Another great informative video. That Lowrance Elite FS with ActiveTarget is sick. Can't wait to finally get out there myself this weekend. My go to are your top 2, TC Moto and Champ Swimmers.
Hey I don't blame you for watching Uncut Angling, my favorite youtube channel in the world! :D These are literally the baits he's used to catch fish on his youtube videos. Great action. Thank you for making this.

Hi Mat thanks for the info just got back from our first time on cold lake got out Thursday after the wind landed twenty or so in the morning and went back with the family and picked up five more that night big thanks to Kim at birch lodge for all his help.
Great job with the video. Please get a boga type grip. Super easy to use for catch and release and you don't have to shove your hand under the gills. You will love it!
Cool view through the fish finder. Didnt realize they worked that good where you could watch the fish go to the lure. What kind of fish finder is that?
@@weaversbentrods man, that is one good fish finder. Im new to this so Im starting out with the deeper chirp 2. See, if that does me any good. Glad you put videos out there for us amateurs to watch and learn.
Keep in mind that it can be hard on them if you hold their weight up with your hand on the soft part of their stomach, keep your hand back more on the tail muscle...nice catching though.
Awesome and very helpful. Help me out with one thing though (and keep in mind I'm a newbie). I'm fishing in First Connecticut--a medium lake (2800 acres) in New Hampshire. Most of the info I've gotten suggests that lake trout 'have tender mouths and prefer smaller baits' . Definitely different from your experience. Do you think there are regional differences or should I dump the small bait people and go with your big boys? Again, thanks for the video.
If they are smaller fish yes it’s very possible. The medium to big fish defiantly do not have soft mouths often times you need to set the hook multiple times to make sure it’s good. As far as bait size i’ve seen them hit baits half the size of them when they are hungry. Keep trying different things and see what works on your lake!
Outstanding video - heading to one of my favorite LT lakes in ON here in September! You probably deleted all the negative comments about that joker who was hassling you... No pike usually don't live this deep however you can change the orientation of the sonar and cast for them and watch the same thing when they are following your bait tho!

Love that u show the fishfinder like that
I try to in most of my videos! Fun watching them

Just added all 5 of these to my arsenal that's for the recommendation buddy, great video

I've seen them used in the past and shredded the jaw of the fish when they thrash around boat side once those grips are locked...
Yes for fish with soft mouths you are right. Some of the other grips have more of a flat surface which is better.
If you grip the gill flap correctly you never really touch the gills.
@@bigham1jb yes. Until a big fish starts inevitably flapping, twisting.....
Great video, awesome technique thanks for sharing!!!
Guess I shoulda been using buzz bombs….
no fishing that good where we reside; I'd be unreal happy catch a trout like those!!
Not everyday is as good as this one but sometimes it just works out!
I think they are very realistic , and I like the hook on top of the body, not dragging on anythings.
They work awesome!
This is phenomenal! Been going through some more of your vids and loving it! Love the live imaging shots
nothing beats live sonar when jigging lake trout the chase is just that much more fun

Hey Mat,
Am I right you are on a Cold lake in Alberta ? In Ontario Cold lake doesn’t have such depth. Thx
Yes Cold Lake Alberta. I'd imagine it is a fairly common name as there is a town in Manitoba also named Cold Lake

Tj what rod you using there for that bondi bait?
That’s a St Croix Premier 7’ Heavy. It’s a great spinning rod for jigging I love it
D0 u ever hook pike using this method
No pike usually don't live this deep however you can change the orientation of the sonar and cast for them and watch the same thing when they are following your bait tho!
Wow is that an extra heavy St Croix?
I do alternate between a heavy and extra heavy 7’ st.criox premier.
What about a Williams spoon?
generally when jigging I like to stick to something a little heavier so I can keep my line vertical.
Thanks for the info, but let's get that fish back in the water!!
You bet
Isn't that the junior not the mini wobbler?
Yep good catch you are correct. I use the mini wobble and the junior interchangeably throughout the season and both produce quiet similar results!
what kind of fishing Line are you using
I run 20lb suffix 832 with a 6 ft 20lb fluorocarbon leader when jigging lake trout like this.
so do you look for stucture first?
look for structure that’s holding fish and bait is ideal
What line do you use?
I use 20lb suffix 832 high vis green
Awesome thanks, So straight Fluorocarbon not braid to fluoro? Going Thursday for the first time
