Base from my experience, app2usb is better than using the default PS4 extended drive method. Using the default extended drive method, for some reason my external hdd got damaged and won't get repair and having the CE-30022-7 error message.

IIRC you can change your avatar icon on your phone or PC browser. I changed mine to an enemy type from the Dark Souls series. However I don't think anyone else can see it. When me and my GF play online she can only see my most recent official avatar. But I always see my custom one on screen and when selecting "who's using this controller?". I think it's mostly for us to see. It makes sense that others cannot see the custom ones. Otherwise people would make them really offensive....or well....some really crappy people do that lol

yes there are new linux versions now too ,i think there are like 3 now ,kali and fedora and i think one other one but maybe it's only the 2 and one i saw people running CEMU on and thy had BOTW playing a decent playable speed on a pro , not sure if it would work on a fat too what i want to know is , where can we put linux ? i mean do we need a separate HDD can you it install to the internal drive or an external HDD formatted as PS4 storage or does it have to run from a separate HDD or can it run from a HDD with this apps2USB with a separate partition for linux or even without a separate partition for linux i just got a 6tb external drive and would really like to get everything set up on that one drive and not having to use apps2usb would be better i think for me since i only plan on using this drive with the PS4

You can use any Usb Hdd or Usb stick, you have to format first the device as ExFat One tip - 120 Gb is small, you can fit in only 1-3 games, AAA title, or around 5 to 7 games from the rest.
Any HDD will work, you’re just going to have to take into consideration the 2.5mm HDD case size so external HDD is the way to go or jerry-rig it and prep the fitting for the internal. Not really that difficult I guess but can be a pain in the ass, just mainly time consuming...
I HAVE A 4TB HARD DISK. I'VE CREATED 2 PARTITIONS 1) 1.68TB, 2) 1.98TB. THE FIRST ONE IS FORMATTED AS EXFAT, THE OTHER ONE IS AS NTFS. I USE 1ST PARTITION FOR PS4 AND 2ND ONE FOR THE DESKTOP. IT IS WORKING AS IT SHOULD.

You used to be able to when the 5.05 first came out, the first couple months we could mod online but that was a mistake on the behalf of the people who developed and released the exploit/failbreak. No intention for the online community too be touched, look what happened to PS3... let the PS5 fully release first.

I have a jailbroken PS4, everything was fine until today I was trying to install AC Syndicate form an external 1TB USB 3 HDD and it took 3+ hours to finish,( I installed the game before with all the Dlcs, but it didn't take more than 20 minutes tops). So I tried another drive with a 3gb game and it took more than half an hour to install. If Anyone know the reason, I'd appreciate the help... Thanks in advance
Use an SSD instead the classic HDD. Do you have the skills/tools to take out your PS4 HDD and test it for bad sectors or errors on a pc/laptop? Don't format anything, just take out your ps4 hdd, put it into an usb adaptor and scan it for errors.
I have the skills, but not the tools. I just had the PS4 for about 3 months now. and never had this problem, so I wasn't sure what caused it. Every game I have on the external HDD takes forever to install, instead of taking mere minutes like before and I made sure it is not the external HDD. So if you're saying it's because of the internal HDD and not something else in the console, does Initalizing the PS4 fix the issue? Cuz that's the only thing I thought about doing all the time. @@Pranav_m_Mistry You don't seem to get it, if you turn off you ps4 and then turn it back on it is in fully stock mode, the exploit is not permanent it doesn't make any permanent changes and its not a custom firmware so you are only jailbroken after running the exploit each time after the system boots... If you want to get rid of any fake package games then you can just reintialise your ps4 offline so you are back on a fresh 6.72 ps4, and if you ever want to update then just run the updates enabler payload

Download another RDR2 pkg, maybe the one you've got was not backported very well. The pgk from DUPLEX needs 6.72 FW anyway, what version you use? If you want to update your PS4 off line just download this file and do the update - drivers.softpedia.com/get/gaming-consoles/Sony/Sony-PlayStation-4-Firmware-6-72.shtml
The exploit if for 6.72. The lower part means if you're on a lower firmware than 6.72 you can update to 6.72 to do the exploit. If you're higher than 6.72 you cannot downgrade.

Install on your ps4 first then use app2usb because then ps4 does not recognize your external hard drive anymore

So if you're saying it's because of the internal HDD and not something else in the console, does Initalizing the PS4 fix the issue? Cuz that's the only thing I thought about doing all the time.

About checking your hard drive - was a hint.. maybe the internal hdd got some damage, I don't know.
@@yoshy2628 I already did a database rebuild (take it from me DON'T EVER do it if you have a jailbroken PS4), and it didn't fix the issue...

So I have two ps4s, one is jailbroken and one is on current software. I want to copy my retail games over from my external hard drive coming from my un jailbroken ps4 in to my jb ps4.. Doing that I came across the issue of it saying I don’t have the license for it. I figured oh i just gotta enable hen but no it still says it . Is their a possible fix?

Me too because 650GB is not enough storage for me at all. Will run ps4 games off my eHDD. Of course won't do that with PS5 games (you can't. Those have to be on internal storage)

@@Pranav_m_Mistry You don't seem to get it, if you turn off you ps4 and then turn it back on it is in fully stock mode, the exploit is not permanent it doesn't make any permanent changes and its not a custom firmware so you are only jailbroken after running the exploit each time after the system boots...
If you want to get rid of any fake package games then you can just reintialise your ps4 offline so you are back on a fresh 6.72 ps4, and if you ever want to update then just run the updates enabler payload

I am running on ps4 5.05 jailbreak with 1.6Hen, I installed Spiderman and God of war and they work fine, but when i tried installing rdr 2, it showed please update your system software to use external storage, my ps4 has 350 gb of free storage, please can anyone help me? I tried using a external hdd in my ps4 to extend storage, but when i try installing games on it my ps4 crashes, i removed the hdd and tried installing rdr 2 on my internal storage yet it shows 'please update system software to use external storage' Is there a way to fix it? Download another RDR2 pkg, maybe the one you've got was not backported very well.

The exploit if for 6.72. The lower part means if you're on a lower firmware than 6.72 you can update to 6.72 to do the exploit. If you're higher than 6.72 you cannot downgrade.
