Exactly! It would be so easy for Apple to make an "heads up display" mode, that just follows you around. Plus, it would solve the fact that "travel mode" doesn't work in trains and things like this that move around more unpredictably than a plane.

Yes! That’s my biggest gripe with it. Like the iPad, it’s far more capable than what Apple allows it to be. With all of its power and RAM, I can’t understand why my Safari tabs need to reload every time I open the app.
Be careful when choosing a wi-fi based home security system. Here in California thieves are now using Wi-fi jammers when robbing houses so unless your cameras, sensors, ect are hardwired they won't be of much use in some cases. Wi-fi signals are very low powered and are proving easy to disrupt unfortunately.
The way to make a window follow you is to pinch and hold the movement bar on bottom while you’re walking. I think the reason why they didn’t make it easier to move while your walking is it can increase feeling of motion sickness considerably.

Taking the light blocker off, is kind of like transparency mode with AirPods. I mean that, I get “claustrophobic” when AirPods are in noise blocking mode. I think there’s something there by taking off the light blockers you’re more free more open to the world around you which I think will add a lot to the comfort. Anyway, great video.

I can imagine the next iterations or someone writing an app to help you out with the woodworking such as being able to recognize different wood types, help you with measurements and angles, actual functional augmented reality. Then it’s just a matter of making the device more compact and have longer batter life.
I would be careful using power tools near your hands. While the latency between reality and the screen is approximately 12 ms, or the duration of a blink, that amount of time can make a difference between cutting off some fingers and being safe. As people who play video games will say, latency kills. In real life every millisecond could make a difference.

A lot of tech reviewers seem to misunderstand travel mode. It is not intended to ignore your personal movement within the local environment. The LIDAR still knows you’re moving inside the room, so travel mode won’t help when you are moving under your personal power, i.e. walking. It is intended to compensate for when your environment is moving but you are not within the context of the local environment. It disables the gyroscope and other sensors tracking your vehicle moving. In travel mode, your windows will stay in place assuming you personally are not moving. I guess Apple just hasn’t explained this feature properly since so many RUclipsrs don’t quite understand it. Hopefully at some point, Apple will implement a feature where you can specify individual windows that travel with you when YOU are moving within the environment while other windows act as normal.
O man, that shower head at 0:07. I have one that is half the size and only have 7 minutes of hot water with a 50 gallon tank. You can only have a shower head that big if you have a tankless hotwater heater.
Nice glimpse into the future when everyone will be wearing these devices 24/7. If you are up for it, wearing these while skiing downhill on a black diamond run would be an awesome test. It would be a first.

It is still unfortunate that Netflix, Hulu and other streaming platforms won’t make apps for the vision pro because that would have helped boost sales.
I just found out my Vision pro's battery life of sleep mode is short. After just taking off the device without charging, the battery was drained about 30% in 8-10 hours, and the device and the battery are warm even I don't use it at night. How about yours? Other apple devices only lose a few % over night.
The fact you can't screen record things you're watching is a bit Black Mirror scary though. Right now it's just for this copyright nonsense, but what else will they choose to black out in the future? Currently you can film the screen of your laptop, and who would they be to tell you you can't do that? I say "copyright nonsense", because who would bother downloading/sharing a shaky screen recording of a movie. There is no scenario where people would use this in a way that would take away any revenue from copyright owners. Vision Pro is a good toy you can play with, but if you already have good alternatives, let say, your “iPhone”, a good, large OLED television, a 4K/5K display for your mac/pc, I hardly find a reason to buy this ridiculously expensive device.
I love Apple, but I recently got a Meta Quest 3 and I just don’t see what the difference is between a $3500 Vision Pro and the much more affordable $500 Quest.

Yea we just got it, I preordered it about 15 months ago. Love it works great! A little louder than my previous super automatic that broke a while back and it pulls shots one by one but it works great. 👍

AVP is NOT a good productivity device without connected Mac in its current form. That’s not a problem for me, but other viewers should be aware. It’s still glitchy.
This iteration of product seems like a “work” tool. Yeah there are leisure uses too, but for the most part it seems like a good device for moderate workflows that would require a workstation. You go to the desk, put on goggles and work. Then take them off and resume “normal” life. In the future, more integrated and round the clock use will happen, but not so much in gen 1
Couldn’t you connect any Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to the Mac, then connect Vision Pro to the Mac and work from any room in your Mac just with the mouse and keyboard ?

I don’t think this will ever be used for work. Just entertainment. Most people at work have 2 to 3 monitors anyway. And at this price, they will not sell a lot like an iPhone or an iPad.
I initially also thought this was just going to be an entertainment device but actually, from seeing all the videos on this, work may well become the primary use! Being able to have so many screens open at the same time makes work incredibly efficient and I can't see companies not taking advantage of that fact - especially when it only really costs the same as a (admittedly well spec'd) MacBook Pro, and you don't need to pay for additional high res displays. Also, I don't know how many 'screens' you can have up but it would be totally impractical to have as many concurrent physical displays as the AVP seems to be able to manage.
If you had a small company and you had 20 employees that use computers that would be $70,000 plus tax. Unless you have a company that does high end Video editing, almost all companies, use windows base computers, because their employees are used to that system. From a business standpoint, it would not be cost-effective not trying to argue, just talking from a business standpoint.
So apparently the Vision Pro is a real California device -- makes using it in Nor'East weather full of peril! Condolences on your phone (but you in particular buy so many phones, you could pick a new one out of a large box blindfolded).
All these Vision Pro videos are fun… but I still don’t see this device catching on or having the same mass appeal that the iPhone or even the Apple Watch has. Even if it sold for $1,500. I just don’t think it will ever become a thing until they look like regular glasses… and I don’t think that is gonna happen anytime soon if ever. Don’t get me wrong, I love Apple & other companies pushing technology. But who really wants to put on huge goggles to do work? Even when version 2 comes out & it’s smaller & cheaper, i just don’t think the vast majority of people will want to use it as a productivity tool or even to watch movies on. Who wants to watch a movie with a friend or family member while wearing that? It just seems so disconnected & isolating. I’m the biggest Apple fanboy there is, and I wouldn’t bet against them for sure. I just think it’s a niche product. Again, maybe for gamers. But not for everyday use. I guess we’ll see how it plays out.
Your voice sounded clogged while you wore the headset. My experience was both good and bad. Good for consuming, bad for creating. In the end, it's still a beta. I'll wait until they make a model that's not so cumbersome and with an operating system that's more open.

I’ve created approximately 300 inch screens. I haven’t seen this video yet but building-sized seems possible, even if not applicable in this case.

The thing is they can see your eyes with eyesight feature so it’s way better than with anything else, but yes it will still make people uncomfortable.

@@Adam-xg1ch there are things in life that interest us and things that don’t. This for me is just one of those products that I have no interest in. I mean could you actually see yourself walking around wired up with this thing on. I’m a human not a humanoid 😂

I don’t think this will ever be used for work. Just entertainment. Most people at work have 2 to 3 monitors anyway. And at this price, they will not sell a lot like an iPhone or an iPad.
We’ve all been using it for work. It works really well and has many benefits that you don’t get with a dual monitor setup.
I initially also thought this was just going to be an entertainment device but actually, from seeing all the videos on this, work may well become the primary use! Being able to have so many screens open at the same time makes work incredibly efficient and I can't see companies not taking advantage of that fact - especially when it only really costs the same as a (admittedly well spec'd) MacBook Pro, and you don't need to pay for additional high res displays.
Also, I don't know how many 'screens' you can have up but it would be totally impractical to have as many concurrent physical displays as the AVP seems to be able to manage.

If you had a small company and you had 20 employees that use computers that would be $70,000 plus tax. Unless you have a company that does high end Video editing, almost all companies, use windows base computers, because their employees are used to that system. From a business standpoint, it would not be cost-effective not trying to argue, just talking from a business standpoint.
So apparently the Vision Pro is a real California device -- makes using it in Nor'East weather full of peril! Condolences on your phone (but you in particular buy so many phones, you could pick a new one out of a large box blindfolded).

All these Vision Pro videos are fun… but I still don’t see this device catching on or having the same mass appeal that the iPhone or even the Apple Watch has. Even if it sold for $1,500. I just don’t think it will ever become a thing until they look like regular glasses… and I don’t think that is gonna happen anytime soon if ever. Don’t get me wrong, I love Apple & other companies pushing technology. But who really wants to put on huge goggles to do work? Gamers maybe? 🕹️ 👾 People who watch Porn? 😂 It’s definitely a niche device. I think reality is so much more interesting, wonderful, & well… REAL. Sorry.

@@Adam-xg1ch No. Just expressing my own personal thoughts. As cool as the tech is, I just don’t see it being widely adopted. Even when version 2 comes out & it’s smaller & cheaper, i just don’t think the vast majority of people will want to use it as a productivity tool or even to watch movies on. Who wants to watch a movie with a friend or family member while wearing that? It just seems so disconnected & isolating. I’m the biggest Apple fanboy there is, and I wouldn’t bet against them for sure. I just think it’s a niche product. Again, maybe for gamers. But not for everyday use. I guess we’ll see how it plays out.

Your voice sounded clogged while you wore the headset. My experience was both good and bad. Good for consuming, bad for creating. In the end, it's still a beta. I'll wait until they make a model that's not so cumbersome and with an operating system that's more open.
