    I'm just running one in bone stock form and have gotten .3 at 50 all day with sk red box.
    Standard velocity cci I've gotten consistent .6inch.
    I firmly believe this gun with a trigger job or drop in IS ABSOLUTELY the best bang for the $ . I have a 455 and had a 457 but still like that bergara bolt feel much more .

      I has similar results with my Bergara @ 50 yds but the difference was 1/8" so what I do is buy the cheaper CCI ammo and just subtract 1/8" from my groups lol

    • @charlesludwig9173
      @charlesludwig9173 11 месяцев назад

      My similar results are .3 inch 5 shot groupings at 50 yards from CCI Competition ammunition. Stock rifle with NF NXS 3.5-15 x 50 optic, SFP MOA scaled reticle and 1/4 minute dials. At 100 yards not quite MOA, a result I’m sure of not yet figuring out my MOA wind constant. I now believe it to be 7 and if that’s right a 10 mph full value wind would be worth about an inch and a half of favor. I’ve only had the rifle for a few days but so far I perceive the rifle shoots in the direction the barrel is pointed and the only thing precluding better results is my position not yet good enough to discern NPA as being perfected.

    I have read repeatedly and as you have stated, the B14R was built around using SK and Lapua 22lr ammo. My B14Rs loves SK ammo.
    Mine shoots especially well with SK Pistol Match Special and SK Rifle Match at 50 yards. The guys in my rifle club who own Vudoos and highly customized CZ 457 MTR's are amazed how well stock B14Rs's shoot.

    I’m getting .37 MOA at 50 yards, 5 shot groupings using 23 year old CCI Competition ammunition from my bone stock Bergara with a Harris bipod attached to sling swivel stud. Nice rifle, bought it used and stuck a NF 3.5-15 NXS with MOA scaled reticle and dials on it. I have not cleaned the bore and do not intend to.

  • @Linkless10mm

    Mine results were pretty much the same. Sub-par groups with anything but the SK Long Range Max. The gun was much easier to handle in the Bravo chassis as the factory one is slick as snot. Mine spends most of its time in the safe as my Tikka T1X in a boyds stock shoots everything better as does my CZ 457.

  • @SEAKPhotog

    Interesting. My B14r steel barrel in the HRM stock shoots Norma TAC as well as the anything you tried today at 50 yards. Of the limited ammo I've tried, mine doesn't like Eley branded stuff very much at all. It loves Norma at 50 and even does well at 100 but falls completely apart at 200. It absolutely loves the limited amount of Lapua Midas + and Pistol match I've been able to feed it, but still, out to 50, the Norma can go toe to toe with even the Lapua with consistent .3 & .25 inch groups. Luckily I've been able to stock up on a few thousand rounds of Norma TAC since I can't get any Lapua unless our local Sportsman's Warehouse decides to carry it, which they haven't done in over a year now, and who knows if they'll continue to even stock the Norma stuff once I've bought it all🤷🏻‍♂️😡. Out of curiosity, what're your torque settings on the action screws!? I used 55 in/lbs and certainly have no complaints. I've got a Trigger Tech trigger on its way and since I'll have to remove the action anyway, I may play around with other settings and see what happens but I really can't imagine mine getting much better then it is.

    • @lutherprice2062
      @lutherprice2062 Год назад +1

      I have similar results with Norma Tac22 Black box, not so much luck with the Norma Match. I’ve been sorting them by weight and the results have improved a little. My rifle does not like any Eley ammo and it shoots the SK ammo very well when I can find it.

    • @SEAKPhotog
      @SEAKPhotog Год назад

      @Luther Price interesting about it not liking Norma Match. Wonder why. Sadly, I used up all my SK ammo in my T1x back when I thought I could get a regular supply. I was recently able to grab 500 rounds of Midas +. Looking forward to seeing how it does at 100 - 200 yards. And how the T1x and B14 compare at those distances with that ammo.

    • @lutherprice2062
      @lutherprice2062 Год назад

      The Black box Tac22 is a faster round than the Match, 1083 vs 1100 by their testing but the Match has a smaller weight deviation 52.6-53.0grs, the Tac22 is 52.4-53.4grs with the largest percentage at 52.8-53.0grs. I’m very happy with the Norma as a whole and I like the cost also😂

    • @SEAKPhotog
      @SEAKPhotog Год назад +1

      @Luther Price great info! And you bet, the Tac 22 is a bargain, at least for my 2 .22s, but it seems to do well in about every test with every .22 I've seen. It's like they've found a Goldilocks spot between performance and price.

    If that's a newly setup rifle it's possible something shifted or settled to cause the POI shift. I also had a brand new scope from a reputable company where the reticle would randomly shift under recoil(found out after sending it in for repair). It was really only the second group that shifted. First, third and fifth had the same POI. However, your "flier" on the fifth matches the location of the second group. Maybe try shooting a group...giving the scope a smack with your hand and see if there's a POI shift.

    I have 5. .22 rifles 1. Anschutz 54 and 2. Walther KK UIT Spezial Match and a Kimber 82G and a Bergara with a Bartlein barrel on it. They all hate Tenex they all love Norma-Tac at 50 yards and the New recipe Norma-Tac is pretty darned good at 100 yards they slowed it down to 1080 and made it more consistant velocity wise. SK Standard Plus and Eley Match only 1. lot so far out of 4. lots tried. Eley Club and they love RWS Match and Wolf Match Target and Wolf Match Extra and even CCI Standard. Now that being said, For the Excessive Price that Tenex costs it should somehow shoot better or at least be delivered by a good looking college coed in a short skirt with beer and pizza so i at least i am getting something for my $$$$$$$$$ Tenex is consistant, consistantly bad in my rifles. I wish SK Match and LR Match were more available.

    Hey Josh
    Love the channel and the way you present your videos. Heaps of great info and insight.
    Two quick questions/comments.
    Firstly, not having a go at your abilities, but when group testing why not use something like a Caldwell sled or something similar to eliminate “shooter” from the results. I have a mate who suggested setting up in a vice, but I wonder if that would upset harmonics, maybe not if the barrel is totally free floated. Maybe there is another video!
    Secondly, to remove wind as much as possible why not shoot at say 25 or 20 yards. Obviously you will get smaller groups but the relative accuracy should be comparable, groups being angular measurement, but cutting out wind
    Your thoughts?

    • @PursuitofAccuracy
      @PursuitofAccuracy  2 года назад

      Hey Mike.
      Honestly with a good bipod and rear bag at 50 there isnt much shooter in the equation.
      At 25 ive found most ammo shoots one hole with very little variation in group sizes.
      Never been a fan of the sleds etc. They are less stable and less comfortable than the bipod and bag as well.
      Its also putting something between your shoulder and the rifle making the lop longer than it would otherwise be on the bench in my setup.

    • @jwoodshed1108
      @jwoodshed1108 2 года назад

      I have the Carbon, its good. but I'm not sure about it yet. I have a Lilja blank ordered for it. Mine also likes the SK, Wolf, RWS. Most of my ammo is 10-15years old also lol. Headspace was .0455 from factory. I shimmed it to .0425. It seemed to help a tiny bit. Made a tuner for it. I think the carbon needs a heavy tuner weight to affect the harmonics. I would go for the Steel barrel, I think. The Carbon is supposed to hold a better cold barrel zero. I have not checked that out yet. May not since I'm rebarreling. The carbon barrel is tensioned. The nut that holds the carbon sleeve on tensions the barrel like prestressed concrete.

    It really wasn't a fair comparison of ammo's. The Eley tested was almost 2X the price point of the SK offerings. Lapua CX and Midas+ would have been more comparable price point. Eley Club would be more in line as comparison but I don't know anyone who shoots that.
