Yeah that 2016 you knew was going to win the cup and I think even The San Jose Sharks knew the inevitable that that Penguin team was not going to be denied and I give them credit were scrappy, but they were not going to deny The Penguins the cup that year. The scores in the that series were close, but the play was not. The Penguins did basically what they wanted when they wanted and dictated how each game was going to be played.
Most teams can't even put together a highlight reel like this over a 10 or 20 year span and this is only 5 years of a super dominant penguins team. So special to watch and remember. Kunitz game 7 goal over Anderson was so memorable, I bet he's still wondering where that puck is 😂
I'm fine with the currents Penguins' uniforms, but I really am starting to miss the Vegas Gold jerseys. I grew up with those jerseys. My first ever jersey was a Crosby one in the black Vegas Gold EDGE design. It'd be cool if they brought the design back with current colors as a throwback jersey in a few years
Also, Geno’s turn around backhand goal against Cam Ward was 1 of the greatest goals of his career. And having Mike Lange, the greatest hockey play-by-play announcer of all time, call that goal was the icing on the cake !!!
The Pens would have never went back to back without Kessel or Hornquist. YET they were the FIRST players they sent to other teams. Why? Because of money. They couldn't pay them because of Crosby, LeTang and Malkin hogging all the money. Look at the Pens now. Average.

In my mind, the back to back Cup wins were won in the Eastern conference finals. The West didnt have a single team that could have beaten the Pens
