Fire him he slowed the mail down during an election and I for one don't trust his ass.
During the election we actually were hounded and treated election mail like express or same day day delivery before poles close. Postmaster or supervisor delivers election mail for absentees on Election Day.
He also removed mailboxes in Maryland during last election to try & help Trump cheat for elections. They didn’t want mail ballots which ARE legal. Voter suppression is illegal. It’s for ALL Americans. I never trusted DeJoy. He is no joy at all. He also removed the computerized sorters taking USPS back to draconian days. He must go! Let us 🙏🏽 the union & higher ups in management get rid of him. USPS has never been this bad. A lot of my family retired from USPS when it was good.

@@beverlywalker8026 I know my job as a rural carrier is hounded constantly. I’ve also noticed mail that typically for weekly subscribers used to arrive Thursday, arrives Saturday or Monday now. My craft gets blamed for late mail when we deliver it when we get it.
Would it surprise you to know that Biden cant fire him. The board of governors of the USPS are the only ones who can and until recently were filled with Trump appointees and wouldn't fire De Joy.
Talk to the carriers and clerks and they’ll tell u the problem. These suits have no idea how to run the post office.

Carrier opinion here: poor management at the stations, seniority based promotion vs merit based promotion, each craft has a different contract and union which leads to an "us vs them" mentality and low morale, workers are not able to work as a cohesive unit, and union protects bad employees and burns out good employees.
Just remember we can’t have penalty.
Management only cater to themselves and to benefit their close friends and family without the usps.

Senator Hassan said it best: “listen to the employees”. We are the ones on the ground actually delivering, being forced to commute longer distances, being micromanaged to exhaustion all in the pursuit of Dejoys failing plan. Understaffed, underpaid, but they continue to hire management to get us to do double the work in the same amount of time. It will fail. Bravo to her for saying it how it is.

Worst postmaster in my 36 years of postal service, his plan is not working and will never work, because of his greed of postal profits, taking mail off of fedex planes and putting mail on his truck carriers, delaying the mail and slowing things up👎👎👎👎👎
It's gotten real bad. No consolidation by me yet but it's a huge domino effect. Last night I went back to my office because the night truck ( 6pm) dropped off baby chics. They were over 24 hours old already. If we left them in our building overnight there is a huge risk they would have died before morning. Totally ridiculous. I delivered them myself and went back home around 7pm.

They are taking away money from the carriers to help “save money”. While these people make bank, the hardest working people in the post office (mail carriers) are feeling the worst of it. How about investigate how they are taking more than 10,000 a year away from carriers but they are still required to work the same amount. No one feels sorry for you. Get out the office and actually talk to the employees.

Disappearing mail ! Twice my mail has not been delivered
USPS headquarters Management REFUSED to listen to the Local Postal Unions and willfully violated and continues to violate the longstanding Postal Union Labor Contracts. This has never happened before since the Postal Reformation Act of 1970. So of course employee attendance and attitude has been impacted because employee scheduling changes were not done in accordance with the Labor Contracts. This is a clear sign the USPS HQ management does not have a clue what they are doing and are completely incompetent to manage changes on such a massive scale. And don't think the Postal Unions aren't invested in the success of the Postal Service, their very existence depends on the success of the USPS. But if your goal is to destroy the USPS and delete the Postal Unions in order to privatize the Post Office, then DeJoy is a brilliant mastermind, equaling the greatest of all Corporate Raiders. It has been said the Atlanta RPDC in Palmetto GA is a leased building that is owned by DeJoy's wife. Someone needs to investigate whether this rumor is true or not. It would appear to be a severe conflict of interest if it is true.
Really need to just abolish unions. They are always the cause of problems for everyday Americans.

You have no idea how the post office works. As a postal worker I can say things are better under dejoy.
Many of the Delivery Barcode Sorters that sort letters were scrapped when Dejoy became Postmaster General. They cannot be replaced easily because the Post Office never made the final payments for the last ones purchased some 20 years ago and at least one company vowed to never sell sorting machines to the USPS again.

It use to be an honor to be a post man, it use to mean something to say I am a postal employee Dejoy went in and took away all the amenities across the U.S which weakened the foundation of the USPS and he did so with the approval of the so call Board of Governors, the body which appointed him. This board is not worth the paper their names are written on. Dejoy is a member of that manipulating, non functional board that has no accountability to anyone. This board should be disbanded immediately, they're all in it together from Start to finish

We were not just understaffed but the regulars had enough of new rules and carriers being screwed over by everything from either the RRECS system, excuses from management for staffing, denying a lot of time off and then being told "there is no coverage" when there is coverage. It is all about bonuses for management

The Atlanta post office is like a massive sinkhole for mail and packages. They go in, and if you're lucky they come out a week later.
I’m a carrier in the ATL area. It might be the most poorly ran place I have ever been apart of. Those plants are doing nothing but causing more confusion and slower delivery times.
@@curtiswashington1077 Thanks for the info, Curtis. I'm in North Metro, and it seems like maybe 4 or 5 years ago I started noticing packages taking way too long or going missing. Last week, I had a package go through the Palmetto facility to the main distribution center and then back to Palmetto and then back again. Something isn't right, lol.
Same in Wichita KS plant.

But let me tell you that they are shipping Atlanta mail from Atlanta to New York, Ohio, Texas and so on and asking them to process the mail and ship it back to them as ready to deliver mail. There’s no way it’s getting better because it’s putting the rest of the plants behind by doing their work. They littery send it there. With hand written notes from post masters that say “just get it done” like what? Get your mail done? He’s an idiot.

I have been a carrier for 10 years and I watched the whole hearing. The issue I have here is DeJoy isn't telling the whole story. Yes it takes time for all the change and the post office definitely needs it but the change needs to be internally not just structurally. He didn't talk about how we have a staffing shortage due to a toxic management environment. Alot of these facilities do not have the people to cover all the routes cause new employees quit after being treated horribly. Now I'm seeing carriers quit that are 10 and even 15 years in. Tacoma WA just got a new postmaster within 3 weeks he's harassed and even cause physical harm to a carrier. This is a job and we have rights and these bullies that cannot even respect basic human rights is what will bring the post office to a breaking point. Carriers are tired, overworked and extremely underpaid. We come in cause we love our job and what it stands for, for our customers. So please when your mail comes at 9pm at night just remember that carrier is doing all they can and have probably been on the clock for 12+ hours.
You would get more information about productivity if you talk to people who actually work the mail. Spend a day in a plant.
He closed so many facilities. We are delayed because he forced out the people who are 30 to 40 miles away from the location they now have to no where to go
No one should have to stress out and ruin their health over junk mail. We now have email and can pay our bills and income taxes online. All of this can be done on mobile devices. We also have options like FedEx and UPS. If USPS went away tomorrow, the country would hardly take notice. USPS is little more than a federal jobs program.

Nalc contact has been in the works for almost a year in May, do we all think he cares about US mail carriers. It’s insane pay us more than ups and fedex and you will see performances off the charts.

Crazy slow. Waiting 18 days plus for paychecks to North Ga from NV. Even paying for priority mail! Still 16 days. Snail mail would be better. This is like watching paint dry.

I have packages that I shipped as a business that sat in Atlanta for 2 weeks or longer. My customers are angry and want refunds. Claims have been filed with the PO for the "lost" packages with the majority of those claims being rejected. I now use UPS 90% of the time due to the incompetency with the PO.

Can’t have an opinion on this because I work for usps. But I know the issue. We can’t do our job because we can’t work pass 10 hours. So double time. We’ve also have to cut mail to and hinder it to stay in 10 hours. Lucky I haven’t had that problem yet.

10 hours? Most mail handlers and clerks inside the big facilities are not allowed to work past 8 hours. I've never seen anything like this.
How do you provide a service that is supposed to stretch across the globe and not allow the people within these 50 states to get any overtime to move that service??
Our plant manager won’t even speak when he’s on the floor and please don’t ask management a question they look at you and drive off on there cart if you don’t know the answer find out and come back and let me know and they make anybody a supervisor and they don’t know the mail😂
On @22:00 he is so full of garbage. I was working every day to make sure people were ok while delivering packages. It was like Christmas everyday for a whole year

Yea the USPS is a disaster of an organization! Since September 2023 I have had nearly 5 packages severely damaged resulting in them having to be exchanged with the merchant costing me thousands of $$$! As of today the USPS has yet to respond with adequate sufficiency with regard to the whereabouts of another package of mine that they lost enroute to the merchant I was sending it too after horrific damage upon USPS delivery to me prior. I've submitted service request, MRC requests, & my package was insured; yet still to this very day 04/26/2024 they have no answer about the whereabouts of my package!
I know a lot of people dislike de joy but he's right on stabilizing the work force and converting people. The attrition model the post office uses currently is horrible for new people and long term regulars. People constantly quiting forces the regulars to work their off days driving up overtime. The new hires have almost no incentive to stay. So you spend a fortune on training new people just to have them quit a few months down the line which burns everyone out and drives up costs.

Also keep an eye out for initiatives to reconstruct the overall infrastructure to favor big government....as the government seeks to gain total control of everything it will restructure things to favor that

Problem is we had staffing problems already and now he thinks the ones that are there will willingly drive hours out of there way to go to a different building? Most of these people took this job because it was close to home. I personally don't want to drive that much more. I'm not a truck driver. It's about a extra 4 hours of just driving everyday. With half that time off the clock ( back and forth to work) using your own gas with prices the way they are. Obviously people quit.

And when the Postal Service fails to deliver a first class letter in a timely fashion, many take to doing their business online, which is faster but not secure. Too many agencies have been hacked and private information stolen, but the postal managers and outside bad actors want more people to use online services rather than the postal service. I'm waiting for a package from hazelwood mo and it's 30 days over....it was randomly sent from hazelwood by mistake to Columbia il and Columbia sent it back to hazelwood so the process will start all over....can't even get the package out of usps hand to ship fedex......crazy this is allowed to go on

Look we are in the business of parcels, if we’re going to compete in this growing market, we need to make changes to be competitive to get our employees trained developed into this new growing market. What we need to do it teams show our employees how important and valuable they are to the United States Postal Service and how important our our career is to all American citizens how we touch each and every ZIP Code in the United States and have a big impact on our elderly and our veterans and our Native Americans on the reservations where no one else wants to go and deliver the United States Postal Service we will deliver

A good 10-15 years of unskilled and ABUSIVE MANAGEMENT who ride the employees who work, play favorites with others, plus COVID when many post offices had 1/2 the workers off for months at a time - DeJoy should’ve been focused on TRAINING MGMT to respect the worker and when morale improved USPS would have willing workers who want to help the system get better. As it is, most of us are so exhausted and frustrated, we are just keeping our heads above water.

No one has been laid off but making people drive hours to work when they had less of an hour before, which with the pay is not worth that job, so people quit. So he can say no one has been laid off.

Traditionally the service would make profits in centres of concentrated populations and subsidise the service in less populared and rural areas. The USPS is facing very similar problems to those faced by the UK Post Office and Royal Mail which were founded over 500 years agom Mail delivers have to learn the route which means being shown it by an experienced person.
