- This week @DesignerHomeTours we're thrilled to explore Regan Baker's stunning mid-century modern home nestled in the heart of Forest Knolls, San Francisco. Known for her expertise in functional design with artistic flair, Regan masterfully transformed this 1961 gem into a warm and inviting haven for her family.
Here are some of the key elements of the design:
1. Seamless Flow: Bathed in natural light, the open layout flawlessly connects the living room, kitchen, and dining area, fostering a sense of togetherness and maximizing space.
2. Multifunctional Marvel: Regan's genius shines in the cleverly designed spaces. The guest room effortlessly doubles as a family office, and a hidden bar behind a bookshelf adds a touch of fun and surprise.
3. Storage Solutions with Soul: Built-in cabinetry and hidden compartments seamlessly blend practicality with aesthetics, offering ample storage without compromising on style.
4. Mid-Century Magic: Clean lines, warm woods like walnut and leather, and pops of color create a timeless and elegant ambiance that embodies the essence of mid-century modern design.
5. Artful Expression: Hand-painted wallpaper, curated artwork, and unique objects infuse the home with personality, transforming it into a personal gallery that reflects Regan's artistic sensibilities.
6. Nature's Embrace: Large windows and a seamless indoor-outdoor flow create a harmonious connection with the surrounding forest, bringing tranquility and a sense of peace to the living spaces.
Whether you're a mid-century enthusiast or simply seeking inspiration for your own home, this tour promises to inspire and delight. So, be sure to check out this video!

I love this and happy that it wasn't STRICT mid century styling, very beautiful and welcoming
I have 2 chairs and an ottoman very similar to your Sergio Rodrigues chair, mine are by Jean Gillon. I love your house !
😎 Its so Bright! I was expecting to see a more Mid Century feel, indoors. Mid Century holds a very dear place in my heart. Its nice for her, however. Very Modern through my eyes. Cheers!
Beautifully done 👏
Fellow San Franciscan here: really love this home. I’ve seen so many contractor remodeled mid century homes that are sterile, white boxes, and this is anything but. Love the architectural details, the art and all the finishes. Well done.
Wow!
Beautiful, thanks for sharing. I have seen another home, much, much larger, vibrant color, both homes are beautiful.
Love the daughter’s bedroom
- can you share where the wallpaper is from?
Is the kitchen faucet really oil rubbed “bronze” or did she mean “brass” I think Waterworks only offers brass /finishes not bronze materials. 🤔 maybe she misspoke
Contemporary design. Not a fan. Everything feels bland. So much solid colors. Feels like a hotel. Built ins are fine but can't we make them feel luxe? Or "vintage" even? Something to make it feel unique/personal, OLD! Has some history. The house is fine. I've seen it hundreds of times. The important thing is that the designer lives there and she likes it. So that's cool.
