      I was super impressed by that win for Tom. He surprised me, to be honest I thought Sergei would win. Tom has amazing skills and talent imo. He's special. I hope he can get the Jones fight next. If Tom beats Curtis, it would be total bs if Alex skipped him in line imo. I'm a big Poatan fan, but Tom has been trying for that fight for forever, I feel he should get it if Jon fights again after Stipe. Imo.
      ..Assuming Francis is off the table. The only person I would be okay w getting the Jones fight before Tom would be Francis, bc he was actually in line even before Tom lol! Francis v Jon has been my dream fight, still is and will be.. But when I think about it, I think Francis is the scarier fight for Jon, but Aspinall might be the worse matchup for Jon I think. I could be wrong tho, just imo. I feel like there is a more clear path to victory for Jon against Francis than Tom, and Tom maybe bit faster and more well-rounded. But there is maybe higher chance of getting blasted into orbit by Francis so idk lol

    I agree Aspinall is next but I think it's unfair do be so dismissive of Stipe's argument for a shot, everything you said is true but it leaves out the added context of his last fight being a title defence, him being the record defence holder and having a stellar resume at heavyweight. His last 10 or so fights have all been at an elite level.

      You might not look at tom for advice on how to move as a heavyweight, tom is great but he does a lot of things that only work because he's so fast. He's a great guy to look at but just don't try to do a 1 to 1

    I love this breakdown, but I also love the fact that Jon already knows this lol. He's a film freak, and 100% knows everything to know about Tom. I think he beats Stipe, and goes after Tom afterwards. I'm a fan of both guys, more so Jon bc of his tenure so I may be biased hoping he wins but I know it's gonna be one hell of a fight so I'm hoping it happens!

    Jones doesn’t want to actually fight, he’s afraid to fight someone like Tom. He’s a dirty fighter that wants to pretend he’s the “goat” when he isn’t he’s good but he needs to fight someone like Tom for me to put him in Goat status.

    8:35 How likely is it that Aspinal noticed that Sergei's cross hook was going to make it to Toms face first and actually managed to react fast enough and go from a wide overhand with his left hand to a into a lead hook so the forearm could redirect the punch coming at him. Because it looks like that's what happened there.

  • @tomedinburgh4490
    @tomedinburgh4490 Месяц назад +1

    UFC always prided itself on best vs best. They let their best heavyweight leave, gifted the belt to Jones because of his amazing LHW record, and are now protecting him so he can be their "GOAT" Stipe hasn't won in years, Jones has barely fought at HW. Aspinal has made the division look easy and is the real champ. Just strip Jones, the the Stipe fight is still a legends retirement match that folks will still be interested in. Keeping an asterisk next to Aspinal and Jones talking him down just diminishes the future of the division

    Tom currently tops all time statleaders in ufc record book. Four 1st positions with 1st shortest av fight time, 1st best striking diff at 4.95, 1st least bottom position time 1 sec, 1st least bottom position %, 3rd most avg strikes p min, 3rd most knockdowns p 15 mins. He wd be 2nd all time strike accuracy at 67% after overeem if he met 350 strike threshold and 1st for takedown defence and 1st for takedown accuracy both at 100% if met 20 threshold. Gsp, miller and Oliveira are joint 2nd with three firsts each.

    Miocic was fast-handed and had slick movement through the cage for someone in the heavyweight division but he's certainly not on the level of speed of some of the new guys. He was out-performed on speed by Cormier in the first two fights and in some moments of the third fight.

      It's the fact that his grappling is top tier as well that makes him dangerous. On the feet, Jones has nothing for him. And statistically, Tom's takedown and submission ratio is far better than Jon's.

    Obviously Jon Jones won't fight againgst Aspinall because of difference of ages and other factors which Jones affraid of, but I would see which gameplay will choose Jones in this match. However, Aspinall isn't dump and he knew what awaits himself with Bones at the octagon. Honestly, would be better when the match will finally took place betweem Stipe and Jones.
