  • This is my backup camera on my 2017 Chev Silverado 2500 Duramax. When putting the vehicle into reverse... YOU CAN'T SEE OUT THE SIDE WINDOWS... But MAN, you can pick out a hair in your teeth!!! GM.. you need to fix this. "I" as a consumer trust you to make a proper product that can be used in real life situations. This, clearly does NOT fit this bill... TSB 17-ma-269 to address this issue, my local dealer says that I need to pay for the update.. WHAT!!!! really.. I wonder if there is any lawsuit going on for this.. if not, there really should be!

There's an update for that. Find a dealer to install it or find a shop or buddy with a GM MDI1 or 2 (even the Ford VCM2 or VCM3 work as they are Bosch made). They'll need an ACDelco TDS account and get the updates for the modules installed. You'll be able to dim the backup screen with the gauges afterwards.

Thanks, I actually stopped at the local Chevy Dealer in Neenah, 3 service writers had NO CLUE nor heard of anything like this, and I gave them the TSB and they guy looked at me like I was an idiot. yeah, I’ve been in auto industry my entire life… AND I was the assistant manager at the Chevy dealer for a while, I know what I’m talking about.... LOL… I actually found a cure. I’ll do an update to this video, or make another one. Thanks aain

YEEESSSSSSSS.... I found out how to stop this annoying screen from going bright!!!!!! IT"S WAY AWESOME now to back up.... I'll try to post another video or explanation of how to get this done.. Only takes a 10mm socket and a pick (not a screw driver).

There's gotta be a way to adjust the contrast in the settings?

There is.. I found it on the web. Took the wire out of the back of the radio,. The wire for the Sensor on the dash. unplugged the wire, and now the radio stays the same brightness when I go into revers…. AND… the screen dims with the switch as well.. I’ll try to figure out how to update this video or I’ll add a new video on how to do this.. SUPPER simple also. Thanks!!
