British Railways built 1,950 wagons designated for carrying pipes and a further 50 for paper rolls, B484xxx series, which were later designated as Pipe.
They remained in service until the early 1990’s.
About 20 have found their way into preservation.

Superb! A few years ago I also bought a half finished model of the same wagon, and finished it (though not as well as yours!). Sadly I no longer have it as I decided to leave O gauge, but it was a fun project

I started out in 00 as a kid like so many others, switched to O for a few years but found it way too expensive for what I wanted out of it. So switched back to 00

Good morning Mr train man. Hope you’re well 👍🏻 That was awesome 👏🏻 Your videos are amazing and of great quality especially with the talk over making it very clear to listen to 😊 Oooooh your Dads layout was a little tease for a future video 👍🏻 Take care on the rails buddy 🤩

Another excellent video, thanks again. Your comment about using prototype photos reminds me of something I read in MRJ a few years ago that what you think something looks like is not what it actually looks like. Your Dad’s layout looks good too, looking forward to seeing some videos on that please.

Nice job….I dabbled with O in about 2009 but realised my skills of painting and weathering would have to bear more scrutiny in that gauge so went back to OO. I fully agree wood is a b*tch to model, so I also have a lacking of patience with it

Why did I not put two and two together before now? "Wallsrail" and !Wallsea" - the connection should have been obvious.
I have seen your fathers layout as far back as the MRJ exhibition in the early 90s and have a couple of the Gauge O Guild DVD programmes of his layout, what a modeller!
And, for all of your personal 'put downs', so are you - of a different scale and era but you, as your father has done, have created a model of a railway with a 'back story' and using correct operating practices to produce a realistic model.
Does this mean you are going O gauge now and are going to convert Wallsea to the blue diesel era 🤣?

      😂😂👍
I once thought like you, trying to turn a four constituent railway into a corporate sea of blue n grey!!
Alas when I left home I the decision was made to leave the established to rule supreme until I could conquer the world in my own vision!!
      😂😂👍
