      @methylphosphatePOET Purdy has struggled in some games this year without a doubt. No one is arguing that. My point is that he gets all the blame and never the credit. That never happens for Lamar, Mahomes, etc.. Even with great coaches, most QBs still get their credit. Purdy seems to never get his.

      No, JJ is not. Purdy has made him the #1, but BA was #1 in separation vs zone & top 5 vs man. JJ is good, but is fluctuating around 16-20th in those categories. Deebo has been open vs zone. He's not getting the ball.
      Also, Purdy gets credit, you're just a stan so you don't see it because you fixate on the critiques. I'd say the coaches (Kyle, Schneider, Sorenson) are receiving the most blame. Brock is good & will likely get $60m/yr, but this is getting into Jimmy G excuses territory. The OL gets no credit for being top 10 in most pass blocking grading systems. The receivers get no credit for being open and not having the ball thrown to them.

  • @jrn04
    @jrn04 3 часа назад +1

    I think it's really easy to blame Brock but he's played better than last season, his run game has vastly improved and as for the pass game I don't think we can judge him on that when the pass protection from Aaron Banks and Jake Brendel has been below average all season, Aiyuk wasn't good before he got injured, Deebo hasn't been good, CMC was injured and now his first few games back haven't been good. Like no one is able to create sufficient separation.
    Like I'm sorry but I don't see Brock Purdy as a problem.
    And as for the defense we're missing Javon Hargrave, Dre Greenlaw, Talanoa Hufanga, Charvarius Ward and now Nick Bosa these are 5 guys that would start on every single team in the NFL like obviously we haven't been good but injuries certainly don't help our cause.

    The 49ers are the worst team in the NFL in terms of receiver separation and the 3rd worst in YAK through week 11, yet still rank 4th in passing offense. Interesting how bad QB play can result in a team with receivers who aren’t getting open and aren’t getting YAC, but still a top offense. Of course, the red zone is trash and that’s where it counts. Did Brock not see him or does Brock not trust him to catch the ball? And if that’s true, who is at issue? It’s the same team but mentally and physically? It’s obviously not the same team, ie BA. Kyle conservative calls is killing Purdy confidence as well. 3rd and 7 for the first down but 3rd and 4 will get us in fg range. What does Kyle have Purdy do? I don't buy this take. Purdy looks the same to me, and in some facets of his game a lot better; it's the guys around him that don't. He's played most of this season without CMC and last year's Aiyuk, and some games without Jennings and Kittle. His guys are getting stuffed in man coverage, and missing an explosive wide out that can embarrass defenses like Aiyuk doesn't help. Kittle seems to win against man coverage more than the other guys, and he's a TE. And the special teams and defense has looked overall worse than the offense. Imo, Brock's been carrying this team this season; he's played damn well without his weapons. If the team's defense was playing at the Chief's level, we wouldn't even be talking about Purdy. And his o-line hasn't exactly been helping him a whole lot; the number of free runners he's faced this season is alarming. This team has problems; the QB play imo is not one of them.

    He’s running around for his life. If any one positive can come out of this year for Brock it’s that’s he’s proving to be capable of extending plays. Let’s limit that where we can and get back to his timing passes. The extended plays are nice but you can do that every single time. Just ask Josh Allen and Lamar. The mistakes will come much more often with that hero ball mentality.

      They've been solid for the most part in pass protection this year. The only real liability right now is brendal. SF's weapons ranking last in separation and near the bottom in YAC is a bigger issue.

    More objective confirmation that Shanahan can (and does) destroy every quarterback he "coaches". Purdy is earnest and self-effacing, the perfect combination to be crushed by a narcissist. I think one of the reasons the team seems to be falling apart this year is that the players, starting in the off-season, came to realize that this year was going to be the same as the ones before: no matter how hard they played, in the end the coach was going to let them down. Narcissists are destroyers and we are seeing that play out right before our eyes. Infuriating and sad.
