Welcome to our first season of Cities Skylines 2, Egginburgh! In episode 13 we are building the second major town in the map, Invernegg! Using a canal town design, with unique buildings and lots of connectivity including trains and highway plus lots of waterfront lovelyness! Enjoy!

had a suggestion
since the intercity lines do not have very much usage right now, you can create one single line and connect all the outside connections and stations (where you want intercity trains) together and also save some trains.
for eg. from one intercity connection > invernegg > whiskey > the other intercity connection. (this will increase the usage of the line also)
The Geo Research Center fits and sits near the mines. That's a big yes. Oh, and really nice to see all the people milling around the streets and paths. Train station seems to be doing a decent amount of business, too.

I agree with you it should be the Geo Center, maybe paired with the technical college. Almost like they are part of a larger campus focused the stuff mined in the town, it's applications a how to extract it

Love the aesthetic of the mixed use on the canals. Gives off an Amsterdam vibe.
The Invernegg elementary school needs a footbridge across the canal to the residential area.

Few suggestions:
- I don't know if the nearby mine would interfere with the geological scientific instruments but maybe you could add the disease control center and make Invernegg a medical town.
- Adding more connections between the higher density islands would really help connectivity as currently people have to make a big circle around to cross the canal, maybe one or two pedestrians connections is enough.
- Bus routes from train station to higher density area.
Funny that you should chose that particular music at the beginning of the vid when I'm sat here playing Skyrim. Mad how these coincidences work. Anyway, happy new year, mate.

Build looks great man, I think itd be a great idea to have the geology research institute in Vernegg. Fits perfect.
Those mix use buildings look great on the waterfront! Maybe some ped paths over the different canal sections would make it easier to walk

Happy New Year, great to see the new city going up !!! I am looking forward to the Geology building and hope you decorate the grounds with all the various rock formations. as a "Geologic Park". It would also be awesome to see a diamond shaped drive at the entrance to the main building. Just a thought. 🙂
a medical and geological/mining center would be a not so often but interesting combination!

The Medical University would be the better choice over the Tech. You have the Health Research building in town, you could making it the leading Health and Medical town of the state. Eventually the leading city of the country as the area grows up. Makes sense too, you having the mining area so close by, jobs that are filled with health issues. It would be smart to invest in medical. Which is why I also think you should remove that little clinic and add in the hospital you unlocked into that area as well.

Add a water tower to each city. Every city in my county has their own water tower, on clear days, you can see two or three of the closet cities water towers. *shrug* just a thought.

Gotta be careful with the Skyrim soundtrack. Even though Bethesda has made their music DMCA free, random companies still claim it and RUclips puts the copyright strike on the video. I've seen several creators complain about this. It's really bad on RUclips's part.
However, using the lofi versions is clever. 🧠
Because you put medicine over there I think both the GRC or the Medical Uni could make sense. Maybe GRC on the ore side of the city and medical uni/disease control on the medical side of the city?
It could be quite an interesting lore to consider that the town developed around the ore industry, which drew other industry, as well as lots of people to work the jobs, and then won a bid to become the seat of medicine in the region, and now they do joint projects with the GRC researching how different geological materials affect people. It would be an important topic given whiskey is so historical, like what if they find out one of the old building materials is toxic (e.g., asbestos). If expensive materials were mined/artisaned in Invernegg before it was a city the locations would make a lot of sense, now the medical institutes and GRC would have ample samples for testing with the mines and old industrial district being so close and on a larger scale

Suggestion for the traffic congestion around the station: there are too many pedestrian crossings. I bet you could remove all but one crossing the arterial/collector road. If you then signalise that crossing, traffic will have little interference from all the pedestrians.
It has to be the geological research center! Perfect location for it. I would love to see a cool prison build though somewhere in the outskirts

I just wish I some day reaches that kind of money, when I reaches your Numbers of citisens Im almost bankrupt. The canals look great but need pedestrians walkways in between to greatly increase connectivity to the schools for example.
I think it’s really nice giving the low income row housing that particular location, but I can imagine in the future those with more money would want to redevelop that spot for themselves.

You could call the hospital/health institue Eggmore as the actual hospital in Inverness is called Raigmore (and is the main hub hospital for the north of Scotland)
Heads-up though... Bourbon? In Scotland? Hmm... aye right!
Nice dual-carriageway through the top of the town but that first junction coming from the mines being one-way means you can only access the shops by going out to the mines and then coming back... Oh, and don't forget to rename your train outside connections, maybe.

you cut off partial access to business by making that "offramp" one way. by not having left turn access to the main one way street "carriageway" with commercial zoning, you partially removed access. if people from invernegg want to access those businesses they have to go to whiskey and turn around.
