One Last Camping Trip to the Okanagan for the Season

- We attempt to escape smoky skies for one last trip to the Okanagan (BC) for the season in our Roadtrek Zion campervan. We camp at EC Manning and Kekuli Bay Provincial Parks and enjoy the serenity and the beautiful colours of the fall season. We also get a new pet locator device for our cat, Finch.

The Sumacs at that Kekuki (sp) site were so pretty.
It is a nice area and on a sunny day would have been even nicer! And you were so close…bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/kekuli_bay/
Glad you got the locator collar for Finch, and he doesn’t mind wearing it. We’ve had so much smoke here in Washington as well, but now that the rain is back, the air has cleared up. Sorry you missed your samosas!
We did a few tests with it…but didn’t film. It works very similar to an avalanche beacon. So nice to have the smoke gone, but we shifted into almost winter over the course of a week!
Do I ever love fall camping. Glad you got one last camping trip in this year. Too bad it was so smoky. When I saw you were heading east out of Van, I thought for sure veggie samosas, haha.

Thanks for the mention. It was a pleasant surprise bumping into you two at Kekuli Bay. We definitely caught the last few good days of fall in the Okanagan. We have a few of your videos bookmarked for future destination ideas; like the BC Hydro site on the island with the pet bird.
Wish we had taken a moment to get a photo of the new to you van! You will like that BC Hydro site: though we can’t promise the bird will still be there!

It was smoky those same days here in Campbell River as well.
Almost impossible to avoid this year! Just had never seen this before in mid October!
I sure enjoyed the fall colours around the Okanagan area, Oyama was my childhood home.
My hometown! It is a shame that Kal Lake looked dark and dismal, it is such a beautiful place to live right next to.
It is a gorgeous area…it was just about to rain so a little dark and gray that day.

Do you ever have any plans to head south to warmer climates?
We keep talking about it, but still nothing set as of yet. Certainly tempting! All that said, we will still winterize soon.
As long as the days are above freezing your water system won't be damaged. Any ice build up needs time to expand. I was able to arrange to go back to the U. S. again and will be crossing the border on Nov. 1. Cheers, Steve
@@ScubaSteveCanada we are always cautious, but have never had an issue at -3 or so if the days were warm once again. Look forward to hearing about your adventures south!
@@hikenrv Eastern Washington, Oregon to Twin Falls and south to Lake Havasu and Parker is well worth it at this time of year.
