oh shit, congrats bro, hope i can get into medicine in the next 3 yrs as well. That's an amazing acheievemnt and you should really cherish it and move forward.
Hi Darren, I’m having my interview next week and I was wondering where you got those sample questions from! It’d be much appreciated if you could share the source :) Thanks and your vids are so helpful!!
Hey Youju very happy to hear you find the videos helpful! I found this scenario on a website I think I’ll see if I can find it. But I also created 17 scenarios for my interview students to use as well (7 out of 8 of my students got into monash med and the last person’s outcome is unknown)
Hey Bape! I literally have access to the same resources you do. COVID-19 government sites are good, medical ethics in med journals are explained pretty well
Hey! I’ve just applied to Monash for the 2023 intake. I reside in Canada! Do you know approximately when they would invite you for the interview? And are you supposed to schedule yourself for the situational judgement test (SJT) or do you do it after you receive an interview invite?
Hello! Literally no clue about when you will be invited. SJT for us was part of he UCAT test which we had to sit. I will do some research and reply back!
@@DarrenTan21 aww thank you so much! I was going to do the graduate entry! It says international students have a different process. 40% GPA, 60% interview+SJT. I think the SJT is taken with the interview but not sure
Hi Darren, thanks for the video :) for monash mmi, do I get 2 minutes to read the premise only (so I can't see the questions) and then the questions appear one at a time (so I don't know what the future questions are or how many left to go. Or, can I see all of the questions during reading time too and then i must answer them in 8 minutes?
Hey Anusha! Yep so for last year they pasted the scenario in the chat and gave 2 minutes for reading, then asked questions verbally throughout the 8 minutes. Not sure if you’re allowed paper and pen, I don’t think it’s entirely necessary and probs practise without it (unless the website says paper and pen allowed).
@@emilyjames9720 definitely check out the different requirements at different unis, but for Monash Uni nursing you need to score >25 in English AND study one unit 3/4 maths subject
I just got into medicine omg!!!!!

Awesome work A S! Very proud of you

Thanks Darren for yet another great video! Btw, could you also maybe talk about any tips for note taking and how to use them effectively?
Thank you YFA! Yep sure, any subject in particular?
@@DarrenTan21 uhhh yeah chemistry, Modern languages and English primarily.
Alright they’re quite different in terms of note taking, but will try and incorporate them!
@@DarrenTan21 thanks, can’t wait for the next video!
Hey Darren can you provide where I can find resources regarding Covid-19 and medical ethics (autonomy)? It seems to be a big topic nowadays
Hey Bape! I literally have access to the same resources you do. COVID-19 government sites are good, medical ethics in med journals are explained pretty well
do they ask 4 questions in all the four scenario's we get at the interview ?
Hey Darren, are you signed up to iCS? Additionally can I ask a few Q's about the MMI? Thanks in advance :)
Hi Samuel again, I’m not sure what iCS is? And yes happy to answer questions about the MMI.
We all gonna make it kings, best of luck to everyone doing Monash interviews coming up. (Although please don’t do better than me😂)
Haha very nice words of encouragement Austin!
how did it go?
Austin made it into med!!
@@DarrenTan21 Yes it was very exciting
@@DarrenTan21 oooooh thats amazing congrats Austin!!
Hi Darren , just a question - do we use headset during the MMI exam ? Thanks so much !
I think headsets are allowed

Interviews for Canada take place in August but I'm pretty sure they'll send you an invite in July
Hi Darren , can I private chat with you ?
what atar did you have to achieve for medicine?
The cut-offs vary a bit I think 98-99 roughly?

Also, do you know if we're allowed paper and a pen to do a quick brainstorm with during the interview?

@@DarrenTan21 Thankyou :)
Hey Darren, if you want to become a registered nurse or a nurse practitioner would you really need med school.
Nah don’t think so - you’d study nursing instead
@@DarrenTan21 hey Darren, if you don’t mind me asking what subjects would you take in year 12 to do nursing at university.
@@emilyjames9720 definitely check out the different requirements at different unis, but for Monash Uni nursing you need to score >25 in English AND study one unit 3/4 maths subject
@@DarrenTan21 does the maths matter because I’m not really good at it would I have to do methods or can I just do any like general or further.
Nice response to the first question, but how on earth are you gonna squeeze 3 out of 8 minutes answering one question??
Probably shorten it in the actual interview, but if the question is hefty then try to do it justice
