    Great video! Olivia, could you please do a video about your experience at Kings College London, talking about its teaching style, course structure, pros and cons for applying etc. Thank you very much :)

    hiya! really useful video thank you :) I was wondering with Qs like tell us about a time you demonstrated X... would you link it back to why it’s important as a doctor as they haven’t really asked that in the question so it may be considered going off a tangent?

    Thank you for the video, it was very helpful. I have a question when choosing what patient has the organ I thought you do not consider age?

    • @MedicalProjectsOfficial
      @MedicalProjectsOfficial  3 года назад +14

      Hello! Completely valid question and my answer to that would be firstly:
      1) We should never base a decision solely off of age - otherwise you could argue the youngest patient should always get the organ as they in theory have the longest life expectancy post treatment.
      2) However, we can consider age in other respects. For example, perhaps an adult would cope with the post surgical treatments/drugs regimes better than a younger patient. Perhaps a heart coming from a middle aged patient, would not be the most ideal fit for a 12 year old child, for example.
      As I said, we must always present arguments for both side, but we must consider many factors and age (whilst not the important one here) would be taken into account.
      I hope this helps!
      -Olivia

    Hi, I am a 1st year med student who did the application process last year and i also watched this channel. Now i have done my first semester at UEA - Norwich med school.
    BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
    Its a competitive course but its possible. Not because im a bright student, quite the opposite to be honest. If you knew me when I was in year 4, you would never think id even pass my GCSEs (not an exaggeration).
    Yes intelligence will help, but hard work, having hobbies and activities outside of academics is a big advantage.
    Any questions ill be happy to answer. Just reply to this comment.
    Good luck

      Hey mate, I have my UEA interview for medicine with a gateway year on the 18th of January. Im from Northern Ireland and have never actually been to the University or Norwich for that matter. All I know is from what is on the website and from what I've seen on webinars (Which is how I found out about the school). Any tips on what I could mention if asked "Why UEA?" that could make me stand out?

    • @kw4772
      @kw4772 2 года назад

      @@reecebni6472 I have replied but im not sure why the message is not showing up for me. Have you seen it?
      Edit: The reason why it did not show up because of the link to the prospectus, All comment with links in them need to be approve by the channel first. the more you know

    • @kw4772
      @kw4772 2 года назад

      @@reecebni6472 So I would read the Medicine section of prospectus (type page 87 in top left of PDF for Med)
      Then pick out things that make the Uni a good choice such as facilities they offer. Then talk about the course UEA offers such as, Problem based learning, the integrated course (meaning u dont leave all clinical placement to years 4 and 5). U could also mention the full body dissections they have.
      Finally u could mention the city and campus is nice at the end. (Even though u have not seen it in person)
      good luck with ur interview, be confident, speak CLEARLY and CONCISE. You will smash it.
      Any other questions ill be happy to answer.
