He's not a qb that can move the needle individually.
I don’t understand it either honestly if you just evaluate him to be a starting level qb then yes he is fine being that but when it started being discussed to pay him top of the market now we are going to talk about height and arm strength that will limit things no matter how good he plays in a given game but now his play is not even up to the standards that he previously set for himself and he is going to have limitations and be inconsistent not only now we talking someone that don’t need to get paid a big contract we are perhaps talking about a future clipboard 📋 holder just like jimmy g but really Brock is jimmy g with mobility and somewhat less mistake prone the fans put the fan glasses on the same people went to war with me over Jimmy when i said he isn’t elite and holding the team back
His cult following want Brock to be viewed as an elite qb BUT they don’t want people to hold him to elite QB standards! “He left the field in the sb with a lead” is one of the most loser mentality statements I have ever heard! And his fan club say it with such pride!
Because I think it’s simple protection is bad and he doesn’t trust the wrs other than Jennings not saying he’s perfect but overtime qbs getting rocked and no one getting open messes with their heads
I don't buy this take. Purdy looks the same to me, and in some facets of his game a lot better; it's the guys around him that don't. He's played most of this season without CMC and last year's Aiyuk, and some games without Jennings and Kittle. His guys are getting stuffed in man coverage, and missing an explosive wide out that can embarrass defenses like Aiyuk doesn't help. Kittle seems to win against man coverage more than the other guys, and he's a TE. And the special teams and defense has looked overall worse than the offense. Imo, Brock's been carrying this team this season; he's played damn well without his weapons. If the team's defense was playing at the Chief's level, we wouldn't even be talking about Purdy. And his o-line hasn't exactly been helping him a whole lot; the number of free runners he's faced this season is alarming. This team has problems; the QB play imo is not one of them.
He’s running around for his life. If any one positive can come out of this year for Brock it’s that’s he’s proving to be capable of extending plays. Let’s limit that where we can and get back to his timing passes. The extended plays are nice but you can do that every single time. Just ask Josh Allen and Lamar. The mistakes will come much more often with that hero ball mentality.
They've been solid for the most part in pass protection this year. The only real liability right now is brendal. SF's weapons ranking last in separation and near the bottom in YAC is a bigger issue.
His play is trying because he's trying to play hero because his teammates are letting him down. Yes, he's small, yes he doesn't have a super arm, yes he's going, but he will perform of given 3 fricking second to throw.
Purdy had best ever passer rating miles better than Mahomes last year so of course it will drop. He has the lowest separation stats this year from the receivers but their great - are you watching the same game

The Oline has changed from last year as well as the team… I see Purdy being rushed and poor coaching from Shanahan… it’s a building year and possibly Shanahan’s time is over? The coach has been to the Super Bowl several times and hasn’t won!
Greg calls it like he sees it. Purdy didn’t play well. Ok. Nbd. Play better. My personal opinion Purdy is a fantastic quarterback but he’s looking to run to quickly. I understand it but he needs to not worry about interceptions and let the ball go. He’ll be fine.
Lol. Love how you put "Purdy" in quotes, like he's not really "Purdy". And he's not. He's Dave from accounting, a stow away who's been posing as an NFL QB over the last three seasons. 😂
10:19 this was an elite skill-check question 😂 - and cosell failed miserably. It's clear the dude never watched film or the TV copy or even knows what an illegal formation is or who did it or how important that play was Genius way to out him though... Could've let him struggle a little longer
Greg sounds like he’s gaslighting. The coincidence comment about the Shanahan coaching tree saying there’s not enough sample size…there are 40 games! (10 per coach) to look at. WTH 🤦🏻♂️
Brock is running for his life most plays. So getting a little gun shy and releasing ball early. Get him a decent O line and we have a different ball game. Trent lines up in the back field at least once the last few games.
More objective confirmation that Shanahan can (and does) destroy every quarterback he "coaches". Purdy is earnest and self-effacing, the perfect combination to be crushed by a narcissist. I think one of the reasons the team seems to be falling apart this year is that the players, starting in the off-season, came to realize that this year was going to be the same as the ones before: no matter how hard they played, in the end the coach was going to let them down. Narcissists are destroyers and we are seeing that play out right before our eyes. Infuriating and sad.

Dude, the OL currently leads the NFL in time before pressure. Brock leads the NFL in holding the ball. That's right, he's holding it longer than Justin Fields did before Fields got benched.
Puni has been a tremendous upgrade, McKivitz has improved, and Trent has slipped, but is still a top 6 LT. Banks has been average. Brendel has been below average.
@@RonBintscatsco-fy2bc
"Brendal is below average"... If you think that being the 42nd ranked center in the league is "below average", then you not only need to update your knowledge of football but also are due for a refresher on basic math.
They're 32 starters in the league. Average would mean a player is top 16.
C’mon Willard. That was embarrassing interview, leading and putting words in Cosell’s mouth.
I will say Brock is playing more tentative this year, not sure what it is. Could it be the INT's he threw in camp? Is KS in his ear too much? Saying that Deebo isn't getting the ball because of Purdy is insane to me though. Deebo cant fight through press, he is first hit tackled now. Deebo is a shell of himself physically. I will say though BP needs to just let it rip and let the chips fall where they may.
Nobody cares about interception in practice that means nothing
@@cgruthless49erstalk58 i disagree.
Deebo is not what he was but if they just use him as a wr he is fine because in the flow of the offense deebo be open and Brock doesn’t throw it turning into Jimmy G
KS in his head 1000%
@@cjgray9352 Deebo is not open until way after the play has already broke down. Do you even watch the games?
With a victory, the 49ers will be likely to make the playoffs. Their probability will shoot over 50 percent. But with a loss, the 49ers’ postseason chances will dwindle to about 15 percent.
Does Greg know what he’s looking at? Seems like everyone else who analyzes the film like JD, JTO, Baldy, Chase disagree with his take that it’s on Brock to get the ball to Deebo and move the chains.
Everyone else is saying that Kyle’s plays are predictable and that’s why receivers are not getting open especially against his Achilles heel: man press w or without a blitz.
@@bnsuave I think Greg knows what he is looking at he has been evaluating game film for nearly 30 years and appears on a few professional programs.
@@bnsuave and who is this everybody else ? The average angry fans ? I think shanny said him self yesterday that Brock has not improved from last year . And he wants to see improvement some where every year
@@bnsuave the bottom line for me is Purdy is on a team that’s mediocre now heading toward bad possibly . He has not been a factor at being able to single handedly turn it around . So he gets just as much criticism as everyone else on the team , coaches included .
@@dannotary951 I looked Greg up..hes never played, he’s never coached he’s never scouted or evaluated…the guys i mentioned have played the game at least.
@ I think that’s part of the problem in your statement “single handedly” is not how the offense works when Brock is not allowed to call protection, audible, or free lance. When the Oline protection breaks down he makes several scrambles a game and gets first downs with his legs. He also made several pin point passes to Jennings on 3rd and long. It’s hard to “single handedly” do anything when Kyle is so controlling.
I agree, I feel Brock has regressed in the sense of delivering the football decisively and accurately for YAC.
Watch the game film…. The receivers are caged. He has no one open when it’s time to deliver the ball
@@LarryMartinI disagree guys are open sometimes they don’t get open but there are several plays that Brock just wont turn it loose at all or he will throw it short check down when an option down the field I watch the Seattle game tape 3 times and have watched all the tape for all the games and Brock has cost us 3 games easily
@ I wouldn’t say all that. But I don’t disagree completely with your response.. I’d say he cost us the game if he had crucial turn overs.
@@cjgray9352
And when he takes a shot, he's inaccurate or his arm strength issue come to the surface.
@@cjgray9352 You are missing what he is supposed to read. Just because they get open does not mean they are open when he reads that receiver. Go and watch the QB's breakdown the film. You can clearly see the receivers are bottled up.
Has purdy Been playing hurt? The over throw and lack of wanting to go down field maybe he doesn’t feel accurate.
My long time neighbor friend is a huge San Francisco fan an I'm a many decade Dallas fan an its a trip how these teams have had streaks sgainst each other since early 70s. Most all teams would love to go to 4 straight conference title game an 2 super bowls even if you didnt win them. Look at Cleveland and Detroit they never been to a super bowl an San Francisco an Dallas is 5 an 3 in super bowls an neither has won 1 since they did back to back years 30 years ago. Thats the way it is. Dallas problrm is Jerry jones.. end of story.... San Francisco problem is the lines need an upgrade an KS needs to step up his coaching....
Finally I might hear even a small tiny bit of criticism for Purdy. I don’t know why most fans can’t say anything even alittle critical of his play.
Because some weirdo fans are treating him like he's their son or something. It's like Tebow all over again, hyping him up for personal reasons instead of play.
Has he been good, yes. Keyword: good. He's Jimmy without the bone head moments. But he's not this elite caliber qb. Even in his best games there were signs he's solely dependent on the talent around him.
@@LembeckIsStaying This comment is incredibly accurate on so many levels. Perfectly stated.👌
Shanahan is killing Purdy's confidence just as he did with Jimmy G
Dont forget Defense cant stop a house, and seal the deal.
O lined bad play could be tied to Purdy not seeing the field?
They've been solid for the most part in pass protection this year. The only real liability right now is brendal. SF's weapons ranking last in separation and near the bottom in YAC is a bigger issue.
Take away your best players of course it will change everything. Takes all three phases. 😊
His play is trying because he's trying to play hero because his teammates are letting him down. Yes, he's small, yes he doesn't have a super arm, yes he's going, but he will perform of given 3 fricking second to throw.
No one is open
The 49ers go to nowhere without TE Kittle in the game.
Purdy had best ever passer rating miles better than Mahomes last year so of course it will drop. He has the lowest separation stats this year from the receivers but their great - are you watching the same game
It’s time to call a spade a spade. These dudes don’t come into this season ready to play. Yeah we are 12-13 weeks into the season but something can be said about these dudes thinking it will just click. Stuff don’t work like that. There is a true lack of focus and preparedness
He got married in the off-season so at home he is.....not recharging his batteries 😂😂😂😂😂😂?
Offensive line Is mediocre at best. Purdy has been running for his life most of the season. This Isn't all "Purdy"
You feel you know more than Cosell 50 years experience!lol
It’s not the offensive line ….
It’s the avengers not avenging that’s for sure.
Lol. Love how you put "Purdy" in quotes, like he's not really "Purdy". And he's not. He's Dave from accounting, a stow away who's been posing as an NFL QB over the last three seasons. 😂

I think hes hurt
Trade Purdy for 2 1st rd picks not paying him 60 million a year to throw 10-15 yrs digs all game!
Or missing the ones that are open
You do realize 90% of that is from Kyle
It’s because Brock isn’t worth 60,000,000+ per year
Brock is throwing to the players he trusts, not the players that are open.
Purdy is not elusive like Patrick Mahommes. Brock will never get to his level of elite playing.
Puni is the only O-Line Brock has, and Jennings is the only WR that can get sort of open. Why Kyle decided to stop playing Mason is ridiculous.
Brock is running for his life most plays. So getting a little gun shy and releasing ball early. Get him a decent O line and we have a different ball game. Trent lines up in the back field at least once the last few games.
Purdy is not processing as fast as he did in the past.
Purdy can't make the throws when it's tight, a lot of his deep throws guys are WIDE open.
LOL. Tell me you do not watch the games without telling me haha.
When Deebo is playing like he has been, 49ers have one of the worst receiver groups in the entire nfl, no Aiyuk is hurting us badly he was our #1.
That’s Kyle’s fault
More objective confirmation that Shanahan can (and does) destroy every quarterback he "coaches". Purdy is earnest and self-effacing, the perfect combination to be crushed by a narcissist. I think one of the reasons the team seems to be falling apart this year is that the players, starting in the off-season, came to realize that this year was going to be the same as the ones before: no matter how hard they played, in the end the coach was going to let them down. Narcissists are destroyers and we are seeing that play out right before our eyes. Infuriating and sad.
His confidence been on the decline since the SB....hasn't look the same...turning down throws he use to make last year...idk what's wrong
did y’all hear cosell? he’s missing throws down the field . leaving clean pockets. stop making excuses
The line is falling apart around him
He needs 3seconds ! He gets 2 maybe 2.5 seconds for the receivers to get separation ! DUH
If the Niners decide to listen to all of these so-called "experts" and do not resign Purdy, there will be a lot of teams jumping to pay him big money.
