Sugita really impressed me with this role. I don't even hear Gintoki. I didn't know he could play the role of a psychotic murderer so damn well!
I can hear a bit of Gintoki in his swagger, but that's about it (and that's only cause I've watched Gintama so many times that I think I could recognize Sugita anywhere). Truly a talented a voice actor indeed!
@Paul Vizcarra these Gintama VAs are scary at how well they play the psycho role in anime.
Well Sugita is one of the Seiyuus with unique voice. Though they don't have a long voice range, they pack a punch to make all of your teeth fall off. Kazuya Nakai is another perfect exemple. And I'm not mentioning him because of a certain mayo addict.
Truly. I only realized in the second episode. This one is on the brink of his range of roles.

Which is funny considering that sugita Tomokazu voiced both Escanor and Gang. One character was in a fight with bad animation while the other wasn't.

It’s a bit of a hajime no Ippo reference. Where they always would use an elephant noise for the same reason.
