I met Chubbs back the early 90's when I was on leave in the army. He was out of his patchwork quilt suit and in normal attire in his dressing room after a gig he did in Brentwood, Essex. He was such a gentleman and so down to earth. Unfortunately this cancel culture has forced comics like Chubbs to have venues cancelled etc...which is just ridiculous. people go to see him and they know what they are in for, so there really is no need to be upset. People these days are just utter basket cases and have to stick their nose into anything...wankers...

I completed a bucket list item when I was captured in the audience on one of his DVD's which happened to be the first chubbs gig I went to, I felt like a hypocrite chanting you fat bastard at him 😂

I can remember chubs getting thrown out of a catholic club in hartlepool for commenting on the crucifix saying I see they caught that tw*t who burgled that house. I saw him 40 years ago when he used to drag a toy dog on 4 wheels on stage behind him I often wonder what happened to that prop.
