- There is a lot of talk about what the best ammo for suppressors is, so we decided to test subsonic vs supersonic ammo and show the results. Subsonic ammo is significantly quieter, not breaking the sonic barrier of around 1100 FPS, but has more drop and less energy on target.
Supersonic ammunition moves much faster and can hit harder, but it will sound louder due to the sonic boom as it breaks the sonic barrier. Both ammo types are excellent and should be used for different tasks.

I wanted a 30 cal can for a single shot 300 blkout and the only thing I could find in stock was the harvester evo I was a lil hesitant but said screw it and bought. Boy am I happy I did I love this can! It is ridiculously quiet.
For future reference, if you can’t find something in stock, check with local ffl’s to see what they can get ordered straight from dealers

Subsonic 300BLK is silly quiet in that bolt action. Woah.
It is one of the most quiet calibers, the ODB makes it sound awesome on the Q Mini Fix!
Too bad the mini fix only shoots certain ammo... if i knew, i never would have bought one. Q claims it has to do with primers.... but it's really the head spacing@SilencerShop
What ammo did you have an issue with? We've run a variety of subsonic ammo through ours and havent had any issues.

Are there issues with running .22lr's through a supressor with lead fouling the can?
You'll want to use a dedicated .22lr silencer, or one that is serviceable, because 22lr will cause build up inside of a sealed can. Luckily, now there are cleaning solutions that can fix this, such as CAT 206 or HUXWRX Suppressor Sauce.
Where is the decibel loudness meter? 😅 I can't tell how loud it is though the youtube loudness compression!!
Those tests arent very reliable, we leave that kin of testing to professional testing labs.
I have Ddm4 300 blackout should you only pick one to run or you can run both subs and super ?
Nope, it should run both just fine!
Do most 9mm cans work on both pccs and pistols?
Yes! With the exception of maybe one or two of them, they all work on either platform, but their are silencer optimized for one or the other, usually wider diameter silencers are more suited for PCCs.

nothing quieter than a 38 special thru a lever gun . centerfire at its best !
That is super quiet, locked breach and small powder charges.
The cat ODB had a twang sound to it on .300! Yikes!! 😮
