I use sheer fabric and an embroidery hoop. Tighter fabric and no need to stable to the hoop. Aside from the mod podge, set up is quick and if you have some sort of cleaning agent and a powerful hose you can reuse the fabric.
Hey brother, the questions I had , you answered. A very inexpensive informative way to create and screen print for people who are new to this.. Thanks and screw the haters who have nothing better to do but watch your vids and comment badly... Keep this up it is very helpful. ..
it really depends on what kind of mesh you get, and burning the screen and emulsion coating, its something you get better at over time its not gonna be perfect first time.
I love the information! I learned how to do my own shirts some 40 years ago. This is how it was done, with variable material sources, ie., picture frame-canvas frame, industrial stapler-office stapler, stocking material-screening fabric. Wondering however, can I use regular fabric paint for this?
The best way to staple on the screen is working in a triangle. Place on staple in the middle, then pull it tight and place 2 staples in the opposing corners [/\] Then do the corners of the top where there is only a staple in the middle of the top beam. Then do the rest of the sides etc. Have done a lot of work with foil which had to be tight and without any wrinkles on a big ass frame lol
That’s what my sister and I used to make all my band t shirts, patches and whatnot. It works great! Our mom let us destroy to curtains, but we made her a badass Spazz hoodie, so it was a fair trade!
All you gotta do if someone starts giving you a weird look or a hard time about it is just say your wife or gf wants a couple pairs for her birthday. Nothing weird about that. Or to avoid it altogether, buy them at a store with a self checkout. You avoid the cashier and nobody knows except you.
Damn this is genius. I make my screens by cutting clear htv and ironing it onto screens. Its usually pretty successful but sometimes they bleed and its hard to keep the little pieces attached to the transfer sheet when peeling the design. Does anyone have experience with this mod podge method that can vouch for it? Id love to give it a try if it has a higher success rate and level of detail than vinyl

I have a quick question, where did you get your Transparency done, did you use a home computer or did you go to someone to print that logo for you, I was thinking of buying a printer to make the Transparency, would that work and do i need a laser or ink jet for that, thanks for your time, great video, thanks~
+Kéifus Mathews in my experience, I used an ink jet printer, but I made sure to put the side it was printed on on the outside (not touching) my emulsion sheet because the emulsion, when pressed between my light source and emulsion screen, kind of sticks to the transparency sheet and can possibly pull the black in from the transparency.
I have like a ton of questions lol. First: You talk about emulsion a lot... Is that like a different kind if paint you put on? Next: Is the paint that youre usin long lasting/ weather resistant? Lastly: Whats the best surface or sticker would it be best to use on? (No offense) Because it looked absolute shit on the 228 lol. Like does a different sticker for example a vinyl work better?
Are the silkscreens reusable? Can you continue making the same pattern over a few times, or would you recommend making a silkscreen each time/each pattern/each project?
why do you put the tape on the screen? do u take it out afterwards or u leave it there? do you wash your screens? how can i make a screen out of a photo if is not something designed?
The tape is just so the ink has no way of beading though on the edges. It can easily seep around the frame part. And yes remove it when you are done and are ready to clean up. Lastly look up photo emulsion style printing. That will get you photo realistic results.
i have one question, i bought starter kit, however i wanna buy paper to print, can i use the normal transparency paper that this kit came with? or i have to buy the transparency film? i dont get what is difference between film and paper here? tnx
Transparencies are used with photo emulsion to apply the image to a silk screen. I would look into tutorials about that if you plan to have a photo realistic image. Otherwise the ink needed to actually screen print on a plastic will be a much different process than this. Look into solvent printing.
I feel prestreched canvas is very expensive. great tutorial but viewers may like to know picture frames run about .99 cents at Goodwill. or, you can buy stretcher bars, without the canvas.
You need multiple screens, usually you do one per color. Some methods like marbling can allow for multiple colors on one. give it a google and you will find a ton on it.
The parts you want a different color tape it on the back on the silk screen , wash the screen and take the tape off then go over with a different color is one idea never tried but seen many do it before
Thanks for making this video. Real art doesn't need expensive stuff. It just needs imagination.
DIY for life!
🤟🏻 respect

Nail polish remover or any solvent plus a thumb over the end of the garden hose should do the trick

Very cool.. I'm going to try making my own screens.. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks for making the video !!!
Excellent imaginative adaptation. I'll be giving that a go tomorrow.

first ever like to this for 9 years
very smart to use a picture frame. Saved me 40 bucks
The texture it got from the fabric was pretty dope actually
Stencil works pretty good
I would have loved to see u put on the mod podge since it is for beginners
"the tighter it is, the better." hell ye
heeheehee nuff said ..
Hell ya lol
For the guys and gals asking what paint to use: go with acrylic

From a different video I've seen, yes, you can use regular fabric paint.

Also good for making hashish lut of trimmings!
Can i use glue instead of mogpog?
Thank you. I was wonder how to do screen printing.
This helps so much!!! Thank you 🙏🏽 😊
If were to do 2 layers of mog pog would lines come out cleaner ? Great vid bro
Maybe a bit, but you can for sure try to find something with a tighter thread count so each square isn’t so big
Great and nice with its simplicity , what is the name of the ink! And what ingredients one can use to prepare the chemistry ?
This is awesome. Well done.
A regular stapler didnt work through the canvas frame but luckily my dad had a more industrial stapler! Otherwise loved the vid!
Okay, thanks :D and could I use every glue? No matter which brand for in the Netherlands? Thanks :D
Sheer curtain fabric works better and is cheap.
That’s what my sister and I used to make all my band t shirts, patches and whatnot. It works great! Our mom let us destroy to curtains, but we made her a badass Spazz hoodie, so it was a fair trade!
thanks,it is so nice to learn of your ideas
I told them if they take my stapler I'll set the building on fire.
That's that that's my stapler. Ok but I'll set the building on fire.
Stu i ate mine it was quicker ...haha..
Great! thanks for the info…always wondered how to do this :)
on a scale from 1-10 how weird was it buying nylon tights
W4VE imagine being so fragile that you can't buy simple clothing items without your identity crumbling

mystery dude you could also get ur gf or a female friend to buy them for you
Cool little guerrilla project.
But for the time I’d say cutting a stencil and spraying would give a cleaner result.
Great work , well DONE

+Kyler Brown Thanks KB i will keep that in mind.

How long you let dry? Do you have to put in oven? Before adding more colors
@SIVE do u recommend doing this or just straight up getting the kits? &Would the mog pog be good for making shirts?
Very good!
if we are makin obey posters will this be good plz answer
Ey SIVE, can I use Acrylic paint for it and vinyl sticker paper? Please answer my question :D Thanks. -SEV
Can we do it for shirts exactly like this
I tried this with the pantyhose but all my prints have crotchmarks???
That was pretty neat!
Between a 228 and vinyl which one will last longer? And will the ink like come off them/fade in the sun or weather?
could you just use regular fabric paint from the craft store?
Are the silkscreens reusable? Can you continue making the same pattern over a few times, or would you recommend making a silkscreen each time/each pattern/each project?
Yes
Can you still use a stencil under it instead of drawing it on?!
Oh btw, can I use normall glue and acrylic paint?
Can u get the postal cards in the UK??
so only one design per silk screen right?
Can I still use the emulsion and a printed image on this type of screen?
+Chloe King Yeah same application will work but if you plan to use emulsion I would suggest using a finer mesh than the one I used in this video.
Awesome bro... thank you for the hook up, it works great.🤙🏽
amazon or art stores
What video editing software do you use?

Is the mod podge necessary?? I want to be able to reuse the screen.
4:13 "That's what she said" :) Good video.

Hey can you show me how you spread the mod podge?
You can use a paint brush
i have one question, i bought starter kit, however i wanna buy paper to print, can i use the normal transparency paper that this kit came with? or i have to buy the transparency film? i dont get what is difference between film and paper here?

I feel prestreched canvas is very expensive. great tutorial but viewers may like to know picture frames run about .99 cents at Goodwill. or, you can buy stretcher bars, without the canvas.

Its for mass producing stickers if you decide to make 5 yeah go ahead and draw them but you decide to make 500 do this
+Isaias Official make $500? selling stickers from post office labels?
