    If you're using a mapping app like Google maps to get scale, it's not accurate by any stretch of the imagination.
    A customer once insisted that we use Google maps instead of a tape measure on site.
    I proved to him that Google maps was not accurate. In our case it was off by 3,000 square feet on a 6,000 sq.ft.partial.

    While it would suck that we’re gonna get the 3rd clone of Frozen Ever After and a 4th clone of the 7 Dwarfs Mine Train ride, it does make sense since Disneyland usually gets the “final product” of things. Outside of Tokyo, they build stuff in other parks and, if it comes to Disneyland, it’s almost always heavily improved on. Runaway Railway was modified for space reasons in Disneyland, but new animation, extended Queues, and updated scenes were added to Disneyland’s version from Disney’s Hollywood Studios
    Never the less, nice research

    So just yesterday, Disneyland has officially shared spots as their planned expansion pads for new attractions, parking structures, and a new area with shops and hotels. They've teased a potential Peoplemover-style system and attractions themed to Frozen, Zootopia, Tangled, and Black Panther. One of the spots is EXACTLY where Brickey is talking about. Can’t wait to see how Brickey imagines how the reimagined Discovery Land plays out. When Space Mountain closes for rebuild, they can put those 8 foot walls at entrance and exit of Buzz and Tours and totally demo Tomorrow Land, to include Autopia and people mover and build Discovery Land, to include Pandora. PS, do away with those jets. What say you, Brickey?

    What a Great video ! This is a perfect example of why Brickey is one of the best ! A mind blowing overlay of a land that will fit exactly in an existing parking lot. Followed up by an on the ground walk through and explanations. To me this sounds like Disneyland said I see your Nintendo Land Universal Hollywood and I raise you an Arendale ! This would be an amazing addition to Disneyland. I think it would make the Original Magic Kingdom surpass the WDW Magic Kingdom. DL would have a StarWars land and a Frozen land in the same park ! I can’t wait to see Brickey given another place to ignore Olaf. Thanks Brickey keep up the good work !

    Brickey cracked the code! There actually is a little more land than shown in his diagram. As he said, Frozen will be at the NE corner connecting perfectly with the entrance/exit tunnel/bridge traversing Disneyland Drive. This will allow additional backstage/attraction space to the west and south. Also, it will allow space to maintain the vibes of the existing entrance to the Disneyland Hotel to feel like a vacation and not crowded. How exciting for guests if there is a second park entrance from the Disneyland hotel just like its sister’s the Grand Californian into DCA?

  • @TheMiketwo
    @TheMiketwo 7 дней назад

    If or when they do use the end of critter country to extend a bridge it would make total sense to change the elevation of the backstage road by lowering it.
    Then they should consider pushing out the boundary of the critter area over the backstage road area. If they just decide to build a bridge/ tunnel without major modifications to the area, it will be one very long bridge of nothingness over not only the backstage area but also over a wide tram area and multi lane street.

    A Frozen attraction at Disneyland is inevitable, but my one concern is that putting it under the space for Disneyland Forward instead of placing it somewhere in the eastern edge of Fantasyland means they would have to put World of Avatar on the DCA side of expansion, and Avatar really doesn't fit with DCA's theme at all.

    • @gridley
      @gridley 3 месяца назад +1

      DCA's theme from the outset was too limiting. It should have always been more all-encompassing like the theme used for DisneySea, originally penciled in for Long Beach. The theme of "California" should be allowed to fade away, even more so when publicity about the state right now isn't exactly stellar.

    Hey I just what to point out that the footage of the model and bird's eye view of the construction @ 0:52 is of Tokyo's Fantasy Spring and not Hong Kong. Also the scale is not correct. More can fit. I think most of Fantasy Spring ( Frozen, Peter Pan and Tangled) can fit in this Disney Forward NorthWest site. IMO it is a likely possibility of it coming here. It also have hills and scenery to block out the outside world. I suggest to look into Fantasy Springs and do another video with the same mindset and energy as this video.

    • @AlexA00
      @AlexA00 3 месяца назад +2

      The way how Fantasy Springs is built to block out the outside world with its monstrous show buildings and facades is perfect for Disneyland to avoid noise complaints. Makes me wonder if they designed Fantasy Springs for Tokyo with Disneyland in mind... Not sure if the exclusivity contract with Tokyo applies to Fantasy Springs, as Fantasy Springs is suggested on the Disneyland Forward website

    I kinda wish Disney not just copy and paste attraction/land to each of their parks. Like it would be nice if we have more unique rides/land that are special to each park, like Indy, or Zootopia, Cars land, Mystic Manor, etc.. Gives fans more reason to visit other parks
    Like if this becomes true, Frozen Ever After would be in Hong Kong, Paris, Tokyo, LA, and Florida. Might as well build it in Shanghai too and become the second ride to exist in every park.

    • @ufcislife1
      @ufcislife1 3 месяца назад

      Although i don't disagree with your point, you gotta understand the vast majority of Disney guests (even super fans like myself) will spend 90% of their time in 1 park. Would I love to (and plan to) visit Tokyo someday? Yes! But it may not happen. Most of us can only afford to visit one. So having a few duplicate rides/lands isn't a big problem, in my opinion.

    If you had just fit a rectangle in a rectangle, I’d be far from convinced. That two parks would have expansion plots of roughly the same size and shape hardly strains the limits of probability, BUT the entrance tunnel lining up with where the bridge would be? That moves the needle from chance to deliberate.
    Even if Frozen-land isn’t ultimately built in DLR, I think we are at least seeing the blueprint of what will be. I could see this basic layout being repurposed for beauty and the beast or tangled (or even Moana, the released blue sky concept art had a flume ride)

    I like your in depth stuff and sure, its plausible but i couldnt disagree more with the premis. Disney needs to get back into the business of guests using their imagination. New lands shouldnt focus around 1 single ip. Call it "imagination land" or "destinations land". That way, they could incorporate multiple ip's under a common theme. Just an idea. Love your stuff, brother!

      I agree with your thoughts but that’s not where Disney is at creatively nor have they been for a long time. These videos are never about what I want but about what I believe Disney is doing based off of clues and their recent track record. Thanks for watching. Let’s hope the trends change one day.

      Totally agree. Thanks for the reply. Keep up the good work. Your vids are insightful and well thought out. Youve got a great perspective and you love the parks like i do. Wish you could have seen disneyland like i did as kid back in the 70s. I miss that. Hope to see you one day at the park. Laters.

    I'm super excited for expansion, but I want Disney leaning into park diversification, not cloning lands. I want more reasons to travel to the other parks not less, Disneyland also has another weird restriction where they've never wanted to build anything taller then the Matterhorn, so I wonder how they handle that with another frosty Mountainous land that kind of requires a tall build.
    And since you brought up the garage, I am shocked they haven't put a solar roof on M&F/Pixar, that's an easy double win of generating green power, and providing shade for vehicles the park on the roof on the summer when cars can be an oven when you leave the parks. Six Flags MM is currently roofing their entire lot right now.

    If the parking structure planned several years ago for the land east of Harbor Blvd hadn't faced community opposition, would it have been built already? Non-park, non-hotel acreage bordered by Harbor, Katella, Walnut & Ball could be built on right now if it wasn't currently used for parking lots. As for new additions to Disney parks in Asia & Europe, I didn't know they had legal clauses where they can't be duplicated in other Disney parks in the US before 5 years.
    YT vids of the Frozen ride in Honk Kong make it look like it was regrettably value engineered, so it will be interesting seeing what the new addition to DisneySea is like. That area will also be accessed by visitors walking under a service road. Most of all, the Oriental Land Co doesn't mind shelling out big dollars (or yen) for their 2 parks in Tokyo.

    I thought the parking structures were going away also if they get approved? Or is there more I'm missing?
