So carefully and respectfully explained.. my hair feels loved!
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yesss!!! Same. We must remember to give our hair “extra love & care” on top of all the creative styles we do to it!❤❤❤❤
🙂Yes. Well done.
I am a 4A and my hair loves light serums and moisturizers, anything heavy weighs it down.
I have 3c, 4a, and 4b. I’m happy you explained 3c vs 4a. I’m not really sure if I have 4b in the back or 4a and possibly low porosity in the back. The front is definitely high porosity but when I moisturize the back it looks just like the front but it tends to be dryer in the back and looks more fro like. The front in some spots have a very loose curl, almost straight. The middle in definitely s curls but the back tends to go more fro like in a few days but the front maintains its curl pattern
I have the same three types of hair type as you! The back and top crown is a 4b and also dries out more and I have to def add more products plus do finger coiling to make it look defined. I’m learning more about my hair at the age of 46 😊
Good to mention that an individual can have 2 or more different textures on the head. I myself have 2C, 3A, and 3B at the same time. Love your videos and tips! 😊 (Just saw that you mentioned it in your type 3 video)
Tell me about it. 😂😂😂😂😂
This guy explained this better than anyone else I have listened to.
Very impressed with this video. An apt description of type 4 hair. His understanding is admirable.
Thanks dude, finally figured out what hair type I am from this video!! It’s only taken me 44yrs🤦🏽♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣
🥹 I feel this 😅
this is the best image examples I've seen! great vid!!
Wow, thanks!
I got 4a when my hair is wet and 4b when fully dried 😂
@@Dreamy-M i got Jay Z hair⚡️⚡️⚡️🤣🤣🤣🤣
Exactly
They say you know your true hair type when it's wet 😂
Thank you for sharing your knowledge on type 4 hair. I now know my hair type 😊😊😊
Thanks for this Mike!👍🏾 I'm a 4b and I wear my hair straightened to 1a.😏 We always want what we don't have.🤷🏾♀️
I have the same 4b hair, and it's so soft and coily when it's wet. However, it hugs itself to death that when dry, Itso is knotty, so having it straight stops the knots😂

This is interesting. I'm not a type 4 but have ppl in the family who do have it. Learning about all hair types is fun!
Great explanation!! I feel I’m a combo of all 3 within the 4 type hair texture ❤❤❤
All my confusion is gone so clear with proper real hair examples! Slowly and precise conveying of information. Thank you 😊 I’ve gone through loads of videos yours is the best.
I’ve been classing myself as 4C when I’m 4B and 4A at the back.
You know so much about our hair ❤, we appreciate your knowledge 🙏
Thanks for this video! Would love to see more Type 4 hair care videos from a hair dresser professional as on RUclips it's mostly just bloggers speaking from personal experience.
Thanks I learnt so much after decades of looking at these video subjects to help me with my hair…. This is so good!!! Thanks 🙏
😘😘😘❤️
Great job and well explained. A lot of miseducated rumors had us all thinking all brown and black women had the same curl pattern 4C, which isn't true. I have 4A my daughter has 4C. I would love you to make more videos about 4A type hair. Thanks
thats is such a nice review. Course I would! What would you like me to do ?
@@MikeDeCanter I would love to see more on 4A maintenance care & how to define the curl pattern most. Thanks.
@@MikeDeCanter thank you for the video 😊
I appreciated the thoroughness of your information and explanations. I have 4A 4B type hair.
I’m the girl with 3c on the sides and back and 4A at the crown of my head. It’s a struggle
This is the best video I’ve seen explaining coils and I could use ur help really. I have a weird curl shape pretty sure it’s 4c and I feel that my hair is damaged and I need help with what routine I should do to restore my hair.
I have 3c, 4a, and 4b....I started using a combo of light serums, heavy moisturizer and light oil 👍🏼my hair loved it. I have high porosity and other methods of moisturizing left my hair dry (even with carefully checking the ingredients). I learned I had to moisturize everyday, maybe twice a day to keep my hair happy.
Thank u for this I knew I wasn’t the usual 4c I have 4b hair
The majority of my hair is 4a/4b with a little bit of 4c.
This guy taught me more about my hair than the entire black community. 😂 Thank you ❤
Right? lol
😐
Same
Uhm ew. Then you clearly have yourself to blame. Where do you think he got this knowledge from? I can find plenty on RUclips just alone showing they made videos well over 2 years ago. SMH. I learned about it 15 years ago as a young black child. Your lack of education on your races hair types doesn’t reflect the black community as a whole. Do better instead of trying to give credit to people who aren’t black. This knowledge has been around in the black community long before he ever started in the hair business. Shame on you.
The only thing he should get credit for is properly educating himself on all types of hair before even thinking about touching them. Which is the bare minimum.
@@Heychampion 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Excellent information! Thanks!👏🏻👏🏽🤗
I enjoyed this series! I have them saved in my playlist. I have 4b on the sides with the top of my hair being 4a and the back being 4c
I enjoyed this and actually learnt a lot about my hair . Great work !!
This was really good. Very clear to understand
What is your accent? I love it! Also you explained this perfectly. I'm between 4A and 4B.
He's Irish
My hair in its natural state, is a blend of different textures, it’s thick. My hair soaks everything up. Sometimes it was difficult to understand my hair. But I have learnt a lot about the textures of my hair.
Can you do a video on products by hair types? What we should be looking for, etc?
As a 4c girl I can say this is accurate just from the cover picture of the vid
My hair is more tight in the back but i have s,z, and ovals. Also my roots that are not not bleahed or died are usally not defined when i curl it so o het more volume and definition in the ends but some ends are also not defined. Im confused.
My hair is weird. Before I locked it, it seems as though I have different strands in my head.
Very very helpful thank you❤
Type 4c😢😢 I can confess it's the hardest to manage 😢😢
Same here😢
Yes!!! I have had days where I’ve just cried
@@Resilient__one1 especially now that's winter, it's bad hair day all days 😮💨😮💨
Yes but it looks cool in afro form. My hair is mainly 4c so I keep it stretched during sleep. Deep conditioning weekly and sleeping with a bonnet is important.
@Malek-b Stretched how like plaiting? Will try deep conditioning🫣
Question can a person have all 3 types of 4A, B, C in their hair at the same time?. I feel that i do.. its challenging on how to style and use products
The fact he trying to tell me about my culture hair is hilarious 😂😂😂
Especially because it isn't quite right. Or if he's right, then I have a head of unicorn hair.... lol
Your culture doesn’t have a hair type. Maybe your ethnicity does. And anyone can be educated about hair types… especially if it’s their job to do hair.

@@maverickbull1909 no you don’t know what your speaking of nor ever will. Take a seat back on this one. I said what I said. It changes nothing 🤧🎤♟️
@@Eyecandyzee i do know and I’ll keep standing ten toes on it since you’re ignorant
Thank you for the explanation 😊
I thought i had 4c but every time I get it done, the stylist tells me I don't so I'm confused. Maybe it's 4A or 4B? It also doesn't hold curls well except in the back.
Thank you for this video 🙏🏽❤❤
Great video but I'm still unsure of what my hair type is 😕
the hair around my hairline, nape & edges is very loose, soft, with clear curl patterns, that grows quickly - possibly 4a (?) but the hair growing from my crown is very dense, shrinks and is undefined... I don't know if it's 4b/c!?! it is genuinely cotton-like & puffs up, even with water/moisture...it still has low porosity & so different from the rest of my head
Well done!
You sound kinda Irish☘🇮🇪 . I have a mix of 3c in front and 4a at back. Some women can have 2 or 3 diff textures on their hair. Growing up other women told me they don't just have 1 uniform texture either.
Thank you my brother for breaking it down!
Hi Mike! Happy to see your videos on the hair types. You made me realize that I've been classing myself as 4a but I really am 3c. I found you from your Kerastase videos and I purchased 3 products due to your videos. I must say I really am pleased with them as my hair feels amazing now. I got the curl manifesto mask, the discipline line's keratine thermique and the Elixir ultime oil. I do have a question for you though. Do you think I should buy more of the Discipline line for the days I choose to do a blow out and flat iron? I live in the Caribbean and just the thermique has done a good job with keeping my hair from reverting due to the humidity. It makes me wonder if I use the shampoo, mask, and conditioner if the results will last even longer. Would love your advice.
hey hey yes and no depending how often you flat iron your hair
Tbh you probably have both curl patterns on your hair it’s quite common to have multiple different textures. 3c/4a gang 🤙🏾
No lie i was ready to roll my eyes. Learned sooo much. Still dont know what i have because im lazy but this video was tops!
☆💙 Yesss!Type 4A Lady Here😉🩵☆
The best video on it since my search on RUclips as a AA. Im glad I found your video. Thank you 🙏
What’s the best product if you more than 2 different hair type?
Thankyou for the detailed explanation 😊
He lied to you.
@@Isaiah09405how? You sound salty
4c it’s me fragile. I can’t do much with my hair. Tired of wigs already. But it’s winter and it makes my hair dry.
Hi I found your video very interesting, thank you for the advice, yes I’m 4b, and my hair needs lots of moisture, my hair also puff up when I go outdoors so now my style is gone.
Mike you are the best
My hair weird it’s very loosely curled when wet but won’t form girls when it dries it’s like 4D
Thank you for this information, i have learnt i have 3c 4a type
You can’t have 3C/4A hair he clearly explained that
@Seruzul 3C and 4A are extremely different one grows downward the other upwards. 4A and 4B are way more alike verses 3C/4A. Which he explains in the video dum-dum
I still confused if I'm 3c or 4a 😢
Me too. Depends on how I treat it . Anything between 3b and 4b
Maybe you have both
Thank you for the video!
Yeah my hair grows out and up!!
Thank you Mike
Thank you so much ❤❤❤
I have type 4C, it can be hard work but worth it. Mine hair are mini ringlets, my hairdresser is obsessed with them 😂.
I have 4c but I don’t have a hairdresser I can trust to do my natural hair. I don’t like doing my hair myself anymore. I get those cute mini ringlets too but I don’t want to do it myself every other day.
Great Video, I am type 4A
Do the models have no product. I'm still confused
Ok, so what do you do when you have multiple textures? Like my hair up top is more coiled, but my hair on the sides are more on the curly/straight side. I look at all of these videos and feel like each section describes characteristics of my hair 🤦🏽♂️. Everyone is always telling me “you should take care of your curls” but no one ever has any helpful tips.
My type is 4c. Tough childhood 🥲
THE PRETTIEST AND MOST VERSATILE TYPE OF HAIR
How 🤔 does he know so much about black hair? Wow!😮
Thank you I'm all 3
You're only 4a and a mix of 3c too cause yes hair can have mixes
Your not
@kaizatengoku3893 bro you don't know me and for the record having more than one curl type is normal
Hi Mike, thanks for the education( 3c/4A always dull and dry= shrinkage, puffy, frizzy mess - any advice??). Thanks for listening and asking questions(read your comments). Subscribed!!!
I wouldn’t call type four coily cause it’s not as the type A pictures looks wrong, I would expect it to be less in the tightness of the crils
Some of my hair is in different categories, at least 3 😂😂😂
Not all 4a hair grows up. It does however grow out.
My daughter has combination hair from 3b to 4 c the front is difftent from the middle and the back totally loose wave texture 😢
Lie
As a black person there’s a few things I want to say
Our hair does in fact get oily, it actually can end up being far more oily than other hair types
Our hair is very light and dense compared to other hair types so it tends to have more volume
Our curls actually clump very very easy, all it takes is water, we actually can in fact go without products to achieve our curl patterns, the hair will just need to be combed only in the shower and not outside of it(use fingers to detangle and do not comb dry)
EVERYONE with Curly hair has to consider whether they have low porosity or High porosity hair when thinking about how my hair hydration their hair needs and work to keep the hair’s PH levels in the desired range.
Type 4A to 4C hair can be more stretchy and actually can be one of the most easy to take care of hair types if you know what your doing, remember to finger detangle in the shower only and do not comb dry, this hair type isn’t going to be hanging down your back we are not white people! If you are black go to a black hair care channel to actually learn about our hair. While this stylist can tell what hair types he’s looking at he clearly does not actually fully understand Our hair and that’s okay.
And like I said before I cannot stress enough that Our hair does not need products to thrive and grow, stop treating your hair like you are white and it will be healthy and grow well
I’m so happy to finally to know this
i thiught i had 4c, but turned out i have 4a
Hi i have 4b not 4a lmao
What Kind of type 4 of hair had Michael Jackson in the band Jackson 5?
He looked like a 4b for sure.
I believe 4b or 4c
4a. He picked it out.
4a, 4b, 4c isnt fragile that is a lie floating on the internet, that hair ia quite strong.. the more you know...
The stands are fragile though
no you are wrong. type 4 hair may seem strong but it is very weak, fragile and needs lots of moisture. That is just the way it is by nature.
I learned a lott here
Thanks for the explanation!
My 4c shrinkage anoyying sometimes😢
I thought i had 4b now im thinking i have 4a😭
I'm 14 with 4b hair type this helped me.. sometimes I just can't maintain my hair 🤣🤣
I think I have 4c cause my shrinkage is crazy 😂

that is not 4a
Did not see an image for 4c hair

That’s why I always correct people who say they have 3C/4A because both types are very different
