I'm so glad this is on youtube. I watched every game of the the habs playoff run in 2010 with my grandfather. It brings back great memories and oh my goodness were we ever loud in that basement when they scored. Cammalleri was on a different level that playoff year.
As a flyers fan, watching all the highlights, I honestly thought the Canadiens were a team of destiny that year. Stunning the presidents trophy champion caps by overcoming a 3-1 series deficit to win the series and then stunning the defending champion penguins by overcoming a 3-2 deficit to win that series and closing the Mellon arena for good. Rewatching their series with the flyers I couldn’t tell if the habs were outplayed or they just ran out of gas after going 7 back to back series. Cammaleri was a beast in the first two series scoring 12 goals against the caps and pens but against the flyers only 1. Do I think if they beat the flyers were they gonna beat Kane towes sharp and the hawks? Probably not. But Montreal had a Cinderella run that no one talks about.
Unfortunately their d core was too injured by round 3. Had no Markov an entire run aside from a bit of round 1. Definitely would have made the series against philly closer, was still cool none the less seeing a rematch of the 87 and 89 conference final
@@flackjacket3dits even with a healthy defense, going 7 games back to back can make a team start to get physically and mentally tired. They got shutout in 3 of the first 4 games of the conference finals against the flyers. They didn’t look as strong the whole series. In 2008 when they played each other in the second round Montreal looked like a tougher team despite losing in 5 as a number 1 seed in the conference. All the games were back and forth. I felt they had a lot more fight in that series than the 2010 series.
@gradel888 you said it yourself, going 7 games back to back against the presidents trophy winners and reining cup Champs was pretty much enough to damage montreals chances of moving past Philly. That and the fact that the flyers just made history in round 2, they were riding an unbelievable high
I still remember watching this on TV like it was yesterday. Time flies.
My first deep playoff run as a habs fan
Blast from the past! Cammaleri was a beast.
dude was a straight sniper
He was such a dangerous player in his prime. Loved his days in a Habs jersey !

Love these kinds of videos.
AK46 still has one of the WILDEST wrist shots ive ever fucking seen
Was such a great time to be a young Habs fan, Halak stole the show and cammelleri scored on almost every shot he took. Shame they couldn't win it all
So close to the finals
Gomez played good, almost won it all
Has anybody wondered why the Canadians goal horn is different now
I just realize that lol
W
