Thanks for much for tuning in. This morning I woke up and felt inspired to film this video, hope you enjoy ❤️ let’s see if we can get this video to 200 likes
My grandma always applied a little makeup in the morning. Powder, eyebrow pencil, lipstick, and she would put a little lipstick on her cheeks for a healthy glow. She was always so pretty and she always had beautiful skin well into her 90s.
My great grandmother looked like Betty White. She was the cutest thing ever. She was 103 years old when she died, and up to final day (even after being hit by Alzheimer’s in her late 90’s), she always took care of her appearance. She would come downstairs in the morning all dressed up, perfect hair, with perfume on, tinted lip balm, a little blush, curled eyelashes, just one light coat of mascara. She was truly perfect in that way. That was always very French of her although she was Italian. ☺️❤️
As a French girl myself, I can say you totally nailed that fresh and natural makeup look 🦋🌷 Also this video gave me vogue-esque vibes and I'm all here for it !
I live in the United States but someday I want to take my boys to France. I'm a widowed mom with two young boys so it probably won't happen but a girl can wish.
beautiful, this kind of natural makeup is honestly my favorite & i appreciate you showing a full tutorial, because every time i’ve tried to research how to do a look like this they’re usually really short, clipped videos i have to piece together on either just ‘here’s how to do the complexion’ or ‘how to do the eyes & brows’.
I finally noticed that French women didn't appear to use eyeliner, eyeshadow, contouring or any of the other things you see on these ultra complicated RUclips videos. I'm all for it. Trying to figure out the best way to dilute my foundation so it doesn't look like a mask - right now I just use this hydrating face spray but if anyone has a better suggestion feel free to comment.
I'm in Paris and this is not really true. For everyday, less makeup is more for the most part, but students and other young ladies are def playing with makeup and hair. "French girl" aesthetic is a specific type of Parisian woman that's more or less not that visible.
Tbh this is what makeup was supposed to be about- enhancing your features, not creating harsh lines and using 500 different products just to cover up what you've naturally been gifted with! This was a great video, I'm now subscribed to your channel :)
Ugh I literally didn’t though? I said “this is what makeup was supposed to be about” - implying that this was what makeup was created for. Women all around the world, not just in the west, used makeup either to enhance their features or create a specific look, however I personally believe that using makeup to completely change your facial structure is mentally harmful and if a woman is doing that because she feels insecure, then I feel sorry for her! I used to be in that boat where I’d use a ton of makeup to cover everything because I was really that insecure. I hated that time of my life and I’m glad I was able to move past it! I don’t think there is ANYTHING wrong with encouraging women to flaunt what they naturally have! Of course, if heavy makeup looks aren’t because of insecurity then of course women should go for it because we all should do what makes us happy. Stop trying to twist my words.
I am French, I work in cosmetics and for me, you are an alien. In a good way 👍 You really do take care of yourself and are passionate about beauty❤️ But that is honestly absolutely not the case for the majority of women in France who do care WAY more about fashion and dressing great than having a smooth and wrinkles free skin. Even in medical beauty centers with clients affording very expensive procedures, you see these French customers who are not serious about their beauty regimen. They come to "fix" things at some point with a surgeon but are not consistent with a beauty regimen back home neither with their life style (many smoke, drink alcohol every day and love to get tan). Conclusion : I wish to see more and more French women like you regarding beauty and self-care ❤️
Yeah, I'm American but living in Paris and I feel that American women are more concerned with beauty - albeit not necessarily in a healthy way. I'm especially shocked by the amount of smoking I've seen, even kids so far.
So true. While there might be women in France who do what this woman is doing, I doubt it’s the norm. I’m thinking this stereotype of the natural minimalist routine French girl originated with the very small population of models in the big cities. Just like here in the US, everyone thinks we all wear a ton of makeup, when in reality, it’s the social media types and celebrities piling the makeup on, the average American woman does not.
Very charming, informative, a great presentation, and truly a refreshing and enhancing approach - shocking how effortless yet perfect this approach comes together
Yay so happy to hear. French style (and minimalist wardrobe) is so my aesthetic as well. Love reflecting that in my makeup and skincare (more makeup because I’m definitely a skincare Junkie) as well
Im definitely going to do this on Eid this Sunday! Gon look amaziing, I usually dont put on makeup at all so this look is easy enough to me as a lower level than a beginner😂
As a Parisian, I can categorically tell you highlighter is not very french. Blush, however, is always in a french girls arsenal, but we do NOT contour! Make up should look like it’s a part of you, not the other way around. If you’re french that is. By highlighter, I mean the glittery sparkly ones. French beauty will consist of highlighting balms. RMS luminzer can be found in a lot of french girl make-up bags. (Including mine) 🌹
I LOVE French makeup. It is sooo my style and my kind of makeup. I’m kinda sad though cuz I have really small lips and I feel like French makeup they always have really full lips so I feel like I’m missing something 😭
Same, love French everything, from makeup, perfume, to food and books and fashion, etc. I wish I was French but doubt I have any French descent in my blood 🥺💔
Most of French girls have thin lips and it’s just about embracing it 🥰 What makes you pretty is the grace of your smile and the fire in your eyes... makeup is for enhancing your features ♥️
That's my French beauty style.. Lazy but beautiful.. Lol.. Effortless. I focus on skin care.. And minimal make up.. Red lipstick and beautiful skin do the trick
@@GabrielleMeloff I'm sorry, but I'm not really educated enough on this topic to help you. I have three cousins born and still live in France and they've told me about the stereotypes. I'm really sorry if I seemed kind of rude in my comment! But if you still need help I can ask them. ❤
Great tips. I noticed that you didn't wash your face with water. I'm wondering if that is enough to be clean. What about removing the night cream? By using the lipstick as a blush does that make your skin break out? It seems like it might be too heavy and clogging. But you do have gorgeous skin and beautiful eye colour. Great video and looking forward to more videos.
Hi, I love this so much, I have combination skin that is prone to acne and dry patches :( as well as terrible hereditary drak circles so I usually end up putting a lot of make up on my skin. I really want to try a natural look, but its hard to do this. Any tips or ways to help me?
For the skin I know that SVR saved my skin! I don't know if it's only in France or available world wide but if you manage to find it buy the serum (green bottle)! As for makeup, it will take some time to accept but applying concealer only on your red spots and a little bit under your eyes (put on a color correction to counter balance the darkness). Try to work in light layers instead of one thick layers. Try to put on most of your work on something that you like about your face ( if it is the eyes, curl your eyelashes and put on mascara and maybe thight line them, if its your lips find a colour that makes you feel like a bad ass!). Put on a good mosturizer beforehand and you are good to go love!
I have the same type skin. I’m trying to detox off of my full makeup routine. Lately I do a serum, my Differin gel, sunscreen moisturizer. Eye brightener for under eye circles, no concealer. Mascara + red lip. Sometimes I spot conceal if my nose or cheeks are distractingly red. My acne heals faster when I don’t wear makeup, but it’s hormonal so I really need to get to the dermatologist because it happens no matter what my routine. Good luck! ❤️
I just subscribed. I really really love HOW you apply your makeup. I’ve read a lot about how French women apply their makeup and of course they’re not a monolithic block but I have read that they apply their lipstick like you’re doing it here. I see a lot of people applying a full swipe of very opaque red lipstick and saying it’s the French way but I believe most Parisian women would find that too garish, right? I really love how you applied your red lipstick here.
My only question is...do french girl not set their makeup with powder? Cuz I've seen a few french girl makeup videos and very few use setting powder. I've been doing that natural beauty look for a while now but I have to set it cuz my skin is oily, but within an hour it blends with my skins natural oils and just looks like I have really flawless skin. I'm just curious at this point
I’m Parisian (and a Derma) I have never touched setting powder in my life... nor do we use any contour, or heavy bronzer. The majority of us believe that we wear the make-up, not the make-up wears us. Our mothers taught us to look after our canvas - skin care, skin care skin care! 🌹
Natural glowy look shows confidence and that is effortless, chic and classic beauty. Too much makeup will almost always end up looking tacky and giving out this “try -too-hard” vibe, and shows insecurity.
Thanks for sharing! I think I mentioned in the video that I applied bronzer and highlights because I love it - despite it not being traditional. But maybe I’ll do an updated one from all the amazing input

I'll need to remember I'm chic, not lazy, when I used my tata harper cheek tint on my cheeks, eyes and lips.
Haha exactly!!
I do that with all of my cream blushes. I like the monochromatic look.

I just really like the idea of soft makeup that doesn't make you look perfect and synthetic.
You look more French in the first part, without makeup and natural hair :)

"French girl" aesthetic is a specific type of Parisian woman that's more or less not that visible.
As for your foundation, skip it and try only using concealer for dark spots. Skin tints are great too
Mix it with your moisturizer

Yep, that's me. Lack of time in the morning makes me a true " french girl" :):):) Never have time for complex makeup looks or fake eyelashes

minimal, chic, fresh and beautiful!
Once you put bronzer and highlighter, it’s no longer French girl beauty.
Bronzer is quintessentially French; blush & highlight, not so much 😂
Wendy V. Not Paris, I’m guessing? Happy to be proven wrong, but all my French friends say the same thing - terracotta to the exclusion of all else!
Why not? Bronzer and highlighter can be super efortless and look natural
Ali Kat blush I a French thing lol what are you on about we have always worn blush
