.
Not only that, Reiner is shown to have great hand to hand capabilities it is shown in every fights he can force Eren to go defensive during their last fight (as shown in the first episode of s4 p2) With those punches Eren’s arms would turn into mush especially every punch Reiner is throwing are very strong but luckily for Eren he has the Warhammer’s abilities jumpstarting his hardening capabilities.
i remember when this channle had only 10k subs but ik right away that you will hit these milstones in no time. your in depth knowledge in all vidoes, the accent, and video quality that leaves you informed and entertained, makes you my fav film channle.

Great video. The only thing I would say is Reiner had a split personality basically from the start. When he gets his head blown off by the Thunder spears that's the very end of season 3.

I like the beginning seasons of AOT better. To me, this was just to much lore that really didn't go anywhere and gave up the mystery of what AOT was to me.
The Armored Titan's design was based on Brock Lesnar.

Though I never seen solid proof outside resemblance, I always liked how the Armored Titan shares similarities to the Street Fighter 3 character Urien.
Right down to the hairstyle and chariot tackle when he smashed through the wall.
Probably one my overall favorite titans in design and look

Imagine The Colossal titan (Bertholdt), The beast titan (Zeke), and The Warhammer titan (Lara Tibur) were the ones to invade Paradis Island on that fateful day those warriors together would be unstoppable
Eh not really, Zeke would have gotten killed very early if he was one of the first ones simply because of Levi. Now if they would have sent the Warhammer titan with the Colossal and Armored instead of the Female titan then yeah they would have been unstoppable
@@AbysmalRapture The three of them would be so broken the warhammer could create titan hardening for Reiner if she really wanted too, and she is basically unkillable unless you use the Jaw titan, no one on the island could get Annie's crystal to break and she's underground when she transforms...Bertholdt needs no explanation
@@AbysmalRapture Warhammer has limited mobility with the user being outside. Not sure if it's suited to use under cover.
@@anxiousearth680 Warhammer could have been the perfect lightning rod in attacks, you get her to pop up and draw the attention of the soldiers. Meanwhile Reiner and Bertoldt setup somewhere else, they turn titan and blindside the soldiers that are attacking the Warhammer. Now everybody who's not dead have their attention on the two new threats which would allow the Warhammer to revert back and sneak away, that or she could allow herself to be captured and while she's in the dungeons of the capital she turns titan and just tears down the entire building. The Warhammer had a lot of potential, they just utilized her poorly

I grew to enjoy AoT over time. Yeah it can be a bit pretentious at times and suffered from a lot of anime cliches, but in the end I just learned to not think about it much and BOOM 💥 could finally enjoy it.

I like how he is a flawed character, not overpowered as he lacks experience using his titan ability to its full potential; Eren piggybacked off his lack of experience and Annie's lack of foresight that this anime feels like a nice revenge story after witnessing how they just wiped out 250,000 Civilians without remorse

The first time I watch the aot series the armored titan or reiner look cool and feel that you can't stop him but overtime his now a punching bag I hate how they made reiner look bad but besides eren titan form reiner titan form is my favorite out of all

I thought this titan was so cool when I saw it at first and then I found out who it actually is and realized how weak it is he gets bodied by like everyone
But the last confession of Eren to armin about mikasa ruined everything imo. And people are defending the logic that he was 19 & just realised he was afraid of death, lol. If i was 19 and had the same ability like eren to see the future , then i would only kill ymir to end the curse or spent the last of my years with a girl like mikasa. I wouldn't risk my life for 50 years of cold war( so called freedom for the paradis). And also people with 1% of brain will choose to destruct 100% of the world , it's not like 30-40% you are destroying 80% ( Then why not rest 20%) . We also saw mikasa wasn't free from eren till the last years as we saw she was clinging to the scarf till her last breath (That's not freedom that's called guilt). And last but not least WTF is the parasite thing( the main antagonist imo) ,we actually didn't learn what is its actual backstory , power . It was just there for sci-fi reason. Isayama probably ran out of idea or got bored or hot rushed. I would like the ending about 40% . Hoping for a better ending in anime ✌️

Reiner was always one of my favorite characters in the series, was shocked when he literally walked up to Eren and told him who he really was. Bad@$$ character.
The Armoured Titan has another hidden ability. He can add more damage or strength. To his attacks - by using that smoke he pushes out his mouth.
ButvThat's just steam. It comes out his mouth because his armored plates dont let it come out so he let's it out through his mouth.
@@eduardor-o4884 No. He's seen actually using that steam to increase his attack. Seen in his fights. And that he runs increasing his speed and attack.
So it definitely does something

@@eduardor-o4884 When Reiner runs at the wall, he doesn't run at his average speed. When he uses that steam ability. He gains noticable speed, which isn't his average. He's fucking faster.
And he breaking an upper part of the Hardened walls, there's no titans there. But it was weaker, but not weak. So him breaking it was impressive - and Reiner against Eren was using it. In fact: he uses the steam ability, when he uses it. It causes much more damage, yeah, considering these are houses. Which break easy for the Titans. But considering he was concentrated as fuck, this attack would probably hurt.
@@eduardor-o4884 And it takes time for him to actually wait for the steam, which he does a lot. So this ability takes time to rev up---so he waits for it to hit it's max. Which he does. The two times he is using it.

Ya know if the titans were robots instead of giant flesh monsters piloted by humans they would be like gundams lol or Eva's from Evangelion they are used the exact same way gundams are tools of war
They already are tools of war. The warriors are an integral part of Marley military superiority. And mindless titans are basically air dropped tanks by dropping people while they transform.
Titans and Eva's are pretty much the same thing in the sense that they're giant humanoid monsters only differences are that Eva's are disguised as machines and the whole running on a battery thing(until the plot calls for that to not happen)
Actually if you watch the 90s gundams the armored titan does make some sounds the gundams make when he moves. Like gears grinding or when he gets up.

Aside from the stale "plot-armor titan" jokes and the riener bullying,The armored titan is still a powerful weapon of war,a shield used to bash his enemies to bits. Hell one punch from this guy could obliterate eren's face from their first fight,dude sent him flying too
S3 shiganshina he split the ground apart with a punch. Imagine if that made contact with erens face. I think isayama purposely didn't let reiner have any hits cause erens the attack titan not the armored attack titan. His main is attacking. Not defending. Reiner can take his punches but can eren take his coming at his face with full force? In season 2 he rocked erens skull and eren said he couldn't move his body and was twitching on the ground. In shiganshina Reiners fist caught on fire( probably just for show) and when he missed the a little bit of the top part of a house came off. I dont know if that was from the force of reiners punch but neither of them hit the roof. And when eren is blocking reiners punches they look like they covered in a mist or something.

@@rodrelackerman9324 I kind of see eren like the flash and Reiner like the hulk. Flash is faster and can deliver punches much quicker, hulk is slower and bulkier but has devastating power behind his fists and flash certainly wouldn't wanna get hit by one.

@@rodrelackerman9324 to be honest this might piss some people off but just hear me out, If Reiner's charges are powerful enough to destroy the buildings around him and bust through a giant thick wall, if reiners punches are powerful enough to send eren flying with his entire jaw almost destroyed and leaving him twitching on the ground, eren said it himself" I cant move my body" that must mean he hit eren so hard he lost motor control, and if he's strong enough to grab the attack titan and swing him around and manhandle him and making the ground burst open with his punches wouldn't that mean isayama had to purposely prevented Reiner from ever landing any hits? Otherwise there wouldn't be a fight.
I hate how mappa butchered the titan animations
The titan movements looks stiff and it's really not good to look at

lmao you're on crack mappa has done an incredible job so far and they're gonna give their best to part 3. I mean part 1 had some problems but it had a rough schedule and cuz of covid stuff but part 2 was phenomenal
