There will be no mercy for a clergy let alone a Patriarch who has murdered Christ's own flock and has blood on his hands of that of Christ which flows through His servants. And Bartholomew has Christ's blood on his hands by all the canonical orthodox Christians in Ukraine who have been murdered by the schismatics and heretics( many of them nazis by the way) And also St Lavrenti of Chernigov several decades ago said that anyone who recognized the schismatics in Ukraine commits blasphemy of the Holy Spirit of which he or she will never be forgiven of either in this life or in the next.

"If you wish to be calm do not read rebellious books or pamphlets that mention Church matters, since you are not responsible for such serious affairs. You have a need for books that will assist you in your repentance. If you want to help the Church, correct yourself and an immediate amendment is made to a small part of the Church. Naturally, if everyone did this, then the Church would be put in order." St. Paisios the Athonite

      St Paisios, Spiritual Councils 2
"Who cares if people are trying to destroy the Church? They’ll tell you, oh it doesn’t’ matter. They are like feathers in the wind - so long as they are comfortable. How can they possibly be comfortable? They’ll be made comfortable by satan in the end. These are not honorable things....
Indifference is unacceptable even for laymen, and all the more so for the clergy. An honest, spiritual man doesn’t do anything with indifference. “Cursed be he that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully”, says the Prophet Jeremiah (Jer. 48:10). There’s a war on today, a holy war. I must be on the front lines. There are so many M***, so many M*****, so many S****** and assorted others! So many possessed, anarchists and seduced ones! I see what awaits us, and it’s painful for me. The bitter taste of human pain is in my mouth.
      ...
The spirit of lukewarmness reigns. There’s no manliness at all! We’ve been spoiled for good! How does God still tolerate us? Today’s generation is the generation of indifference. There are no warriors The majority are fit only for parades.
Godlessness and blasphemy are allowed to appear on television. And the Church is silent and doesn’t excommunicate the blasphemers. And they need to be excommunicated. What are they waiting for? Let’s not wait for someone else to pull the snake out from its hole so that we can live in peace.
They’re silent out of indifference. What’s bad is that even people who’ve got something inside have begun to grow cool, saying: “Can I really do anything to change the situation?” We have to witness our faith with boldness, because if we continue to be silent we’ll have to answer in the end. In these difficult days each must do what’s in their power. And leave what’s out of their power to the will of God. In this way our conscience will be clear.
If we don’t resist, then our ancestors will arise from their graves. They suffered so much for the Fatherland, and we? What are we doing for it?.. If Christians don’t begin to witness their faith, to resist evil, then the destroyers will become even more insolent. But today’s Christians are no warriors. If the Church keeps silent, to avoid conflict with the government, if the metropolitans are silent, if the monks hold their peace, then who will speak up?"

Prayers for him and those who serve him and may the ones who perhaps have tried to persuade this position be driven away. I cannot help but feel it is leaders in the U.S. and E.U. who foment this to cause turbulence within the church for political reasons such as the Patriarchate's decision in Ukraine not too long ago. In Greece (and I think in other Balkan countries like Bulgaria etc) US intelligence services try to control the elite and Russia tries to affect every fringe group, not only paraecclesiastical groups but groups of pagans or communists. [You will see them using Muslims in the future too]. In Greece there are many weird pseudo-Orthodox websites with made up prophecies etc, probably the result of actions of Russian intelligence services.
I have thought if what Bartholomew did was the result of some short of CIA influence or something but I don't believe it. My impression is that US officials did not expect the decision on Ukraine. And EU is definetely not involved.

The political people are the issue. The Church needs us to support the Church, so it is independent of the government. We need to use our rights to fight governments and put them in their place. The USA has the First Amendment guaranteeing freedom of religion, yet Covid-19 proves that the government does not follow its own constitution because we must submit to a bunch of unelected bureaucrats and our corrupt judges will go against the constitution to support them. We have good men and women in politics that fight the government to keep it out of church affairs, but few of us support them. If we do not do our part to clamp down on the secular world to keep them out of church affairs, then we are to blame for the situation in the church. If church governance is to operate as Orthodox, then maximum Autocephally needs to be established. Why is the Archbishop of Greece Autocephalous from the Patriarch? It was granted. That is why. The OCA was granted a tomos of Autocephally as well. The Roman Church experienced a very negative trend with the Vatican I and II Councils because of the centralized papal authority. The Acts of the Apostles lays out the conciliatory method of True Church governance. Again, modern governance that wants maximum centralized control is a disaster as it is wherever it occurs..

Recently reposed Elder Ephraim, from the video on YT "Geronda Ephraim of Serai (†March, 2023): we want Orthodoxy!"
"The now reposed, holy Elder (St) Ephraim of Katounakia once said: 'Even if St. Mark of Ephesus has signed, agreeing for the union, along with all the others, the laity would have strongly reacted, and voided these signatures ... all the laypeople of Constantinople!' Not even one bishop would remain on dry land but they would be carried away into the Bosphorus - what traitors! What do they think Orthodoxy is? Some sort of negotiated bargain of their own?...
Wait and see when they all [the laity] decide to resist, then they'll be in charge and this needs to happen...
There will be a bastardization in contemporary Orthodoxy and it's people - a spiritual idiocy; they will be diluted, contaminated. What will happen? A more dynamic and reactionary course of action needs to take place. So since these decisions were made about the heterodox, this has deeply saddened us, very, very much! Many more false synods are bound to follow after Kolymbari, when and where, we do not know..."

What a tragedy taking place within the Church that Christ promised the Gates of Hades will not prevail! My dear brethren, peace upon you and mercy upon this chief of sinners.
Look, Elder Paisios is correct, if we workout our own salvation with fear and trembling, then that little part of the Church is brought back into the Light of The Way. It is a tragedy when we allow our passions to take control of us, and then claim it is righteous indignation. "Blessed or the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God." All governments are permitted by the mercy and grace of God, or a punishment to a people who have turned their backs on Christ an His Church...but we are not allowed to dictated the end of a man; that is the real sin.
The Earth is filled with violence, chaos, hate, distrust, envy, sexual perversions of all kinds, and the attack The Church is intensifying, and we are in a battle that we are told that our weapons are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds, and casting down imagination and every high thing (person, place, or thing) that dares to exalt itself against the knowledge of God.
What are those weapons? They are found listed in the New Testament, the book of our Church. Love, peace, kindness, longsuffering, goodness, forgiveness. Upon these things are we to think and on these things we need to repent as the state of Earth and all on it is mad opposite.
Our weapons are found withing the Mysteries of the Church, and its fullness. We don't need anything else but to preach the Gospel to those in positions of power, or to the saint who is just trying to make ends meet. If we do anything less, we will fail.
If the Church is so weak that the Gates of Hades will prevail, I get it. But Jesus our Brother King (He calls us brethren), said that the Gates of Hades will NOT prevail. So let's live our lives like Elder Paisios asks us to do, as Christ told us to do; it isn't being apathetic, it is being a follower of The Way, The Truth and walking in The Life.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on this terrible sinner!

If ANY patriarchate could claim to be the "first among equals" or the birth-giver of Churches, it would be Antioch, not the Phanar. "And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." - Acts 11:26
However, NO patriarchate is above another. Orthodoxy is conciliar. We don't need a "pope of the East".

Well said. When the secondary primacy of honor was given to the Patriarchate of Constantinople, the Bishop of Rome at the time's only concern was why is it not Antioch. Of course the reason is that Constantinople was the new Seat of the Emperor of the Ecumene, like Rome was before it moved. But, that is gone now so maybe Antioch should have primacy of honor. I don't know.

Have you ever read the Orthodox Saints who thought it was required to follow the Roman church? St. Maximus the Confessor, when commenting on the manner in which Pyrrhus, a former Bishop of Constantinople and heretic, should return to the unity of the Church, said this about him: "Let him [Pyrrhus] hasten before all else to to satisfy the Roman See, for if it is satisfied all will agree in calling him pious and orthodox…, That Apostolic See which has received universal and supreme dominion, authority, and power of binding and loosing over all the holy churches of God throughout the world, from the incarnate Son of God Himself and also by all holy councils” (Migne PG 91:114; taken from Eastern Orthodoxy’s Witness. Happily, seemingly in answer to your concerns about his titles Pope Francis has reacquired the title Patriarch of the West. To be honest, it's one of the few things Francis has done with which I agree.
There is plenty of liberalism and heresy creeping into Eastern Orthodoxy. Archbishop Elpidophoros in July 2022 in Greece baptised the child of a gay couple, the famous designer Peter Bousis and his Greek-American partner Evangelo Bousis. The child was born through surrogacy. Pope Francis came out against surrogacy and against the trans culture recently, and no Catholic bishop to my knowledge has authorized such acts. Following that there was indecisiveness on the part of the Orthodox churches. In a response to an Orthodox Archbishop stating the unacceptability of such actions, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Messinia stated: "The proposal of Abp. Ieronymos of Athens regarding the non-Baptism of infants adopted by same-sex couples is his personal opinion, which does not reflect the position of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece."
But where are the Orthodox now? There is a schism between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. You have no head. Therefore you have no church, you have churches. There is not an organization that has ever been conceived that does not have a head. While Christ is the head of the church he established a temporal head of the church for the purpose of preventing such problems. There is no power within the temporal church in Orthodoxy to call a council, to resolve the dispute between the ecumenical patriarch and the Russian Orthodox Patriarch, and it seems to be more like fighting children than a church. Yes we do have problems in the Catholic Church. Pope Francis is not my favorite pope, I will tell you that. I do agree that there have been a lot of abuses in the church since Vatican II, not as a result directly of Vatican II, but mainly because of the social context in the West in which it occurred. But The Pope has the power to put the German bishops in their place and to keep the church united in a much more effective manner than the Orthodox Church has been able to. The much anticipated Pan- Orthodox Council of 2016 amounted to a lot of infighting and disagreement and really resulted in nothing, except for some Orthodox claiming that the ecumenical patriarch was trying to act like a pope. Furthermore the Russian Orthodox Patriarch has declared the Russian attack on Ukraine as a holy war. He has claimed sole jurisdiction in Ukraine. I don't see anything like this happening in the Catholic Church.
The Orthodox Church or churches accepted the Filioque for use by the Western Church, as a response to heresy denying the divinity of the Holy Spirit in the seventh and eighth centuries. Sometimes it was an issue, sometimes it wasn't. Yet, one cannot read the farewell dialogs in John 15 and 16 without recognizing that it is a valid understanding, especially when the Catholic Church has acknowledged that the source of the Holy Spirit is the Father and procession, when it comes to Christ, does not mean as the source, but it would accept the understanding of proceeds through the Son. When Jesus breathed on the disciples and said, “receive the Holy Spirit" seems like a slam dunk to me. Now could it have been handled differently? Yes, that's a different argument. In fact, at the time of the schism in 1054 no one on either side thought it would be permanent. There was great cooperation during the initial crusades and the continued schism was political more than religious. Attempts at reunification happened and even when agreed to by the bishops of the entire eastern church ended up being negated by one Eastern bishop. If the pope had done that you would claim invalid primacy, yet if a single bishop does that in the east it's okay?
Similarly, the Orthodox constantly claim heresy when the Western Church defines anything. Purgatory is a heresy. Yet the Orthodox Church maintains that there is a place or state of purification where the soul will benefit from prayer. Original sin the way Catholics explain it is heresy to them. The Orthodox maintain that original sin brought death and separated man from God. Catholics of course would not disagree. Simply a different understanding based upon culture but with the same result. Now, if the Catholic Church had stated that Jesus was the source of the Trinity or abrogated the order of the Trinity, that would be a different story. If the Catholic Church denied the divinity of any members of the Holy Trinity, denied baptism, denied holy orders, denied the requirement of faith and works for Salvation, or denied any number of dogmatic principles that are agreed upon by the East and the West then I would understand. The Orthodox will resort to “it's a mystery” When they want to refute a Catholic definition.
But the Orthodox argue about terminology, or the attempt to use a word to define something. For instance, the Orthodox believe that the bread and wine are transformed into the body and blood of Jesus. The Catholics believe the same. Yet, add the word transubstantiation and the Orthodox cry heresy. It is simply a word that the West used to define a transformation that was taking place. Such is the difference I guess between the East and the West culturally. But it is not a cause for schism. Especially not when considered in the light of the paragraphs below.
I would like to reference the Jerusalem Synod of the Orthodox Church of 1672. The beliefs as stated are identical to those of the Catholic Church. In terms of the Eucharist: "Further, that in every part, or the smallest division of the transmuted bread and wine there is not a part of the Body and Blood of the Lord - for to say so were blasphemous and wicked - but the entire whole Lord Christ substantially, that is, with His Soul and Divinity, or perfect God and perfect man. This is just an example., transmuted, not transubstantiated, so one is okay and the other is Heresy. But wait, it gets better. A little later in the paragraph it reads: "the bread of the Prothesis* set forth in all the several Churches, being changed and transubstantiated, becomes, and is, after consecration, one and the same with That in the Heavens." Oh my goodness, the word transubstantiated. The difference in the word is only a difference in the tense. So how is it now a heresy if the Orthodox church never changes its teaching?
Now let's get to that pesky purgatory. That same council said the following: "And the souls of those involved in mortal sins, who have not departed in despair but while still living in the body, though without bringing forth any fruits of repentance, have repented - by pouring forth tears, by kneeling while watching in prayers, by afflicting themselves, by relieving the poor, and finally by showing forth by their works their love towards God and their neighbor, and which the Catholic Church has from the beginning rightly called satisfaction - [their souls] depart into Hades, and there endure the punishment due to the sins they have committed. But they are aware of their future release from there, and are delivered by the Supreme Goodness, through the prayers of the Priests, and the good works which the relatives of each do for their Departed" Ok, so they don't call it purgatory. And a descripcion of exactly what the Catholic Church teaches is called heresy because it is called purgatory. The fact is the hypocrisy of the Orthodox Church is glaring.
Now, you are concerned about heresy regarding the above issues, which I have shown are really non-issues. Let's look at another issue. I believe you at some point in this video or another discuss Hesychasm. Let's look at the writings of St Gregory Palamus. We are not talking about the procession of the Holy Spirit here. We are talking about the very nature of God. He separates God's Essence from his Energies in a way that goes against the Council of Nicaea. Against opposition he also describes the Essence of God lying above and a divinity or Godhead that is lower. If this is not absolute heresy I don't know what is. He also stated that those who have obtained spiritual and supernatural grace have become entirely God. He went so far as to say that those who attain it become uncreated. This even caused the chief opponent of his, who wrote against papal primacy, to convert to Roman Catholicism and become a Catholic Bishop. Yet despite this obvious heresy the Roman church has not condemned Orthodoxy for it. Why? Because despite differences in understanding these are teachings which although heterodox will not affect the salvation of the souls of the faithful. Neither will the filioque. And that is a lot more in keeping with traditional Catholic Orthodox thought than St Gregory.

To Fr. Peter: I think 95% of Orthodox people who go to Church regularly know and understand the meaning of being "first among equals" - but many, many more are confused as to what to do with this information. This is the big topic here, Ft. Peter, in my humble opinion. Truly, the schisms in the Orthodox Church are but the greatest achievement of the devil. Learn what happened to the Greeks of Istanbul in 1942 (Varlik Vergisi Law), in 1955 (pogrom, rapes, killings, destruction), in the 1960s (massive expulsion of 12000 men followed by their families, ie 60000 people), and think of the fact that according to Turkish law the Patriarchate has to be a Turkish citizen, which means Orthodoxy is the hostage of Turkey. And then maybe you will understand why Bartholomeos is doing what he's doing in order to find support from the West because he knows he can't find support from Moscow. The best thing he should do would be to leave Turkey, but if he does that many wolves within the Orthodox Church will say there is no Patriarchate of Constantinople anymore. A solution has to be found. This solution is to accept the fact the Patriarchate of Constantinople has to be moved to another country and still recognized as legit even if it's not physically in Constantinople anymore. If this is done you will see everything be put back in place.

Old Rome was never the head of the Church, that is, and always will be Christ - not a fallen-man, what lunacy. The Orthodox Church of Rome, with Pope John VIII accepted the councils St Photios council for over 200 years in the 9th century after the entire Church - including the Roman See, and the rest of the Apostolic See's of the Church - rejected papal supreme authority and the filioque.
St Gregory the Great, pope of Rome, (7th C) calls Rome the See of Rome - not the head of the entire Church and denounces those making universal claims - you have to ignore the words of Holy Scripture and the Saints to justify the RC institution. St Bede (9th C), western great Saint, also calls Rome the See of Rome, ONE of the Apostolic sees - and never refers to the "head" of the Church as the pope. The Council Synods in his time referred to following the Holy Fathers and Ecumenical Councils of the Church, and not the pope - "the Holy Fathers of the Ecumenical Councils."
The 'ordination' of the Roman Catholics cannot even bless holy water - it has salt added to it otherwise it turns murkey. Every generation a new innovation happens which would be unrecognizable to the previous.
Where is the pope as the universal authority in the Book of the Revelation? Where is the pope in the Didache? Where is the pope in the lettesr of St Ignatius of Antioch? Of St Polycarp? In the Ecumenical Councils? Why do they all, and always, and will forever say, "following the Holy Fathers." not the pope of Rome!
Catholic scholars admit now, from 2016 "The way Forward after the Catholic Orthodox Agreement on Primacy and Synodality" from Catholic World Report: "How are we to reconcile the dogmatic fact of Vatican I’s universalizing claims with the now publicly admitted historical fact of regional limitations to the authority of the bishop of Rome in the first millennium?... “the bishop of Rome did not exercise canonical authority over the churches of the East”
The Head of the Church is Christ, and His Body is the Church. The pious roman catholics are not in the right faith. It is a gift from God how badly this institution has fallen in its rotten corpse to SHOW the pious they are not in the right faith.
“They strive to convert and lead people, not to Christ, but to their pope.” -Saint Ambrose of Optina.

    • @LadyMaria
      @LadyMaria Год назад

Incorrect. There was no Papacy in the first millennium. At the end of the first millennium, the Bishop of Rome began to seize power not his. The 2nd Ecumenical Council was held when Rome was in schism in the 4th century. It was held and accepted in the whole Church without Rome. No Bishop of Rome ever called an Ecumenical Council either. He did not rule in the East. His only job was tie breaking if two Patriarchs or Primates had a dispute. Constantinople also had that. He was not supreme. And all the Apostles received authority. All of our Bishops have the authority handed down by St. Peter, esp. Antioch. The original Seat of St. Peter was Antioch, Alexandria and Rome together. The only reason Rome had any primacy of honor was because it was the Seat of the Emperor of the Ecumene too.

This "priest" talking... has no bishop. Why is he acting like a priest?
Honor to new Rome after old Rome, was not merely a place of honor. In order to come to that inconsistent conclusion, you first have to accept that primacy to Rome was never given. It was a mistake to embrace the error in the first place. The see of Rome is a divine office passed on by St. Peter. The nature of this holy see is revealed in holy scripture and reflected in ecumenical councils, Hormisdas formula, the invocation of Rome on dividing matters regarding faith and morals since apostolic times (see letter to Corinthians by Pope Clement).
You've embraced error and echo error. The EP is correct in his interpretation.

Chronologically, the Metropolitan of Ukraine was under the jurisdiction of the Russian Patriarch. The Patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholomew and Russian Patriarch, Kirill, broke communion with each other. Patriarch Bartholomew made Ukraine have its own Patriarch, instead of holding a council for all bishops to agree upon, as they have traditionally done.
Per Audio Speech Analysis (ASA), Satan and his demons are leading Ukraine's government and this has spilt into the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, where the Ukrainian Patriarch should have insisted that Bartholomew call for a council meeting. Since that didn't happen, they are under Satan's agenda.
