Sounds amazing! Would you mind recording more hymns and uploading them? Particularly interested in hearing which arrangements you do before/during communion.

This is an unsatisfactory rendition of Roubanis' Cherubic Hymn. Why? Because it is being sung at twice the speed it should be. The Cherubic Hymn sets the mood for the oncoming portion of the Divine Liturgy, namely the presentation of the gifts and the ultimate consecration of them, i.e. the body and blood of Christ, and should be sung slowly and with great feeling. The religious nature of the words of the hymn along with the music if sung or chanted are intended to create a sense of awe, mysticism, and spirituality in preparation of the most solemn portion of the worship service The robotic and boring nature of this performance is evidence that none of the aforementioned and requisite elements have been considered. One only need listen to the Cherubic Hymns of Bordniansky, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and others to appreciate the validity of my criticism.

James Rouman First correction, this is NOT written by Roubanis. Gavril Lomakin composed this in the 18th century and it was later reset by Nicholas Karlash. Secondly you have no business saying such things about a churches choir. If you think it’s so bad then go join it and help them make it better before you criticize. As a choir director in my own Greek Orthodox Church I struggle maintaining the attendance needed to produce the best sound. So maybe your self richeousness will be rethought before spewing hateful things about a group of people who wish to praise God.
