Developed by Albino Moose Games, Spooky’s Jump Scare Mansion: HD Renovation is a love letter to horror fans, bringing a unique "cute horror" experience to players with adorable jump scares and references galore to classic horror titles such as Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Five Night’s at Freddy’s. For long-time fans of the game, the physical edition release from Rock It Games brings the conclusion of the long-awaited S.O.U.P. Update (Spooky Object Update Project), which introduces aesthetic updates, new content, and more. All 13 known specimens and five unknown specimens are receiving new animations and effects, making the experience more terrifying than ever before! All the latest updates and features will be available for Endless mode, as well as the "Karamari Hospital" and "Spooky Dollhouse" downloadable content.

The cat, Otto, Spooper, Ringu, the deer lord, and the siren look ok. The rest look like crap

to be honest cat is pretty good goop is good as well but has 1 problem which also comes with the thing they're too skinny but for goop it makes canon sense considering his paper is all about being to tight to be breathe and how he's constantly choking because of it. Although The Thing/s10 has no excuse to look like actual spider legs he looks like his legs can be poked and then he breaks I thought the thing would have thicken gooey legs

You can tell that the people behind this don't understand what are they working with by taking a look at Specimen 6.
I really loved his old design looking like something pulled straight out of OoT/MM, Speci6 being a Ben Drowned reference and all.

Hi, guy that made most of the new models here. My thinking was that an OOT character made of wood would have a wood texture instead of flat shaded skin. The deku tree and redeads aren’t solid brown after all

I know a lot of people are upset about this update, I do get why, and I hope there's an option to toggle back to the pre-SOUP art style (and hopefully also the OG designs for the Karamari Hospital & Spooky's Dollhouse enemies) if possible. With all of that being said though, I honestly really like the changes to the elevator button, Spooper, the whale, the test tube things, the cat, the mermaid, the shadow puppets, Gel, the spiderpede, the giant eel, the food demon, and Otto the Otter, and while I'm not as fond of the changes to the deer lord, Bab, Ben, and the alien, I honestly can't say I hate them either, and I'll probably at least get used to them pretty fast. In any case, I'm excited to see how everything else looks!

my guys cant stop killing the rest of what was the great horror part of this game, so they basically made a creepy and unique enemy look like a jerky clown (s10), removed amnesia vibes from s13 and bro what the hell happened to s5 is she suffering from anoreixa or what😭😭😭
back in 2021 i thought the og stans and hdr haters were too biased, but it seems like they had predicted the future of hdr. tbh i feel sad for akuma kira that their genius satire horror is being milked and distorted so hard, not allowing a single piece of its former atmosphere to stay

to be honest, i hope to god specimen 5 gets changed she looks like she hasn't had a sacrifice in 20+ years to feast on
either way i'm fine with most of the rest of them
edit: specimen 10 has an absolutely terrible walk cycle, and specimen 2 has an unnecessarily large forehead though what did they do to my boys
They netured the Beef Demon, he went from a imposing beast to a gangly Imp, he looked like he went on a vegan beef diet for ten years and this is the result.
That's exactly what he looks like. He doesn't even float properly anymore!!

Problem goop looks a bit too skinny kind of fitting tho considering his pre spawn message to the player. The thing though I thought he'd be a bit thicker in the legs and have it gooier but now they look like noodles and his head is way to short XD.
On their own, the designs do exhibit lots of personality and have some great pacing for their animations. It does come at the cost of the horror and the vibes, though, which is a dealbreaker in this context for me.
For example, I actually LOVE 10’s new stubby sheepshead teeth, but they’re too symmetrical now. If they touch ‘em up a bit and make the body enveloped by the pseudopods more rugged, they could turn out great!
I respect all of the work that went into this but I do hope that we retain the ability to toggle between these new versions and the old ones.
Everything else though is awesome the spiderpede looks sick I call him spider pede because back then I remember him having 8 legs only in hd did he have more
I think the only one that sucks in my opinion is specimen 5, it comes straight out of a cartoon. Also you could make specimen 10 legs less thinner and don't make him bounce like a meat

You'd think so yeah. Though there was already an hd version of this game, and i see this as hdhd version of the game.

@@goonking420 dude wdym ruined this looks way better the only things I saw wrong were how skinny the goop was and how skinny the thing was and how small his head was in comparison to his body it needs some scale up of some sort.
@@goonking420 plus they literally have settings for reverting the art style to a different version. Also you'll get used to it over time lol this happened to minecraft to remember
I honestly kinda like these new models ^^ Though Specimen 5 does look a bit too skinny for me. They look much less like a threat than the others

@@goonking420 I mean it makes sense it's only on steam name a workshop on tv and it becomes way more complicated steam is know for workshops with all the mods and stuff.

I played every version of this game till now but please dont make me play this, i hope this isn't an update for hd renovation, they cartoonized everything it looks like a unity projectwith full moving characters, the nice thing about this game was the uncanny way most of the specimens moved like, to not talj about the design changes, what need there is to change the mannequin/ silent hill reference monster into some cartoon like mummy?
It was already a unity game and these designs are forced. Sorry
