    Hey guys, just wanted to thank you for putting in a balanced podcast. I think it's important to criticise when fair but also acknowledge the enormity of the the task.
    The reality for a long time world class managers have failed. There is something wrong when there is only one away win at Liverpool and Chelsea away in the last 30 odd years.
    It's not easy to overturn that history. What I do know is if the supporters lose faith, we will get a new manager, a few positive results, then a few negative and the cycle will repeat.
    This creates a legacy issue with a Frankenstein squad.
    When Ange taken over Brisbane Roar in the A league it was a basket case. But he made hard decisions to get rid off former EPL players as they were a bad cultural fit.
    Expect change over summer and you will see how ruthlessly pragmatic he can be.

    BTW: Don't feel sorry for Royal. That situation has persisted for 3 years and one of our managers should have "fixed" this, like moving him on before his value was $0, before the last 2 games.

    • @ScottRozell-vi1fw
      @ScottRozell-vi1fw 6 месяцев назад +1

      Oh...and Ange must be more flexible than Poch and Conte were. Dragusin should have played that last game and VDV at left back, and Lo Celso should have been in the #10, not Kulu. That does not take a managerial license to see that it would have given us a chance TO WIN the last 2 games,..

    • @dutchgrass
      @dutchgrass 6 месяцев назад +1

      Agree he should have been moved on, but that's not Royal's fault. He's not suited for the style of play & then was also playing on the other side. He does his best, unfortunately it's not good enough for what we want to do.

    Emerson Royal was predictably exposed (as was Davies v. Arsenal) but Ange's tactical dogmatism (stubbornness ?) is now an issue. Injuries are inevitable with his high intensity system. I suspect that he requires more top quality players than Spurs will ever allow him to buy to make us really compete. So, if he starts badly next season (bearing in mind eight Europa League group games) be will be under intense pressure.

    To me the midfield has totally lost form and is being outplayed. Saw Bissouma walking back in defence when goal was being scored, when he could have prevented a shot. Laziness! Agree with Si about how Rugby has the best use of VAR. The refs ask for assistance when they require it, and are not dictated to by VAR. I think Ange is now getting a clear picture of which players need to be cut from the squad, and needs to be backed in the summer to replace them.

    • @OhSoSpurs
      @OhSoSpurs  6 месяцев назад

    The refs are biased. It's less dispute if the big team won because they are supposed to win. Some of the top players are protected species. It's fair to say that Kane also get some favorable decisions. The refs have no problem sending some unknown player off but they will hesitate if red card is for Rodri.

    Typical Spurs fans. Conceding 13 goals in the last 4 games.... But let's talk for 15 minutes about 'unlucky' referring decisions.
    Regarding Ange just needing 'his players'. Ange has already brought in about 9 players. One of his signings (Dragusin) was sat on the bench while he watched Royal getting cooked by Salah.
    No one will say it, but the first 10 games was a new manager bounce. Just look at where we'd be in the league after that.
    The fan rhetoric will change from 'not enough games' this season to 'too many games' next season. Just watch. Let's face it, Spurs will win nothing again and finish 6th / 7th again next season. Then fans will be saying it's the NEXT season where we'll really kick on. *eyeroll*

    • @OhSoSpurs
      @OhSoSpurs  6 месяцев назад

      9 players?
      I’d say his only mainstay players were Johnson, Maddison, Dragusin and Van de Ven
      Werner - Stop gap after we lost Solomon and Perisic to season ending injuries. Gil he has decided rightly isn’t good enough. A big upgrade on LW will be his priority this summer.
      Of course Royal will get cooked by Salah. He has a defensive right back playing LWB due to injuries. The alternative is Skipp and LWB. There are no real options.
      Realistically Ange needs 2 more summers to build a squad remotely capable of challenging for trophies. Next season we expect a similar league finish but with better performances.
      Not sure what your expectations are otherwise. We can’t outspend City. Liverpool and Man Utd will go big and they’re much bigger football clubs. Newcastle have a state backing them.
      Give the man a chance. If your expectation is him to stroll past those teams in his first season you will be, and are, utterly disappointed

      Kulusevski was already at the club. It was made permanent during Ange’s time but he’d only been in the door 5 minutes. He’s better than no option on RW.
      VdV and Maddison were good signings

    • @richardjames123

       @OhSoSpurs Look it up, Kulu was an Ange approved signing. I didn't and still don't think Kulu fits Ange's system. I want to trust Ange, but I don't trust his signings.
      I'm not the one talking about title challenges. Ange is. If the club won't invest in the right quality players, he needs to stop talking.
      Having said that, as one of the richest clubs in the country, we could absolutely spend competitively with the likes of Arsenal. However, we have the added problem that on the odd occasion we do push the boat out, we invest in the wrong players, ie. Ndombele and Richarlison. This hasn't changed under Paratici.
      Rinse and repeat. Nothing new here. Ange will grow tired of the club's poor investment or the fans will grow tired of Ange's tactics with inferior quality players.
