So lovely to see darling Phil looking so well. It makes me so sad to see him nowadays looking so frail. What a great musician and a great man God bless him xx 💙
Not really sure why Darryl and Chester are only classed touring musicians when both had been with Genesis for about 30 years. Really should be recognized more as both are great musicians
This is why Chester can’t stand Phill anymore. Choosing anic was the final straw. Glad I didn’t went to that tour they should never have done in the first time. 2007 was the best goodbye.
Have seen Genesis a couple of times over the last 30 years (and Phil solo too) and it's sad to see how much he has deteriorated in the last 16 years...
It was quiet because this was one of the early performances in the day because they were playing Manchester Old Trafford later in the day as part of their 2007 tour.
Sometimes I think that Tony put as much as he could into Genesis in part because his solo albums did not get loads of recognition ( unlike the other members. Steve Hackett and Antony Phillips being most... prolific, Mike and Phil being most commercially successful ).
I've always loved Genesis, from the first album on through. I saw them in concert three times; and a fourth if you include Phil's First Final farewell Tour. And now in 2024 I find myself every once in a while needing to see them again. Needing especially to see a healthy and vital Phil on drums where he always belonged. mmmm
💙 "One of the BEST British bands ever!!" DARN RIGHT!!!💙👏💙👏 Love seeing Phil still playing drums, and Chester too!😍🥁 Turn it On Again is one of my faves!👍 I have to admit it was surprising that there were so many empty sections though😮😮😮...what the heck people? Was it a Thursday morning concert???🤔🤔🤔 "Always" 💙 and thanks 👑 Phil and Genesis🥰 True Blue Alllwaaays 💙
the best and fast version was in 3 sides live :) but good to see them with a good image. They were not a lot of people in this new stadium and we can see that they have like 2 mini drum kits :) vs before
I have Rush Limbaugh to thank for me finding this song- he played the intro to this in his bumper music rotation for years. Made me search it out & find out what song it was.
4 string bass - all you need. Collins making it look so easy. Banks looking uncomfortable on a chair too high for him. Sturmer filling for Hackett (effectively) ..Utter, utter respect... XXXX
It is wonderful to see Phil at the drums for this ( even if it is not his usual "full kit" ). Great video! Sometimes I wonder why the producers, promoters, Wembley staff and administration did not let the audience build larger before the "live broadcast" started? ( because the start time for this Live8 show was well known in advance ) Thanks for posting this! Wish Live8 had.
I love Genesis. I even saw them live for the We Can't Dance tour. My only grievance with this version of Turn It On Again is the lack of the bass guitar that brings the song ALIVE on the studio version.
Genesis was the first band to play at Live Earth at Wembley because they had to fly to Old Trafford Manchester for a evening concert , which I went too.
I saw Genesis in Belgium in 2007 (they were touring at the time of this) and the stadium was not more than 80% full, strange. They were brilliant as you'd expect, the acoustics of the stadium were awful sadly.
Hate to be a geek, but the opening track is not behind the lines but Dukes end, which has the 'behind the lines' riff in it but is at the end of the duke album....
Great show but I hate being 200 feet away and still be in the front row !!! Thats why I go to small gigs in pubs and clubs. Phil looks quite well here , lately he is really showing his age
This looks like it could have been filmed in 2023/2024. Sad how badly Phil has deteriorated since then. This was really their last tour.....A sad end to one of the greatest bands
Dude, everybody deteriorates. The guy is phenomenally wealthy and thousands paid good money to see them even though he couldn't stand or hardly sing. That sounds like a pretty happy ending to me.
Phil is quoted as saying its the worst audience they've played to in years. Suppose being the opening band didn't help, and I noticed a lot of the crowd are shocked when Phil strides out front, as if they didn't realise Phil Collins was in Genesis lol...
2007 was the best final tour. Glad I went. To bad they stole the money so only the artists and organisation got rich out of this. Stadium should have been even more empty than it was here in hind-sight 😂
That’s me on the drums camera in between Phil and Chester. Great day 😊
Excelent, man! 👏👏👏👏👏
Lucky you!
Cool.....but still don't know which one.

sometimes you should direct camera on your face so we know you 😄
Stellar performance…every performance at Wembley can’t be measured by the Live Aid concert🙂
breaks my heart to think we'll never see this live again..thank goodness for RUclips

I want to remember phil collins as he is here. Forever thankful of his music
Definitely by far the greatest group in the world. Bar none ❤
Genesis and i would add XTC as well.
❤❤❤❤😂

$$$$$
Depends who writes the songs... but as others have said, it's probably about money (even if they have earned well!!)
I read somewhere Darryl was offered full band membership but refused stating he was happier just being a session and touring musician

It was from playing the drums that his back was destroyed 😢it sees that it's very physical, I didn't know that. 🇫🇷
It wasn't that entirely. He had a botched back operation that made the pain worse, and then he had a bad fall on top of that.
Seen them 5 times . They were at their best prior to the big stadium shows which lack atmosphere . For me 1977 through 1982 were their best years.
I'm from Michigan and every time they came to state I went to there concerts. I'll never ever forget them. I'm 73 years young 😊
I wish they still had the old school 80's keyboard sound, still awesome though.
It was quiet because this was one of the early performances in the day because they were playing Manchester Old Trafford later in the day as part of their 2007 tour.
Tony Banks. King of cool. His solo works really don't get the credit they deserve. He also is such a massive part of Genesis
Genius
They all were !!! 🤔

Us real genesis fans know that Tony Banks is the engine that drove this band
The majestic pomp of the opening chords of Behind the Lines seems to have been written with performance in a stadium in mind

歌が無くてもドラマチックな音楽が奏でられるGenesis🤭👍❣️
Rock band‼️

They are truly good at making music dramatic

Genesis made the best 80s TV theme music
Genesis had a sold out performance that night. This is the first concert that day.
The best band ever
Got to see them during the Momma Tour. 👍🏻👍🏻
Tony is great.
Followed Genesis since High School & Will Always be a Fan too🎉🎉🎉🎉
Genesis.. the GREATEST Band ever❤❤❤
ジェネシスは最高。この曲を先輩が演奏したとき、やられたとおもいました。それからは、ジェネシスを聴きまくりました🎉😂😂
やはり、カッコ良い!
名曲ですね。
Quite possibly the best version of this song I've ever heard! Outstanding!
What about turn it on again medley at wembley 1987 its incridebble only Phil can light up wembley like that

Reason the small set they were playing a sold out Concert at Old Trafford in the evening, what a Band .
Benefit of Genesis late 70s early 80s turn Junior High School all the way to high school best times ever play Genesis even better😊

Isso jamais pode ser chamado de Genesis!!!
Genesis is still Rutherford, Banks, and Collins.

"Behind the Lines" sounds like something made by the 80's supergroup Asia.....and that's a compliment.
At this point they had finally gone back to playing "Behind the Lines" the way it should be.
Indeed. I didn’t recognize Darryl at first. He and I have lost a bunch of hair in the last 40 years.

That would be Leland Skylar on the bass.
@@c.e.anderson558 Leland Sklar didn't play bass on the studio version. He did at a Knebworth gig which had Phil's band and Genesis do it together.
Even when Steve Hacket and Peter Gabriel was with them. Lamb lies down tour..ill never forget it .. never
I’m confused as to why the whole stadium isn’t full. What the heck, did people not know they would be there or something?

Phil was so one here...Sometime between 2007 and the 2010's he just went into a massive spiral health wise..Damn sad
It's an OK performance. Nothing like Three Sides Live.
Five (Tony Banks album)
👏👏👏👏🇧🇷
Also Duke's End...
The're the besr
Being myself a guitar player, I find irritating how little of Mike Rutherford playing is shown...never more than a fraction of a second....

My favourite Genesis line up top. Half full stadium? They were the first band on .
Uplifting

He's been ill , av u been on Mars?
Prelude to a Million Years
Listen to this song ( Turn it on again) you understand why they become worldwide successfully after Peter Gabriel's departure
I'm kinda surprised that the stadium wasn't full?
This introduction cracked me up. Thought we was about to see Metallica

This is not "Behind the Lines", it's called "Dukes" and it is a medley made in 2007 of "Behind the Lines" and "Duke's End". But awesome video
no it's just behind the lines and duke's end and tioa
*Duke's Intro - Behind the Lines has a recognizable enough intro it's worth crediting it vs the reprise
Yes, it IS ‘Behind the Lines’, but they move the music along just at the point the vocals to it, begin.
How come it's only half capacity?
turn WHAT on again?
Daryl Stuermer
I love how no one in the audience knows genesis 😂
That's funny-
There loss 😂
Does anyone know the 🎸players name?
Daryl Stuermer
Who is playing lead guitar?
Clean cut classy looking band... the look of aristocrats.
Sadly part of the DS propaganda arm, still I love ‘em
who is the solo guitar player ?
2007 was the best final tour. Glad I went.
To bad they stole the money so only the artists and organisation got rich out of this.
