The Prince of Western Australia - Travel Deeper Australia (Ep. 9)

- There are a million things to do in Western Australia so I rented a car in Perth, and set out on a road trip! From the dunes of Lancelin, and Limestone rock formations of the Pinnacles Desert, to the Pink Lake and Kalbarri National Park heading north, Western Australia's landscape is absolutely stunning.
However, my goal was to travel deeper and learn more about the people who call this region home.
Thanks to the women at my Bed & Breakfast in Geraldton, I heard about one man in particular with an incredible story.
This man was Prince Leonard George Casley of Hutt River.
The Principality of Hutt River, previously known as the Hutt River Province, is a self-proclaimed micronation in Australia.
And although Australia doesn't recognize their independence, the principality claims to be an independent sovereign state and to have achieved legal status on 21 April 1970, after Prince Leonard didn't want to follow the new wheat quota laws.
As I mention in the video, he was a fascinating man!

Fantastic vid. I never thought about road-tripping western Australia but damn that looks like fun. Great production quality, felt like watching a tourist show on public TV!
Thank you Edgar, that is eventually the goal! ; )
Super awesome video! Funny, touching, and I learned something new. Thank you Gareth!
Thank you for watching!
Why do you only have 25k subs? You deserve much more! Keep up the fabulous work, your time will come!
Thanks Cody, I appreciate that! As long as I'm having fun making videos, and people enjoy watching them, I'm not worried about subscribers, but hopefully more people will catch on in due time! haha
That's a bloody big cake you're trying to dry-hump at the start, impressive ! That Hutt River story is amazing, I've just gone and read all about it, that is why I love your channel, wee gems of information like that come from off-piste travel. All the best.
Haha! Thank you!!
I get a huge thrill out of seeing your videos, it reminds me that everyday the sky is the limit and proud to be a fellow Hilton kid. Cheers to living the dream!
Thank you so much for following along!! #GoCadets
Great story! I want to play around in those sand dunes!
It's like a giant beach on steroids, so much fun! That isn't to say I approve of steroids, don't do drugs you guys.
I just want to know how was it so easy for you to drive a right hand sided car on the left side of the road so well?..... and thanks for coming

Wow... Cool landscapes! Great video again.
When were you there? What would be a good season to visit that National Park?
Thank you! I was there in July, which is low season, so it's a great time to visit Kalbarri National Park and the surrounding attractions without too much of a crowd.
Gareth Leonard wow thanks!
Another wonderful video. Someday soon your content is going to get the credit it deserves.
Thank you so much Krista! As long as the people who watch my videos feel this way, I'm happy!
