Which catch was your favorite?
Prob the CN with BC blue berry and CN heritage unit.
Probably number 9 just because he gave you a horn show

I have seen a few of these and especially 685 as it trailed on a BNSF Coal train, and it's nice to hear the horn. Ngl BNSF 281 has visited here and leading trains in WA, but i missed it, one of the best k3la horns, lol.
Nice stuff! Happy to see the MACs and 70Ms out there like this in '23. Hopefully, it'll be similar in '24.
3:51 KCSM 4570 is a beauty of a Locomotive, with history since it was TFM 2670 🥰🥰🥰

Up 8464s horn sounded like one of the FEC SD70M-2s we had back in 2013
My favorite shot I have gotten this year is a BNSF invader ethanol train on the UP and it meeting a UP mixed freight with an NS ES44AC
#281’s k3la sounds almost exactly like the CPKC locomotive I saw yesterday in Lake Louise (Canada). Great video, and happy new year!
3:13 that power set was put togeather in galsburg the M-2 and WC HU came in on H-CNIGAL, they added everything else on it and set it on H-GALNTW.
For number 6, kinda surprising that CN’s Wisconsin Central heritage unit is running on the Hinckley sub. That should be on the CN Superior sub over here in Wisconsin

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but both sets of Northtown 75s are now relocated so finding them on the Lakes is going to be even harder now unless BNSF starts using them on the Grand Forks to Superior more (GFD has a couple sets)

Best train I saw in 2023 was the csx 1776 military/veterans unit… and it was just in a yard 😂

BNSF 558 Was the best warbonnet when it came on Staples Sub and Hinckley Sub Expect Heritage Units
Trying to find some time to return to the mainline. Otherwise looks like my catches are gonna be on the branch.
Local fans do prefer 'fanning the branch yet I miss the mainline at times.
#6 was very colorful! Have you been to Grandad bluff in La Cross, WI? It’s arguably the best spot in America for BNSF railfanning, especially for elevation addicts. La Cross is also my hometown!
Michigan hade a very big smoke problem too
I think the bad weather on UP 1988 kind of added to the shot, so I think it should've made it on the list.

I’ve seen UP 3022 before in Roseville, CA. It was 3rd in a manifest with UP 6236 2nd. And speaking of 2nd, i like the 2nd catch, the horn is the take for me

Some of my best catches of 2023 include CSX 1973, AMTK 130, 46, and 108, CSX Standard Cab Dash-8, foreign power, welded rail cars, and an Amtrak Qualification train

man oh man... awesome video!! although being a California based railfanner its all high spped passenger and great hornshows but hardly any freight, although i did catch 2 h2 or h3 BNSF sd40-2's crusing through old town at like 8:30 at night but yeah. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Boy we had one heck of a year on the Hinckley Sub! Still bummed out about missing 6310..., the CRAZY CN lashup... By the way I'm not doing a Top 10 this year. I'm doing a Best Moments and catches of 2023. Too much good stuff for a Top 10! Awesome video man!

Wait, so you’ve only seen two heritage units? On #6 there was CN 3069 (Wisconsin central heritage).
2 heritage units leading, forgot to clarify. Though I do often forget I caught CN 3069 😂
