It's definitely more intriguing than a coaster. I like coasters, and an Avengers coaster AND a dark ride would make me very happy, but since they only have room for one, I would take the dark ride. If I was understanding it correctly, the last option involves the first concept plus more? So that ride sounds absolutely amazing and I hope they can figure out a way to make it work and safely transfer one car between different ride systems
"The store showed up, but not the attraction" feels like the current mission statement for Disneyland/DCA, at least at the present moment. That said, 3⃣is the magic number for me.
I think the coaster option would have provided the best of both worlds. The show building size is the major obstacle. While I like the third option, it would be nightmare to pull off in terms of maintenance and safety. The system would have to securely hold the vehicle through a number of positions and ensure the vehicle clicked in precisely every time. The wear and tear on the latch system would be costly and probably contribute to many ride shutdowns and rehab periods. They probably considered another motion based simulator ride, but felt it’s overdone in the park. Thanks for another deep dive video Brickey!
I once made up an armchair Imagineering concept for a Bermuda Triangle themed ride that would switch from a plane simulator to an indoor coaster. All these new ride concepts that switch from one vehicle to another make me feel kind of justified in thinking that was possible :). I've also long wanted a "Rocketeer"-themed thrill ride in California Adventure (since it's so distinctly set in 1930s L.A.) So I also get a kick out of the idea that some of these Avengers concepts involve "jetpacks."
What a great look at what could be there! Thanks for breaking down each concept with a visual representation of what it could be. If the long wait of an empty building gives us something as fun as Haunted Mansion it would be worth the wait. I look forward to a Hey Brickey! video breaking down all the Imagineering problem solving they did to fit an E ticket ride in that building some day. Keep up the good work!
There’s concept art that shows whenever the e ticket is built, it’s going in a big 2-3 story building next to the avengers hq building (with the jet on top).
What a great deep dive into this topic. Thanks for sharing the patten art work. As one with a mechanical design background I really appreciate it. I think the ride with the robotic arms would be wild. The programming and timing would be great to see.
More and more, I'm missing the Disney difference. They're at their best when they go hard like with ROTR. The 3rd option would be epic. You gotta spend money to make money
My favorite is the Brickey Carousel of Research. Love going on the ride of learning the interesting things you dig up! But the key takeaway of this video is that you misspoke the years! LOL! Put that on the thumbnail Mark. THIS GUY IS TIME TRAVELING!!! LOL! Also, your transformers comment was gold.
A day or so after you must have shot this, they began the meticulous removal of the trees from the side of AVENGERS VAULT. Today you would see a small area fenced off with a green scrim, hiding the root excavation and bundling of each tree to be lifted out and away over the next few weeks. This, to me, seems to point the way to early prep for the groundbreaking of the E-ticket attraction 🤩
Hey Brickey It was great meeting you at DCA!! Thanks for talking story with us and finally getting photo pass to get your picture! I would love to send you the photos except I don’t know where to send it. If there is web address or email I can send it! Thanks again! We’ll keep watching!! Aloha Kimo and Lisa
@@HeyBrickeythanks for the amazing video! But what happened to your prediction of the quinjet ride in your old avengers campus vidoes? I only bring that up because there were a few leaks on disboards posted a long while ago that actually fit into your original prediction years ago. The one that involved starting in a motion simulator, then the seats drop out, and you get to fly your own jetpack seat around. I can link some of the official leaked concept art too if you’d like, it’s still up on disboards. That was the first original plan for the e ticket quinjet ride.
If the proposed E-ticket was ride system one, there is no chance of them bringing it back with current focus on increasing capacity across all parks. I'd be happy with 2 or 3 showing up as the new E-ticket in Avengers Campus at DCA.
I have found Avenger's Campus to be disappointing. The Spider-Man attraction is a weak series of screens with very little practical effects and while those scenes are in 3D, it came off very flat and uninspired. It's a shame that Universal Orlando's Spider-Man attraction, that's been open since 1999, is a more exciting adventure.
The best Current ride system in use is, frankly, the flying theater system that Avatar uses. If they want to have it feel like you’re “flying” that would be the best high-capacity system. The only issue would be the high that build would be. Even though Guardians is the tallest building in the area, it’s not wide and won’t be a massive box that would be relatively hard to hide from within the park.
I'm not particularly fond of any of them, although the first one seems to be a very traditional roller coaster type, and it at least in my mind feels fun, and would give you a experience like Peter Pan, but as a roller coaster, and I think that is worthwhile. The problem with number three isn't the technology. We have that capability now. The problem with Ride System 3 is failure points. If the ride breaks down, due to a failed connection or other issue with the chair system, then everything shuts down immediately. There is no Break Zone like you have on a coaster, and if your robotic systems break, then you are putting the guest into serious danger. It is very ambitious, but it's got to many failure points. Unlike Rise of the Resistance, where if say the lift misses a cycle, you have block zones that can hold back while the computer adjusts. You won't have that ability in this. See the issues that you have when Smuggler's Run breaks down, which uses a rotating theater for loading passengers for what kinds of things happen when the mounting goes wrong.
Maybe one day they’ll have a e ticket attraction 😭 I mean what else can they do to satisfy guests with this land maybe X-Men and Fantastic Four rides but need them in action from Marvel Studios first That king thanos artwork was well made featuring bunch of marvel characters and it looked so cool featuring characters like Spider-Man Ms. Marvel Daredevil Werewolf by Night Man-Thing Moon Knight!
They have a multiverse ride planned for now but with modern Disney it’s hard to tell if they’ll actually build it or if they’ll just cancel it yet again
So they scrapped all plans to even add a second attraction? (tower of terror doesn’t count.) I don’t know why they’re making plans of building another expansion for both parks when they’ve yet to finish the campus. Webslingerss is such a bad ride.
So far no it’s just the only thing that changed is they scrapped the legitimately amazing e ticket plan for a seemingly way cheaper and way less ambitious “multiverse” ride
I suspect that the tech might have been part of why it got shelved, but then I think Chadwick Boseman’s passing forced a rewrite of the the ride. That first art we saw clearly indicated that it would be taking place in Wakanda, so when Chadwick passed that would have put a massive wrinkle in their plans. Personally, this is why I want Disney to stop doing new lands in phases and just do the whole thing at once. Like Cars Land all opened at once and people love it. Avengers Campus will be at least 3 phases so when it opened Mission Breakout already existed making Spider-Man the only new attraction (mistake number 1), and now the big Avengers e-ticket is in limbo (as far as Disney has announced publicly)and we are left desiring it (mistake 2).
For option 2, take a look at F.L.Y in Phantasialand, Germany. Very similar coaster, but the way in which you load this and go up the climb hill is very very unique - and incredibly flexible. It's hard to explain, but you can be in a fly position, go horizontally along the track (this is used for loading), and even transition from loading to fly position while going diagonally (used for the lift hill).. Apparently the system was originally going to be bought by Disney, but was snapped up by Phantasialand when Disney dropped their interest. The best part of the theming is the land (Rookburgh) in which the coaster flies through. It's steampunk themed, but change that to some sort of big city with skyscrapers, laser effects and great music - this would be perfect!
Do you know the history of Tower Of Terror? The one in DCA was a shadow of the one in Disney World, it was like the economy version and left out many of the features like the elevators traveling outside of the shafts on wheels. I was expecting a BMW and got a Volkswagen Beetle. The downsized the Winnie the Pooh ride from the Disney World original too.
While Avenger's Campus definitely needs help in the form of another attraction, what do you think of Hollywood or Girzzly Peak? While Pixar Pier has its critics, at least it's a fleshed-out land with multiple attractions and other activities. I feel like the crowds in CGA, congregate around Guardians, Soarin, RSR, and the Pier because there aren't as many attractions like Pirates or HM to pull guests to other areas of the park. GCA in general needs more high-capacity dark rides.
Definitely prefer the SECOND patent! DCA DESPERATELY needs another coaster!!! Well, it may take a while, but you know as well as I do they’ll build something in that backstage parking lot behind the Quin jet!! It’s just a matter of time!
I would love the first one. However, DCA does need another coaster. My ideal would be something like the first option for the Quinjet/Multiverse ride and then expanding into the back part of Hollywood with a re-theme of TRON to Stark Industries (maybe a storyline like Flight Force). I could also see a ride similar to Forbidden Journey (or the upcoming Monsters Ride at Epic Universe) using something similar to the Kuka Arm.
Love the video, man where do you get the research? Just online or you got somme back channels in the disney corp, disney needs to bring you into the idea team, love the channel
The third concept is way too ambitious. Having that many elements built for the ride vehicle would be a nightmare of both engineering and safety. Honestly, Disney would be better off just adapting the ride elements of ROTR, adding some tweaks to it, and retheming to Avengers. The only reason I don't see the Avengers ride coming to fruition anytime soon is due to Marvel fatigue. Even Iger has admitted that viewing numbers for the recent movies is down, which may have led to their decision to silently cancel any plans for the ride.
That third one seems like a vastly more complex Kuka Arm technology (Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey). I can't for us the get the combination of Runaway Railroad and WEB Slingers, but with a higher level of personal ride control (shoot different targets to move to their show areas).
I mean technically Igar was still in charge. Chapek was just the fall guy. But let’s be honest, Disney has gotten lazy in its movies and in its rides. Also all three sounds like maintenance would be even more difficult and add to the expenses pass to the guests.
A little theory I have is that maybe the ride changed away from wakanda because in the forward artwork, you can see a panther statue. Maybe wakanda is one of the lands and 2 wakanda rides seemed redundant
I love Disney so much but I feel Universal is going to pass them up in terms of immersion. Disney needs to care and pump money into the most consistent part of their business, their parks.
I hate simulator rides. I dont get motion sick on anything in life...except SIMULATOR RIDES! I Totally remember the rumor mill about that building being another ride, and boy does "Avengers Campus" need that extra attraction. Make it the X-mens training simulator!!!
I believe the first and the third concepts were probably too difficult to visualize for an Avengers thrill experience. The second concept could be plausible, however from what I could see from the patents I think this ride would be very short if you're just curving around screens with perhaps no physical sets and animatronics. I still believe the Multiverse Attraction concept could still work, especially from that ride vehicle concept art it might be on par with the Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. Heck it might be even better than that. Construction wise, they probably would have enough space to work with cause even it's said to be a big E-Ticket it doesn't have to be really big. I understand that the story might be lazy, but we're in the Multiverse Saga of the MCU anyways and I'm still praying that Avengers Campus could get referenced in the films someday, perhaps for Avengers 5 or Secret Wars which I think that's probably why they're waiting for so long and use it as a conjunction to end the Multiverse Saga. We just have to wait till D23 to get some answers.
And you still think that there’s going to be a third park at Disneyland? Current management can’t even make a decent attraction at a new land at an existing park…
Live in CO and love DL. I have tried to experience Spiderman Web-Slinger several times (I visit DL 2x a year, in May and September) . It closed due to issues, etc., and after many attempts - I gave up. If they can't get the ONLY ride they have at Avengers Campus, I get why they have not opened another one. They need to fix the one they have.
I truly hope that with Disney Forward, we, as paying guests, feel immersed. Don't get me wrong, I love all of it, i just feel as though in DCA, especially Avengers Campus, I want to hit my rides and get out of there. Unlike Cars Land, Galaxy Edge, i want to explore, find the details, and be immersed in the movie.
Totally agree. It’s loud, hot and often boring. Not to mention constant orders being barked at you by the poor cast members left behind to clean up a malfunctioning theme park land.
@HeyBrickey i know you have discussed this exact topic before. I hope DCA in the back lot area and Avengers can be fulfilled with more activities and or immersed feeling to be entertained.
As a massive Marvel fan from back before Howard the Duck movie, let alone the MCU, I have mixed feelings on Avengers Campus. I love that it exists and I love seeing the characters just walking around. The shows are great. But it really needs an epic ride. My other childhood obsession - Star Wars - got Rise of the Resistance and Marvel having something of that caliber would completely blow my mind. Of course if it gets stalled enough that it doesn't get built until the X-Men become MCU stars and they get incorporated then for me at least, it will be worth the wait.
The Parks and Experiences panel is on August 10th, which is my birthday. So hopefully, they officially announce when this Avengers Multiverse E-ticket Ride is going to start construction, especially since I'm a Marvel fan.
also did anyone hear about the Dr strange show closing? There’s a new piece of concept art that shows the sanctum as being the queue for the avengers e ticket ride. So them closing the show might mean they are finally going to start on the avengers e ticket ride
Chapeknomics? Cheapanomics! Well, I would've settled for anything. Quinjet! (Hey, there's still one parked on the roof) Jet packs! Wow, that would be cool. That third option is so complex, I can't even grasp it. So it would've probably knocked it out of the park... although... Well, ok, I like Smuggler's Run better than Rise. Why? Because I can "act" with it. I can pretend easier. If SR actually had the different options it had been planned with, it would have been even more awesome. As you say, "Vibes over Rides". (So where's the t-shirt?) But you know what I think'll happen? A cheap cloned copy of Cosmic Rewind. Cruddy..
If I wanted to go to Universal Studios I would. Disneyland used to be about immersion, not shoving film franchises in your face. Every time I go back to the park, I'm disappointed more and more. Tomorrowland is a ghost town. They cut the budget which made the fireflies in Pirates float around (apparently a fan is too expensive to maintain after 55 years). Subtlety and realism is pushed aside to fill shops with cheaply made merch. It's just an expensive mall with rides.
🤔 *Thinking out loud* 🤔 Do you think we finally get an announcement at D23 this year for the *AC E-Ticket Ride* or get more info on *Disney Forward* or possibly something about *Pandora* (it would be awesome if it was all three). Whatever it might be, let's hope we do not get disappointed, because in my opinion Disney really needs something _huge_ to compete with *Epic Universe* which opens next year. If we are lucky, whatever it is; maybe it will open just in time for the 2028 Olympic Games.
Agree that the third ride patent seems way too ambitious. Plus with it having so many dependent mechanical systems, I can see it being something that would break down a lot. Just look at the problems something like ROTR still has from time to time. Out of the three, I think the pendulum ride would probably have been the most viable, and the one that would have made me the least queasy afterwards!
The pendulum arm type ride was planned for a spider man ride, there was actually a picture of the physical ride model that was posted to disboards a while back that shows spider man theming. Also nothing against brickey at all but the quinjet ride (at least the first plans) was going to be way different than what he described and showed on here. A few official leaks showed how the ride really was going to be like. If you want I can describe it here and in the meantime I’ll look on disboards to see if I can find a link to the stuff I mentioned
The whole Marvel area (personally) sucks!!! It reminded when USH had Marvel for a small period of time and thank God that shit was gone because just didn't fit and it felt out of place. Now, concerning Disney and why they canceled the attraction is easy, they're a Penny Pincher and lazy!
Option 4: Nothing. Throw a Spiderman animatronic across the roof and call it a day. $200 at the gate please! Oh, and be sure to remember the $35 to park your car too, please.
I’m actually not a fan of any of those choices All I see is them breaking down all the time, we definitely need a ride with high capacity To help poor avengers Hallway😢
So the ride wasn't canceled, Covid happened. It was a phase 2 rife like Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. Have no fear after Tiana and New Orleans remodle at Haunted Mansion construction will begin of the ride. The origional ride concept was changed into a star Tours 2.0 like ride which is still coming. Avatar is going to be in Disneyland and Disney Forward is a part of land expansion. The store showed up but the attraction has yet to be built. It's also an upgrade from the original concept.
The first concept would allow the rider to fly through a physical city-scape like a superhero. To me, this is much more intriguing than the others.
It's definitely more intriguing than a coaster. I like coasters, and an Avengers coaster AND a dark ride would make me very happy, but since they only have room for one, I would take the dark ride. Plenty of room for a show building back there -- existing Space Mountain and Big Thunder can fit in that space.

Man I didn’t know it opened in 2001 and changed the ride’s plans in D23 2002
That third one seems like a vastly more complex Kuka Arm technology (Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey). I can't for us the get the combination of Runaway Railroad and WEB Slingers, but with a higher level of personal ride control (shoot different targets to move to their show areas).
Yeah the kuka arm jetpack version looked awesome
I mean technically Igar was still in charge. Chapek was just the fall guy. But let’s be honest, Disney has gotten lazy in its movies and in its rides. Also all three sounds like maintenance would be even more difficult and add to the expenses pass to the guests.
What about a similar ride system to forbidden journey at universal?
A little theory I have is that maybe the ride changed away from wakanda because in the forward artwork, you can see a panther statue. Maybe wakanda is one of the lands and 2 wakanda rides seemed redundant
I love Disney so much but I feel Universal is going to pass them up in terms of immersion. Disney needs to care and pump money into the most consistent part of their business, their parks.
great video Mark
I hate simulator rides. I dont get motion sick on anything in life...except SIMULATOR RIDES! I Totally remember the rumor mill about that building being another ride, and boy does "Avengers Campus" need that extra attraction. Make it the X-mens training simulator!!!
We hold on to hope we’ll get a true e-ticket and honour some of this incredible engineering, creativity and guest experience
I really hope so too!
Ya that building seems like a waste just having a store and shows go on in it
Exactly : (
4:29. That “666” number has me a little nervous about this ride. Ha ha
The only problem with these rides will be the weight restrictions which can lead to multiple lawsuits.
You can't sue someone because your a fat person and cant ride a ride.
The trouble with IP based anything is that when enthusiasm for the inspiration wanes, willingness to invest in further product wanes, too.
Is the Stark Lab ride going to incorporate everything in the 3rd option? If so that is going to be an awesome dynamic ride!!!!
And you still think that there’s going to be a third park at Disneyland? Current management can’t even make a decent attraction at a new land at an existing park…
Sadly true : (
Live in CO and love DL.
3 seems like it would be crazy expensive and hard to keep running! I would love #1
4th option : Small world re-themed Marvel ride dark ride. With Thanos doll dancing to the small world tune in the final room. So exciting.
is the pendulum ride for monsters inc land ?
@HeyBrickey, you gonna cover the Autopia news?
I think the third idea would be absolutely terrifying for children.
(So where's the t-shirt?)
But you know what I think'll happen? A cheap cloned copy of Cosmic Rewind. Cruddy..
Avenger's Campus opened in 2021, not 2001
Simple slip of the Tongue
If I wanted to go to Universal Studios I would. Disneyland used to be about immersion, not shoving film franchises in your face. Every time I go back to the park, I'm disappointed more and more.
Tomorrowland is a ghost town. They cut the budget which made the fireflies in Pirates float around (apparently a fan is too expensive to maintain after 55 years).
Subtlety and realism is pushed aside to fill shops with cheaply made merch.
It's just an expensive mall with rides.
At this point I would settle for an interactive single layer dark ride. Maybe a Toy Story Mania meets avengers meets Mr toad.
What a wild collaboration!!!
🤔 *Thinking out loud* 🤔
Do you think we finally get an announcement at D23 this year for the *AC E-Ticket Ride* or get more info on *Disney Forward* or possibly something about *Pandora* (it would be awesome if it was all three). Whatever it might be, let's hope we do not get disappointed, because in my opinion Disney really needs something _huge_ to compete with *Epic Universe* which opens next year. If we are lucky, whatever it is; maybe it will open just in time for the 2028 Olympic Games.
I love the third option.
i knew it! i knew the bld was meant to be a ride!!!
Thanks god we have Universal! the robot arms in Forbidden Journey have a lot of potential in a new creative ways.. but Disney lacks creativity lately.
Paris has the Avengers Assemble (Rock n Roller Coaster re-themed to Iron Man/Ms.Marvel). It could work for Anaheim.
Disney bait and switch, they do that a lot.
I’d be more than happy with an avengers version of GOTG coaster.
Why add to it when crowds keep coming with what exists?
Man I would love an avengers theme peter pan.
It’s still happening
Option 4: Nothing. Throw a Spiderman animatronic across the roof and call it a day. $200 at the gate please! Oh, and be sure to remember the $35 to park your car too, please.
I think your years are off? The land opened in 2021 not 2001 lol
Clearly a slip of the tongue that was missed. But I’m glad you caught the mistake.
Thanks Brickey, great expose'! I think they are wise to hold off until they can really wow us!
I’m actually not a fan of any of those choices All I see is them breaking down all the time, we definitely need a ride with high capacity To help poor avengers Hallway😢
I don’t understand the point of opening new lands when you put one ride in per land. The Spider-Man ride is just terrible on top of it
Brickey is a RUclips Crusher!!!!!!
Disneyland doesn't need any more rides, because the park is finished
So the ride wasn't canceled, Covid happened. It was a phase 2 rife like Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. Have no fear after Tiana and New Orleans remodle at Haunted Mansion construction will begin of the ride. The origional ride concept was changed into a star Tours 2.0 like ride which is still coming. Avatar is going to be in Disneyland and Disney Forward is a part of land expansion. The store showed up but the attraction has yet to be built. It's also an upgrade from the original concept.
They just submitted blueprints in theblast week for a new Sorin 2.0 like ride system. The words used is "give you a flying like sensation"
