He has mention that before. Most of these things can be put in a script, so you only have to run after every update manually or automate it with task scheduler.😊
this is great, I appreciate that you take the effort and time to explain how to do this manually and locally with windows without the need of external programs, I will try some of this with my new installation of w10 on an old laptop I have, thanks a lot for these guides! ♥
I had downloaded O&O shutup last week from your previous video and pretty much all of your suggestions were already turned off. Couple of them like Cortana were still enabled. Good program. I used the 'recommended' settings and have been using it for a week'ish and have had zero issues so far.
For what it's worth, I have repeatedly deleted Microsoft Edge from my computer, and I figured out how to delete it so that it would not get re-installed, but then it made my system start behaving flakey. When I reinstalled Windows by mounting the ISO file and then running the windows setup with the option of keeping my files and apps, it completely cleared up the system problems. So now I still don't use Edge, but I don't delete it either.
Yes, I had a problem like that. A game I play was using Edge Web Viewer, and I had to install Edge to fix it. I don't like Edge too, but after changing a lot of settings, it now became good browser like crome. And it doesn't eat the ram like crome does
I watched a video from a user called Memory Tech Tips, the video was called _"DON'T Install WINDOWS Without Watching This FIRST!"_ Roughly three weeks ago. In that, he created something called an Answer File and slipped that file in the USB windows install (It can also be inserted it into an ISO) and it stopped windows installing all the bloat and telemetry from the get-go. It bypasses Win 11 requirements, and I installed Win 11 on an old 2012 3rd Gen office PC. Have you any thoughts on this method?
I've been waiting for a comprehensive way of removing all of MicroSucks grubby little paws. Thank you!

If you want to disable the web search in start menu, you can also just uninstall it from the list of installed programs and apps. It is called something like Bing Search or Web Search. Though, I assume this is only possible in Europe, as basically nobody seems to talk about this simple solution.

Wow this was a great video to watch. I am new to your channel. I was thinking of upgrading to windows 11 home since my freind told me that in Oct 2025 windows 10 wont be supported any more. Plus going to that website for a mad discount sounds pretty cool and afterwards i will disable windows 11 telemetry. Quick question will i loose any of my files in the upgrade? Do i have to go to whokeys for the upgrade key or is that done thru microsoft?
Yeah, It's probably just a red herring, that makes people think they are safe. I mean Windows has started ignoring group policy settings as well. So yeah, if you want real privacy. Then you just don't use Windows.

My wife just bought a win11 laptop for our daughter for school. I'm willing to disable stuff but I'm not sure what to disable. I don't want to cripple her laptop when she needs something working for an assignment she has to do in class. What is safe to disable without effecting her learning flow at school??
To be blunt, if you have to ask, you should probably leave it alone like 99.9% of people. Does your daughter have concerns about Microsoft collecting data on her computer use?
How to deactivate telemetry? The answer is simple: You can't! The first and biggest spy is the Defender, switch off the check with Online service and the next time you restart it will be on again. This bullshit that is shown here, with deactivation in the "Services"settings shows that he has no idea about Windows. Turn off the "WindowsUpdate", restart it and it will be turned on again, this also happens with the other services. Everything else is so deeply embedded in the system that you have no chance.
even if you don't care for privacy, these telemetries are hogging up your RAM, prepare to shell out more for RAM if you want your data to be sent to microsoft
If you install English International it removes a lot of the crap. Microsoft needs to comply with all the other countries in the world that have privacy laws. Like the rest of the world. Ive been told if you install Vietnamese and then switch to English you get lightweight Win 11. I havent tried it. Maybe some-one could test it?
These videos are always great! Too bad that the ongoing Windows Saga has been a downward spiral since like WindowsXp. Always the same crap with a new Windows, it's fine IF one can be bothered debloating and disabling a ton of crap. oh well, F you Microsoft as usual!
me too. Glad i switched to Linux yeears ago, the only telemetry I have is the one i voluntarily opt in to. which i do if its software i trust and want to support.
I wish I could just nuke Windows but there is software I use which won't work on Linux, and not with Wine either. So yeah until either these programs get Linux support or I somehow get myself unattached from them. I can't make the complete switch, although I like Linux. A lot :/
Me? I'm using windows because it's far better then any other OS for my needs. Linux/Ubuntu and macOS are both either to restrictive for gaming or don't fit within my working environment. My server runs an Ubuntu server OS. Either way nothing wrong with windows and the copilot add in is perfect really helps allot. People tend to hate a brand because they think it's cool to do so without any good reasoning 🤷
