My plug broke so i spliced another plug into the existing cord and it would work but very sensitive like a short if you moved the cord. Now wont light up at all? Tried to resplice and nothing? Havent opened casing yet but why would just repairing the cord make it not work? Any help would be great! Same charger you have in video.
I plugged my charger into a 240v ( unknowingly)and it sparked inside and wouldn't work anymore. I'm pretty sure I blew the fuse. Where can I get another one?
The fuse in this one is a 3.15A 250VAC/125VDC Slow Blow radial fuse from DigiKey, part number: 486-1473-ND: www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/schurter-inc/0034-6620/1730519
Im a welder so mu charger deals with a lot of metal dust. I had a spark in my charger and now it slowly blinks red meaning it's waiting for another battery to charge. Even if i only have one battery on it still acts like Ive got 2 at once. Would you think that would be the switching regulator that you mentioned? Sorry if i explained that bad
Your explanation sounds fine, but if it's powering up and flashing red, it's not going to be the switching regulator in the video. It's going to be something on the charge controller side of the circuitry. The switching regulator on the high voltage side is used for converting the plug power into the lower voltage required for charging batteries. It doesn't have anything to do with detecting batteries or their charge status.
Nice repair. I'm going to send this to a friend who uses Milwaukee chargers.
Thank you!
@@ThatElectronicsFoolwhen i insert battery, the red led is slow blinking- i measured voltage in 12v and 18v line on charger but no voltage
