    Very nice review! I’ve had my Sport Glide for 19 months now & absolutely love her! I rode a Dyna for 10 years & swore I'd never change, the SG made a liar out of me!

    Got mine for 2 weeks now, and I absolutely love it. It's got a modern look, and performs great. The bike invites me to go fast.... that's the only disadvantage for me.

    Got mine two weeks ago. 2020 Performance Orange, rock solid bike and the rider triangle is great! 700 miles in 10 days and love it, ordered a 8in smoked Klock werks shield for form and maybe function. I added a Sundowner seat for the wife, back rest & luggage rack, love the ads, cruise, Ride hard or stay home😎

    Get it. Trade in go for it. Go touring around twisting Roads handy for in town out of town rides. Custom paint with your ape bars stage 2. Sports glide is a sportster tourer in a brilliant softail frame. Short stumpy British roads the sports glide is perfect for the British roads. Sports glide has a very good frame.

    Thanks for a great review, I have one my selves since last year and I just love it :) Supriesed you are scraping so much,
    I´m 5'10 and have scraped once when I hit a curve quite hard. I`m not the most aggressive driver, but absolutely not the slowest either...:). I will take your recommendation on a stage 2. Drive safe.

    I wonder if a new rear shock would give a softer ride to your Street Bob. I swapped mine on my 883 Iron and it made a difference.

    • @StreetBobberVlogger
      @StreetBobberVlogger  5 лет назад

      yeah ive seen people put the slim shock in and it makes a difference

  • @vernlochtefeld1626

    Yep ride it on holiday get to your hotel pop off the fairing & bags in a minute with no tools and you’re “bar (pub) hopper” as us Americans would call it is ready.
    Bike feels light & is nimble thanks to the new inverted forks, suspension & lighter stiffer frame. Some tech; keyless ignition, cruise control, USB port, ABS, Daymaker LED lights, no tools quick adjust shock for two up riding and light modern wheels. The classic styling gets plenty of compliments too.
    Unfortunately H-D doesn’t offer a practical windscreen for it but Gustafsson does. Five models specifically for the SG fairing.
    bikescreen.com/products/harley-davidson-sport-glide-2018
    I’m 6’4 (193 cm) so I picked the 15” in smoked color with vents. Wind smoothly goes around me quiet no buffeting and the bike is more stable at speed. The other shortcoming is no fold flat handles on the bags so that you can use them as luggage when you get to your hotel etc.
    I did the stage 3 for more torque than stock from 2,500 rpms & up and like you the S&S 2-1 Superstreet plus dyno tune for 114 HP (306 Nm/hour) at the wheel. So no slouch for a cruiser and proper H-D sound.
    The last thing I wasn’t satisfied with was the gearing. No overdrive so H-D gears it stupid tall. Like if it had the beans to pull it 170 mph tall. Final drive ratio is 2.79! I changed to a 30/70 sprocket & pulley for a 3.15 final drive ratio. That gearing provides a 13 percent increase in mechanical advantage torque for better acceleration through each gear. Cuts theoretical top speed to a more realistic 150 mph. Fine with me I’ll take the better acceleration rate. Cruises at 80 mph comfortably at 3,300 rpms just below peak torque. Anyway to anyone who hasn’t, hit up your H-D dealership and take one for a test ride. You won’t be disappointed.

    Trading in a FXBB for a FLSB seems a bit odd considering all you have done to your bike. Seems to me the "small tank" on the street Bob is the motivator mentally for you to trade. As far as the ride quality my opinion is different from yours. To me the street Bob rides the same as the Street glide. If you are serious about comfort and storage just get a road glide and be done with it.

    • @vaughnfontenot4535
      @vaughnfontenot4535 5 лет назад +1

      Different worlds, I traded my stage 4 streetbob for a sportglide with a 124 s and s . The ride is completely different worlds better. The touring bikes would be more comfy but no where near the control or *feel of power* ride them all 3 back to back and you'd understand

    • @StreetBobberVlogger
      @StreetBobberVlogger  5 лет назад +2

      My thinking was, like you say, the bigger tank (which I dont really need) The luggage (which I could buy for the Bob) and the comfort (which is mostly to do with the forward controls and front shock). In a nut shell the FXBB is the most fun bike and essentially thats why I ride, for fun. 100% if I was commuting on it and going on long distance tours every month the S Glide would be the choice. But after playing on my bike for a while in the twisties, its plain to see why I bought my bike. And like you said, Ive kind of put a tone of money into this bike.

    • @magmafist
      @magmafist 5 лет назад

      I have seen people putting big tank from the Heritage on their FXBB.
      I still prefer speedometer on the handle bar - like a sportster
      Best thing about FXBB is it starts minimal and you can still customize it with budget compared to higher models
      I heard Harley just released forward control kit for FXBB and Lowrider, have you checked that?
      I'm just gonna get a mustache crash bar for high way peg comfort, keeping mid control.
      I have test ridden many Harley the past month thinking if I wanna trade it. Now I'm sure I'm keeping my FXBB for at least another 4 years
      Will upload a video once I've completed its customization

  • @neilhendley1119
    @neilhendley1119 5 лет назад

    No good if you have to slow too much on the "bendies" to avoid scraping. Saw the results of the same characteristics when meeting a motorbike journalist doing a long term test of sport glide. He'd actually worn the pegs halfway down on the 'twisties' (what we call 'bendies' down under). I thinks it would be a bike for the 'straighties'.

      No comparison. The Sport Glide is so much more comfortable the the Touring bikes. The MoCo really needs to update the suspension and frame on the touring bikes. After test riding the Sport Glide I traded in my 2018 Street Glide Special for a 2019 Sport Glide. As stated before. No comparison.

      SportGlide Rider I’m 6’1, does that little fairing do anything? I’m guessing it takes a bunch off your chest with some hopefully smooth wind in the face . Any buffeting?

    • @bcbsilverhawk8426
      @bcbsilverhawk8426 5 лет назад

      @@hoss6048 I'm 5'6 and am currently running the stock screen. I tried the 8" and the 12" slip streamer screens. They both moved the air higher, but the noise in my helmet increased substantially. I'm going to try the KlockWerks offering. They only make one size. I'm hoping their design will do the trick. Would like to keep the fairing. Really like the look. Time will tell. The Sport Glide is my favorite Harley that I've owned. Wind management aside. This may be my forever Harley. It's that good.

    It is ridiculous that H-D doesn't just include the 5 1/2" windshield, that actually blocks the wind, for that bikini batwing (bikini-wing?) fairing. But then again, they do the same thing with the Road & Street Glide so that you have to buy the correct size windshield. Idiotic & cheap.
    And I do agree that the SG is a bargain considering what the cost would be to adding saddlebags, a 5 gallon tank (and paint job), the bikini-wing fairing & mounting brackets, a 2-up saddle, cruise control, and the new forward foot controls kit to a Street Bob. Just add a Screamin' Eagle Stage 3 kit and you'd have the most expensive Bobby (i.e. CVO Street Bob) in the world.
    Whether you trade-up to this bad boy or just keep that "Coolest Bobby in Britain," all we (or at least I) ask is that you keep riding & motovlogging. Cheers, mate ;-)

    • @pa6793
      @pa6793 5 лет назад

      Dario C. Cruz the 5.5” screen is aweful, it moves the turbulence up to your head. The standard fairing is there to take the weight off your arms and chest whilst leaving your head in the free moving air. If you want a taller screen you can buy mine, it’s gathering dust on a shelf.
