      The cardiac Cards. Down 17 here, and down by 12 in the Final Four and championship games but they still won. F the NCAA, still champs.

      Both sentimental. But this is one of the most satisfying comebacks ever. The entire city AND announcers pulling against them. Trezl' breakout! Relentless defense. By 15 minutes left, the look in their eyes from the bench to the players on the floor, you could see they were locked in and all on the same page. Never seen so much determination.

      I'm a Louisville fan and nothing in sports saddens me more than watching all of us leave the Big East. Big East basketball was maybe my favorite thing to watch in all of sports. And nothing beats the Big East tournament at the Garden. I'm glad the Big East is still one of the best conferences.

      @@jasonmilly3320 I'm UofL fan too and as strong as the ACC is for a b-ball conference, I think the the Big East during that era was the best ever as far as from top to bottom no easy wins.

      I miss the Big East. Loved it way more than I do being in the ACC now. The Big East was the most dominant. It also had more than just two teams winning championships. This century alone, Syracuse, UConn three times, Louisville (unless you live in fairytale land and don't count it) and Villanova two times.

    This game happened the ncaa can erase what they want but the sex scandal is not as bad as what the media makes it out to be. They won straight out for the national title and the sex scandal didn't help them win it but other Universities have gained by winning with academic fraud and Penn State had done the absolute worst with that scandal and no games vacated. This says alot especially with Michigan State who was in a sex scandal and it didn't draw the amount of attention as did Louisville.

    • @billyd.1872
      @billyd.1872 3 года назад +5

      Yeah that was ridiculous, I think the folks with the NCAA had a personal vendetta against Pitino and the University. UK and UNC have alot of influence in the NCAA brass and did everything they could to bury UofL and try to keep them out of the ncaa tournament picture for as long as they can to give there teams a little easier road to the title. A perfect opportunity to take out one of the elite coaches and programs that could definitely be a thorn in both of their sides. Imo

    1:13:39 Oh, man, I remember getting upset the first time they called Dieng for that foul at the 14:11 mark of the 2nd half. He was standing there a full second before Carter-Williams ran into him. Watching this again, I'm still upset about it! haha

    • @Machtyn
      @Machtyn 4 года назад +1

      1:27:56 Okay, the non-call on Luke Hancock at 9:34 makes up for it, I guess. :D

    • @Machtyn
      @Machtyn 2 года назад

      The commentators going on about the two fouls the one referee made, both were legitimate fouls. The first one Luke Hancock was in the shooting motion when his defender grabbed his arm. The second one he nearly gets forearm pushed away. And my comment above about the non-call on Luke, I'm wrong, the ball handler had lost control before the bump and it would be considered a free ball at that point.

    One of my favorite games in 41 yrs of Louisville bball. For one obvious reason. But also because besides Bilas, the ridiculous homerism of old ass Raftery and co. Pissed me off so bad, it made it so much more fulfilling! His tone/complaints of calls against Cuse, etc.I know Raftery is an old School "traditional" Big East guy, and boy did some of his comments and tone give it away. #CARDS
