Kevin Harlan caught me off guard with how fast he was announcing Harrell's reverse layup 'Harrell, takes advantage of a falling defender Jackson and PUTS IT IN! WHAT AN ACROBATIC SHOT BY MONTREZL HARRELL!
Style-wise (except Memphis), Louisville struggled with teams who pounded the backboard that season (UNC, UK, at home against UC). This game was the only one they won that year when facing teams of that style. Cincinnati was a 5 seed in Virginia’s bracket partially because of similarly slow tempos that Bennett and Cronin both like to play albeit differing defenses (Bennett, a pack line man to man while Cronin who was once a Pitino assistant, mainly played a matchup zone built around long athletic players).
Agreed. Chane Behannan and Kevin Ware hurt us that year! If they had behaved and kept their act together Louisville would have repeated. Oh well…Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda.
FACT: This was the first time the Cardinals have defeated Cincinnati in their arena since 2009. (since then, the Bearcats had won both home games in 2011 and 2012).
j brook Good point. I was just referring to the home games between both schools. We defeated the Bearcats at Freedom Hall the next season, but lost to them in the Big East Tournament that year.

Kevin Harlen will own College Basketball games!! Greatest man in the history of all in sports
CBS should have Harlan call Final Four games instead of Nantz.
