    Use it after every wash as a drying aid. works great like that. don't use a lot either, 2 sprays will be enough for the hood, then 1 on every other panel.

      I think if someone doesn't mind applying it once a month then it's a fine product but if you just want to spray it once then it won't last.

    I've been using Megiuars products for 30+ years. Some I like, some I don't. I tried this product on my '05 Chevy Silverado. I've developed my own procedure & it works very well. Wash the vehicle. Take a small microfiber cloth, soak it with water, wring it out. Spray Meguiars sparingly & wipe down with wet cloth. Rinse well, squeegee off heavy water, wipe down with clean, dry microfiber towel. Works great on windows too. No wipers needed in the rain.

    I've used it recently and my car cleans itself because nothing....almost nothing....sticks to it. Large clumps of brake dust don't, bug guts rarely do and after a good rain it looks new like I have wiped the entire car. I think this product was meant to be used each week at least since meguiars recommends using it after a wash.

    The thing is, most spray sealants only last a month or two, even BeadMaker. At the end of the day, put a paste wax on the car and have confidence it will last a few months.
    The Meguiars is good for price and home owners who have the time to spray their vehicle down once a month.

    I use this product on my car (which has already been polished/waxed with Auto Glym Super Resin Polish) as a top off product every other wash and it does a fantastic job. While the hot sun is a factor, in between washings will be the biggest factor since some soaps are not pH neutral hence stripping off any protection previously applied. For a spray on product which is sometimes less than $10 it's good but it realistic expectations need to be made when it comes to cheaper products like this.

  • @buckeyeman7631
    @buckeyeman7631 5 лет назад +2

    I doubt it was the "Florida sun" (which is the same sun we have here in Ohio by the way) that took it off the hood....its probably the 8 or 10 car washes in between applications that took it off the horizontal surfaces. I use this on my oxford white GT, but it doesn't get washed, it gets wiped down after a drive with Meguire's Ultimate Wash and Wax and I have no issues like you are having. Again, to recap, its not the sun, its the lack of maintenance and the fact you are washing the product off with traditional car washing....what does people expect for spray on products like this? Too much if you ask me.

    I put a hybrid wax with top grade carnauba, beewax and SiO2 which is supposed to hold for 12 months as a base, and then use Sonax Carnauba Spray Wax every second wash to keep some extra protection. Get som insane shine from that aswell as great hydrophobic properties.

      Not sure how it only lasted a month for him. I could see on the video with his initial application that the hood didn't have no where near the hydrophobics it should have being freshly applied. (Couldve needed more than just a clay... idk) I apply it differently however but as a result I get crazy hydrophobics and beads galore. Of course there are many factors involved so results will vary. 3 months isn't bad for a wet application kind of product especially at the price. ($13.97 @ Walmart) Not really concerned about 6-12 month durability and all that since I'm always topping with drying aids and so forth... (Beadmaker being my favorite with HCW) but even if that wasnt the case reapplication takes 10 min or less and you're good for another 3 months.

    There has to be more than meets the eye here. I live in South Jersey. We get the worst of all weather types & I've used the classic Ultimate Spray Wax (Quik Wax?) more times than I can count & got 6 months solid protection every time. 95° 90% humidity to ft of snow w/ months of slush & road salt & everything in between. Never garaged. Gotta keep up w/ it's paired detail spray after each wash & you should get 4-6 months easy.

    I used this Meguiars ceramic spray and I had the exact same result. I used it on my girlfriends car as the only coating on the paint and yeah... it lasted like a month or so. The reason I'm curious is because I've done some painting correction on the hood of my Armada recently but nowhere else, since the hood is the only spot that needed it. Since the hood has been properly prepped, every product I apply to the Armada last much longer on the hood than anywhere else. Same products on the same vehicle but lasts much longer in that one area. Makes me wonder how the Hybrid Ceramic Wax would last on your GTR versus Bertha.

    • @theplayernkc
      @theplayernkc 5 лет назад

      Water beading doesn't help your paint. Each little bead left to evaporate away from the Sun is like a bunch of tiny magnifying glasses on your paint and then it leaves whatever mineral(s) behind after it has evaporated, sometimes etched into your paint. People just like to look at them and it seems to some that it shows the product is still on the paint. However in the case of this video, the water sheeting was not fast enough to show the product was still there protecting the paint.

    i rewatched the first video, IMO it didn’t look that great after the first application. beads weren’t tight to begin with. it’s oddly more finnicky to apply than it should be. the foundational layer idea is what turns off people. might as well spend time applying a traditional sealant. with that said, I’m seeing already 2 months on my wife’s SUV, but i don’t live in florida and it’s white paint. so yeah results are going to vary a lot.

      I doubt they will last that long on panels like trunks, hoods and roofs of vehicles that sit outside all the time and constantly exposed to the elements and not topped up.
      My vehicles are parked outside all the time in Canadian weather and no matter what, the protection does get stripped away by the elements after a few short months, and they need to get boosted again.
      This even includes some hard core ceramic coatings.
      Some last more than others, but the elements do a number on vehicles here.

    Great video! I am using their NXT 2.0 liquid wax on my Odyssey and noticed it’s a short lasting product. I love the concept of these products but the upkeep is still there. I have seen ads for Rust Oleum’s Factor 4. They claim 3 years of protection. Wonder if it’s worth trying.

      I do not sugest it. It is a basic sealant that is way to expensive. You can get the same results out of something like NuFinish. Not a heavy gloss enhancer

    You need to apply it more than twice. If your washing the car, you need to be applying the Product. Considering that after the first application, all you need to apply it after you wash and the car is wet. Apply and rinse off. You're not using the product correctly. So your review is bogus. Use it correctly and then get back to us.
