I have tried 6 fragrances from PdM so far, with Sedley and Oajan being my favorites by a long shot. Oajan is DELICIOUS, I have bought multiple 10ml Decants of it, already... If Althaïr is better than that I may have found my Autumn signature. (:
Can’t wait to sample it on my hubby. He loved his Naxos and Vibrato, Gris Charnel….and doesn’t have a masculine vanilla for the cooler months. He needs a gourmand rich scent for Fall. It very short lasting on my wife’s skin and 4-5 on mine before it becomes a skin scent ( very nicely blended) not an earth shattering scent but very nice PDM quality. More manly for me imo
First time I smelled it I was put off by a strange camphor like / medicinal smell at the top. Later , it settled into the most beautiful vanilla scent. Yes, it’s super long lasting, even off a tiny sample vial, I smell myself all day long. The camphorous note greets my nose every single time, unfortunately, BUT…. as my son and I were testing it today, we actually realized it’s gone within around 3 min off my skin, and after that it’s amazing. normally I am not ok figuring out how to « make » a scent work for me, I think if you’re shelling out niche-caliber $$, you shouldn’t have do anything to make a scent work. It should work right out of the gate and be mind blowing. However, I think I am ok with a 3 min camphor situation, bc I love the dry down so much. Never thought I would be one of those people, but yep, I supposed stranger things have happened. Question… you like this better than Habdan? I haven’t been able to smell Habdan yet, and I always have this fomo - what if I buy this and then smell the other and realize I like the other more …. #beingme 😬🤦🏼♀️😂😂 As an aside, yes, your Porsche analogy is spot on. I agree completely - we know what niche is all about and most of us, especially those relentlessly watching these videos, have come to terms with the cost of niche frags. Yes, you can still get discounts here and there, but generally speaking, if you decided you have moved to niche and permanently changed your zip code, you have lost the right to bitch about price.

Question. I heard Estee Lauder reformulated Tom Ford, Initio, Killian, PDM, etc. True ? And globally the main 3 to 5 notes are synthetic, scent is much weaker, and high in ambroxan ???
I like your use of the illustration of the Porsche or any luxury purchase. Its a mindset and granted you can find deals but for the most part your reasons for buying a luxury product involves more than just the price. Its ok to buy that expensive item if you can afford to just like its ok to shop for a deal or even find a lesser alternative.😊
Im still debating on althair or layton! Tried them both on and I still cant get my head around with which one i should purchase as my first PDM perfume. I prefer the smell of althair as i love sweet scents, but i dont see it as versatile as layton. I also dont know which one performs better and which one is a better compliment getter as I would be happier to put my money on a perfume that performs better and a perfume that others can also appreciate
Grear video! Am new to your channel. I just tried this a couple of days ago, from a travel spray size. This is one massive vanilla bomb. To me, it leans very feminine. Definitely needs something to cut through that vanilla... it is an amazing vanilla though. I felt like a walking fresh baked snickerdoodle cookie. Not for me. Prefer PDM Haltane & Layton and also Xerjoff Naxos.

This is a great scent but nothing new to what's out there ....can't go wrong with it if you like vanilla forward frags, very well put together...I don't personally think it leans feminine but can see why some might feel it does...good release from PDM but probably their safest release next to Percival but thats not a bad thing...not sure why but in the air it reminds me of jpg le male elixir
Is PDM, Tom Ford, Initio, and Killian reformulated to have more alcohol %, synthetic notes instead of natural, and weaker performance??? I heard Estee Lauder did this to save $. Ive been reading people's comments that they smelled less appealing and weaker. Thanks !

I think if you’re in the fragrance community you’re used to scents like this being unisex. But to a majority of people who aren’t in fragcomm this will come off feminine. Everyone that’s smelled it so far in my experience find it to be a woman’s scent (and that’s not just sprayed on me). But like I always say, if you like it wear it :)
It's in the PDM masculine bottle, but then again, I thought Oajan was fem for a while. After some time, I felt more comfortable wearing it that I found it has a bit of a smokey, resinous vibe. I hope the cardamom in this one is enough to win me over and not be overly fem for my taste.

It really isn’t. Most proplr only say that because of top note and some women are jealous of the fragrance. When it dryes down you can really tell that it’s a fragrance for a man. Also theres a reason it is in mens PDM’s and fragrantina says it is more manly and nowhere close to feminine

I’ve always worn Layton and Percival I have two bottles of each . I just recently got a Haltane and Pegasus . I really love the brand .

Althair is an instant classic. It is so, so good. My second favorite fragrance after Layton.
