I had to clean out my brother's house after he suddenly died of a heart attack. and it made me realize that I don't won't to keep so many things around, it was very cathartic and I am thankful for the experience. we in general keep too much stuff around and I think it's a very good concept to think about things the way the swedish do.
this show is so wonderful. so much more than i expected. so loving and such (bawdy) humor, such love and kindness. more seasons, please.
Ok, people, stop waving...annoying. But, love Amy Poehler
The show is fantastic! The Swedes were so good! Please make more episode with this cast because they are wonderful.
I think it's a great idea and something we can all keep in mind no matter what our age (death is unpredictable). Everything we accumulate is something that needs to be discarded later and I don't want to leave an excess of that work to my kids. ❤️
Yep! I implemented it a year ago when I fist heard about it... And I love it sooo much.
I would be so much better at cleaning, if Amy Poehler narrated while I did it
Here in Oz (Australia), Sweedish Death Cleaning is old news!
What a great actress Amy Poehler!
Why are those people in the background frantically wiping the glass wall.
This will be an interesting series for Amy Poehler and I hope it can give some good life skills and show kindness to those dealing their own or someone else's things. I checked out the The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning book from my local library. It's an easy read and everyone over age 50 should be required to read it. I'm in my mid 20's and after losing both sets of grands, uncles and both of my parents, having to deal with all their stuff...know it's alright to just take your favorites. You can always photograph, scan and sell or donate the rest.
This is such a great show, I watch it when I am at the gym. Some episodes are absolutely hilarious and others are incredibly emotional. The end resultsare beautiful. Everyone shouldld watch it.
Immediately after my mom caught a glance of the show while I was watching it she got obsessed and binged every episode. Then she even went on to death clean herself. She completed one room so far and we will go through the rest in the coming weeks.
My mom is doing this right now here in Sweden. Just dumping all her stuff that she feels she doesn’t need on younger family members 😂😂😂
I've been doing it for a year after reading the small little book. I LOVE getting my house decluttered. So rewarding. Also, I now work for estate sales. I am embarrassed about what we Americans keep. Useless, wasteful belongings. We could have educated an entire African village with the money wasted on stuff left behind in homes selling for a 1/10 of what it was originally purchased. Items that one thinks will always hold a value is basically worth pennies on the dollar. What a waste of good money.
Love her
I want the tour to come to az, PLEASE?!
In 2023 I can't imagine anyone anyone well at least any woman who hasn't heard of this that's over the age of 40, it's been around for awhile. I know I am on a mission, I moved and brought too much and now I'm having to go through Phase 2 and I think even those of us who believe in minimalist can have a hard time getting rid of things.
Loved the show and the book!
I want to see her show with Tina!!! Please tell me Netflix paid you all the money and it’s a thing that will happen!
Get rid of all those journals, if you don't want your family to know everything you ever thought. Don't leave all your stuff for your family to deal with and have a quality of life in a clean environment.
Speaking of cleaning, clean the people off the window behind Amy Poehler please
I found them distracting and taking away from Amh....blocked them out with my thumbs as she talked.
I hate to bring out commenting on looks in 2023 but Amy looks positively radiant and like whoa!! so beautifull and vibrant and fresh like dang! Like The third Fanning sister or cousin (is she eating babies? How is her children?)
how is her children? Do you mean how are her children? And why do you care?
@@Just.D eating babies /drinking their blood is a known Hollywood beauty tip to gain youthfullness and beauty
She had work done. Disappointing.
Sort and Toss. Some organizers suggest 3 boxes, keep, give away and toss.
Its?easier to start with what you know you don't want
That's pretty much what they do on the show.
Minimalism not only improves your life while alive, but is a gift to those left behind when you pass.
Those people waving in the background are driving me nuts.
I am a swede and I adviced my mom to declutter their life because it is selfish to keep so many things for others to clean up after your gone.. and my mm is born in the 40s and that generation where all children of people during the war so they hoard and can't get rid of things..
I have been doing this for the past six months. It’s actually very liberating and cathartic. Also, please close the blinds; those women behind are so distracting…lol!
After reading the book last year and giving it to a close friend in need of some help decluttering her parent's home, I feel surprised and sorry that Amy never mentioned or gave credit to the author, Margareta Magnusson, who wrote the book, The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning. What's up with that??
Go back and listen. She mentioned the book. Stop making the author a VICTIM.
She literally said the full book title at 1:06.
I don’t know why they think they need all those waving morons in the windows. I couldn’t take it and checked out at 1:12.
😂😂😂
Those people waving through the window are very distracting. Today Show might want to rethink the layout.
Yes so annoying 😤
Love Amy Poehler. Hated watching the morons in the window at the same time. Disrespectful.
Is Amy single ? She's fantastic. The End.
Not a thing in Sweden....sorry. We probably do like everyone else when someone dies. 🤔🤔
I'm 44 never ever heard of "Swedish death cleaning".
Aw man. She had a ton work done. I didn't think she was the type.
HEY TODAY SHOW: how about you stop with the people waving in the background? I can’t watch your show with all that nonsense going on. Come on
