As a 44 year old, I'm going "are these songs really TWENTY YEARS OLD!?" and then after confirming they are going off to stare into the abyss for a while...
Even though I was just around 4 years old when these songs came out, I still remember a lot of them because the Hungarian radio stations kept playing them over and over again for years... I can' t describe how grateful I'm feeling right now for having the chance to hear these mashups. They are truly a work of art at this point. Keep up the good work!

Songs not found yet but on the Spotify list: - Wilco "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart" - Good Charlotte "Girls & Boys" - The Polyphonic Spree "Light & Day/Reach For The Sun" (possibly the clip of the people in white robes, from the video for "Hanging Around")
I know it wasn't shown in the trailer, but I also hope Boards of Canada makes an appearance with one of the songs from their album "Geogaddi," also released in 2002. Edit: The artist list just released; I guess they won’t appear, oh well. But still looking forward to the other artists I know!
0:00 Missy Elliottt “Work It” (Audio: Snare drums sample + Stratches) 0:05 Justin Timberlake “Rock Your Body” (Lyric: “Talk to me, boy”) 0:07 The Vines “Get Free” (Lyric: “Come in, come in, come in”)
I was 7 in 2002 and I remember hearing all these songs on the radio. I wanted the fits, I had a crush on Avril Lavigne, and wanted to bleach my hair like Eminem.
Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane Eminem - The Eminem Show Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights The Notwist - Neon Golden Already excited for this one! See y’all next Thursday/Friday! Edit: The trailer is up! The 2002 mashup will feature: LCD Soundsystem, Wilco, Bright Eyes, Damien Rice, Sleater-Kinney, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rilo Kiley, The Flaming Lips, The Vines, Nada Surf, OK Go, Junior Senior, Maroon 5, Eminem, Interpol, The Notwist, Taking Back Sunday, The Streets, Doves, Clipse, The Polyphonic Spree, Good Charlotte, TLC, Missy Elliott, Truth Hurts, The Donnas, Tweet, Broken Social Scene, The Rapture, Caesar’s Palace, Electric Six, Oasis, The Used, t.A.T.u, Nelly, Phantom Planet, Hot Hot Heat, Sheryl Crow, Ladytron, Christina Aguilera, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Snoop Dogg, Jennifer Lopez, Avril Lavigne, Ashanti, Vanessa Carlton, B2K, Big Tymers, Ying Yang Twins, N.O.R.E., Justin Timberlake, Moby, Cam’ron, Birdman, Busta Rhymes, Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz, Sean Paul & Mario!
2002 has so many great tracks! OK, here's my prediction: The guitar riff from the opening of Eminem's "Lose Yourself", layered with the piano riff of Spoon's "That's The Way We Get By", with the searing vocals of Evanescence's "Bring Me To Life" (that is "How can you see into my eyes, like open doors?").
@@SirViette I have another prediciton, although we don’t know since the trailer isn’t out yet: the vocals and keys from Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” gets paired up with the instrumental from t.A.T.u’s “All the Things She Said.” I also really hope it opens with “Guess who’s back, back again!” from Eminem’s “Without Me.”
@@SirViette Given that the only copies of Evanescence's Fallen released in 2002 were CD-R's from December 2002 that were used as promos, I'm thinking they might qualify it as a 2003 release.
Here's my prediction, Audioslave's "Like a Stone" mixed with the organ of All-American Rejects' "Swing, Swing", followed by Tom Morello's riff mixed with the vocals from Christina Aguilera's "Fighter" and the brass and beat from the Notwist's "Pick Up the Phone" Also, the title card will have the Flaming Lips' "Do You Realize??" counting down, and the video will end with the piano from Sigur Ros' "Untitled #1". EDIT: Looks like some of those artists weren't shown in the trailer, lol
2002 - "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius" is Nickelodeon's first CGI movie...Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup made their superhero debut on the big screen in a prequel to the cartoon series in "The Powerpuff Girls Movie," while agents J and K return to the big screen to defend the galaxy against more violent aliens in "Men in Black II." Nickelodeon also releases a theatrical film based on the cartoon, "Hey, Arnold!," known as "Hey Arnold: The Movie." East coast discount store chain Ames finally goes out of business, with some of the locations reopening as Kohl's or Wal-Mart following significant renovations. National discount chain Kmart starts feeling the ripple effects of their 2001 chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by closing hundreds of locations out of the thousands they had across the United States in 2002. As of 2023, the number of Kmart locations in the U.S. can be counted on one hand with only two locations on the lower 48 states (located in New York and New Jersey), with the remainder being located in Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands...
I'm expecting/mostly-hoping-for Avril Lavigne "sk8er boi" and Good Charlotte "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" and Ashanti "Happy", maybe Lacuna Coil "Heaven's a Lie"? Kreo "Burn for You", Who da Funk "Shiny Disco Balls" and Benny Benassi "Satisfaction" (lots of club dance there). Missy Elliott "Work It" and Madonna "Die Another Day"... Also, I'm hoping very strongly that *Weird Al* makes an appearance in 2006 for "White & Nerdy"...! I know I'm getting ahead of myself here, but c'mon, how awesome would it be to get Weird Al in one of these!?
I'm also hoping for 2003, Sweet Trip makes an appearance. I mean, probably not, but there's always the possibility, since THI does put a good amount of indie/rym-core stuff in these mashups.
As a 28 year old, This decade has really hit me the deepest. The mashups instantly transport me back and bring up old memories. I have the biggest smile listening to these. Keep it up The Hood Internet!!!

this one is my favorite, the energy never goes down, it keeps on the entire time
I'm pretty hard core 80s, but being a true melophile, I can say this is a fantastic selection of songs! And the flow is just perfect! 💜

We've found at least one song from each artist in the list above.
Songs not found yet but on the Spotify list:
- Wilco "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart"
- Good Charlotte "Girls & Boys"
- The Polyphonic Spree "Light & Day/Reach For The Sun" (possibly the clip of the people in white robes, from the video for "Hanging Around")
I know it wasn't shown in the trailer, but I also hope Boards of Canada makes an appearance with one of the songs from their album "Geogaddi," also released in 2002.
Edit: The artist list just released; I guess they won’t appear, oh well. But still looking forward to the other artists I know!

Junior Senior has BLOWN up since this
You need to include Gorillaz-Stylo in the 2010 one, it was record-breaking in RUclips!
I was 7 in 2002 and I remember hearing all these songs on the radio. I wanted the fits, I had a crush on Avril Lavigne, and wanted to bleach my hair like Eminem.
This one was just okay. Maybe it just speaks to the quality of 2002 music.
Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane
Eminem - The Eminem Show
Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights
The Notwist - Neon Golden
Already excited for this one!
@@SirViette I have another prediciton, although we don’t know since the trailer isn’t out yet: the vocals and keys from Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” gets paired up with the instrumental from t.A.T.u’s “All the Things She Said.”
I also really hope it opens with “Guess who’s back, back again!” from Eminem’s “Without Me.”
@@SirViette Given that the only copies of Evanescence's Fallen released in 2002 were CD-R's from December 2002 that were used as promos, I'm thinking they might qualify it as a 2003 release.
Ah yes, a reminder of how long it took for Maroon 5 to enter into the public consciousness.
Here's my prediction, Audioslave's "Like a Stone" mixed with the organ of All-American Rejects' "Swing, Swing", followed by Tom Morello's riff mixed with the vocals from Christina Aguilera's "Fighter" and the brass and beat from the Notwist's "Pick Up the Phone"
Also, the title card will have the Flaming Lips' "Do You Realize??" counting down, and the video will end with the piano from Sigur Ros' "Untitled #1".
EDIT: Looks like some of those artists weren't shown in the trailer, lol
🔥
All the things she said is 20 years old?! Fuck I’m old.
Please...don't stop mixing those beats!
No quips about what happened in 2002??? lol
ah yer fine
There _was_ Spider-Man's first movie with Toby McGuire, and Super Mario Sunshine.
2002 - "Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius" is Nickelodeon's first CGI movie...Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup made their superhero debut on the big screen in a prequel to the cartoon series in "The Powerpuff Girls Movie," while agents J and K return to the big screen to defend the galaxy against more violent aliens in "Men in Black II." Nickelodeon also releases a theatrical film based on the cartoon, "Hey, Arnold!," known as "Hey Arnold: The Movie."
East coast discount store chain Ames finally goes out of business, with some of the locations reopening as Kohl's or Wal-Mart following significant renovations.
Virgin Islands...
oh that Electric Six tease!!!
Still #1. Tatu vs Big Tymers
LIT 💥💥💥💥
someone has a box with a lot of these cd's under the stairs
Will ya'll be doing artist mashups? Mariah Carey??
I finished college that year 😅
2002 the best!
This shit is like edging. It hits, but just not enough or long enough to finish lolol
Bops, Bops, and more Bops. Bops on top of Bops.
It's songs for the deaf: you can't even hear it!
