My son and I have been wanting to try lakers. After watching your video we gave it a try and we caught 2 nice lakers and lost 2. Thanks for getting us started!
And that is what sets Randall apart from so many other locals. Sometimes I wonder if even the guides avoid fish to enhance the mystique of catching fish at Raystown.
I’m a little worried they may hurt themselves thrashing against the pincher. Good video interesting and I like the explanation of hitting the spot lock at the time the fish appears on graft Thanks Man
Turn up ur sonar and watch the interaction with ur lure. They usually behave pretty well if you grab the base of their tail with one hand like a baseball bat. Then put ur other hand under their belly. Also, it’s not uncommon for them to struggle to get back down when the surface temp is high. Having a descender ready helps get them back down.
Spotlock is expensive. I keep drifting too much. How else can I do it without spending the money on Spotlock? I have an old aluminum boat that I can't put a bow mounted trolling motor on anyway. thanks.
Look into 'back trolling'. Just plug that into the search bar and watch a few videos on it. I was jigging while back trolling for 4 years before I got spot lock. If you want to join me on a jigging trip just give me a call or send me a text. randallrydes.com for my contact info
It's evident nobody cares about common sense anymore. 😱😱 Thank goodness I've fished the boundary waters and made smoked lake trout while growing up in Minnesota.

Great tips on jigging up some nice lakers. I like the rods too got some backbone yet load up nice and give you a good fight.
Thanks man!
Nice fish Randal. Much appreciate the info.
You're welcome! It's been a long time coming lol 😂
love it, thank you!
You're welcome man! I'm glad it helped.
I like your videos.
Why do you use the fish gripper and not just hold them normal?
They wiggle a lot. It helps hold them still for the video. They don't move as much if I control the head. Less chance of dropping them as well.

I agree. I worry as well. I'm getting better at handling them. I prefer to keep them in the net unless I'm harvesting them.

Thanks for the comment. Tight lines.
Reel away they like to chase
Yes they do! A paddle tail or fluke is good for that.
